Sam and Chaomix in the beginning bring up a good point that now it’s fun to just talk about a new release and everyone be on board with it. With other Sonic games releases there was always the “this game is good but” but for shadow it’s just been non stop positivity. This year really popped off for Sonic and the craziest thing is that we still have a whole movie to look forward to next month. The 2020s have been proving to be Sonic’s real comeback and I can’t wait to see where they will go next year
As a pessimist I can’t help but notice the negatives with shadow generations. But the negatives are really not that big a deal at all even though they still bug me like the song “without you” not being in the game as one example.
Wow, Sam's right. The first time Shadow smiles IS when he sees Big. It's a smirk that says, "Heh, what are you up to now? You silly cat." Guess Big is just such a wholesome and chill guy, even Shadow rocks with him, despite that they never interacted Seeing Shadow smile is like seeing bigfoot win the lottery during a solar eclipse. Rare, but when it happens you KNOW he means it
Wasn't his first smile in Sonic Adventure 2? Ok I'm not sure if it's a smile or not, but it looks like a smile to me: "[Sega Dreamcast] Sonic Adventure 2: Dark Story all cutscenes" 11:37
Chaomix saying there's no evidence of the larva -Gerald straight up says he "grew a new body" in the game. Black Doom says Shadow didn't destroy him, only defeated him, "the Black Arms lived on". The manga shows how the larva escaped. And of course, we literally see him growing like a fungus at the end of Dark Beginnings. I dunno man, seems pretty evident.
Yeah, it's heavily implied. The Black Arms are a hivemind, so Black Doom can regrow himself from any member of his species except Shadow (unless he becomes strong enough to overtake his will)
the thing with the larva is that Shadow clearly had a reason to visit the ARK *specifically* and no other place, because he believes the Dark Arms returned. The larva bit wasn't a nightmare, it was a straight up flashback, and it definitely ties into the post-credits scene. Black Doom says in the game how he wants to be reborn in Shadow somehow (I remember him saying something like that but not exactly what) and the Black Arms could behave like a hivemind of sorts, meaning that, if we're going by the space-time anomaly detail caused by the Time Eater, it coul've created a temporal link for Black Doom to come into this larva at some point and begin to reform. Even without the Time Eater playing a role in that, it wouldn't be farfetched to assume that, if this larva survived for 50+ years and was definitely alive and growing when the Black Arms returned in Shadow 05, Black Doom easily could've prevailed using that body.
Having a Blaze game that can act as a reexploration of the Sol Dimension would be amazing tbh. The Sol Dimension could also make for a good moive if they ever decide to go that route which could lead to a similar situation we have now with Shadow Gens.
While I'd love for another Blaze game, I feel like Silver _needs_ it more. Blaze already has Rush and Rush Adventure, whereas the best Silver has is Colors DS and Rivals.
Having recently 100% completed Shadow Generations, this should be a new standard for Sonic games. It's not only GREAT, but highlights a lot of changes made since Sonic Frontiers' 3 free updates. The future is looking even brighter than before!
25:27 I went back to look at cutscenes from Shadow 05 and the one cutscene where Gerald's pre recorded message plays of him talking about GUN coming to invade the ark and the return of the Black Comet in 50 years. I wonder if Gerald recorded that message once the time anomaly in Shadow Generations was healed? It's a cool theory I came up with.
I met a student at my job yesterday who said Forces was her first Sonic game, and now that she’s played Sonic x Shadow she’s fully in as a fan. Always so neat to see which game hooks someone into a fandom!
Mania was my first game. I went back and played the classics but I did not wanna go near the modern games. Now I've played sonic x shadow gens and I want to play all of the games, even the bad ones
I am sooo glad you guys mentioned the potential Silver has as a character and went into what they could do with Silver's future! He really deserves redemption. Now if Sonic movie 3 teases Silver in the after credit scene, we already know what's coming next :D
I guess it's a conclusion I came too. but I personally believe chaos island is there not because shadow will go there in the future(even though he might) but like Fidel said Sonic and Shadow share the whitespace. there are times where the NPCs in Shadows whitespace say they see sonic and the others. Omega gets in contact with rouge rather early. Maria after the sonic cutscene ask if shadow and sonic are friends, Big says he sees both doing all that they can and Rouge PHYSICALLY crosses over to shadow's whitespace via following him back through the sonic boss fight stage. Gerald even says the places they are seeing are pulled from both the past and future but he never specified it HAD to be shadows. so because we see chaos island here I took it as shadow getting a glimpse into Sonic's future inadvertently. but the overall thing to keep in mind is that shadow and sonic both share the white space and an kinda dropped detail is that people can commune with each other across shadow and sonic's white space. it would have been fun or the characters to talk back and forth via the NPCs with only maria and Gerald not interacting with with most of Sonic's friends because gerald doesn't want to mess up the timeline. canonically as funny as this is the only one of Sonic's friends to interact with maria and gerald is Big the Cat. While Rouge sees them she doesn't interact with them and Omega upon shadows request protects them from threats while he fights black doom but still never directly talks to them
Adding a layer to this is that it's where Shadow crosses paths with sonic for the versus cutscene. So this may literally be the geographical point where the Sonic's 2D white space plane meets up with Shadow's 3D one, hence him playing the other's level.
To further this I would add the White Space is Eggman's, makes the most sense as he is the one using the Time Eater. The rest is likely just Black Doom manipulating it, after all we see him spawn Radical Highway (more than once).
I've seen people say that Sonic's whitespace was custom made by Eggman based of their previous encounters so stuff from the future he Just dumped somewhere else, which ended up being Shadow's whitespace
Thank you, Chaomix! I had the same problem with the drop dash. I'm glad they made the drop dash a skill you can unequip for classic Sonic, but I wish they had done the same for modern. 1:15:36 I'm gonna have to redo that fight and hear it cause I actually switched the music to I Am All Of Me. I don't expect an entire year, but I agree with Blaze returning to focus. Maybe finally untangle that situation with her being from both the future and another dimension at the same time. Or go into more of her role as a princess.
1:43:10 just thought of it now, but you could take one of the most frustrating game elements from SA2 any Knuckles and Rouge level, and create a treasure hunting adventure game. Perfect the system. Hell, make it a souls-like. Since Knuckles likes to punch things so much, make it Elden Knuckles. Instead of multiple weapons you may get access to various characters either after defeating them as bosses or invaders (cause I'd have the setting set on Angel Island, where playing knuckles just makes sense) and you can treasure hunt and expand on the history of the Echidnas.
Mephiles for me really was one of the highlights of the game. Ironically this makes me want him back kinda less in some way because it really is just this perfect ending for him, his punishment for trying to destroy all of reality to be banished not even in white space but underneath it gradually going insane and desperate, it's brutal i love it. They took the opportunity not just to bring him back for a fun fight but to actually evolve his character. Also as a whole I feel this game has the best bosses since Unleashed and some of the best overall in the series, most sonic bosses either have the mechanics down or the spectacle rarely both. This had both, I also love how each boss was testing you on the new ability you got in that area and had been learning.
IDK, I disagree. it's the ONLY part I disliked about Shadow Gens. (the bossfight itself was peak, I mean the writing) Personally, the best part of his character is that he was always in control, even if he wasn't the strongest physically. He can be "defeated" or sealed (and was multiple times in 06), but he can't die. He WINS in 06, I don't mean he just defeats Sonic... I mean he COMPLETES his objective and ceases to exist by his own will. Also at the end of 06 Mephiles explains he can't be sealed away in the scepter anymore, so the way Shadow defeats him in SxSG is either a retcon or a plot-hole. He is SO pathetic in Shadow Gens, ruins his character for me. Mephiles doesn't necessarily want to exist, in 06 all he wanted was destruction of everything. He defeats Sonic and fuses into Solaris, writing himself out of the story. He CAUSED himself to not exist... so where does the desperate cry "I WANT TO EXIST" come from? If anything, if Shadow failed all that would happen is Mephiles killing Sonic again, cherishing white-space, then fuse with iblis in Crisis City again and finally cease to exist once more of his OWN will... AGAIN. Mephiles is the ultimate embodiment of evil, an unstoppable force with destruction as it's main objective. Not some desperate dude. Why is he even getting punished in Shadow Gens? it makes NO narrative sense. He WON, he did his thing and DIPPED. Whatever happened with Solaris has nothing to do with Mephiles. What's the message here? Fate eventually punishes evil no matter what? No way the writers thought that far, they just dropped him in Shadow Gen's story without thinking too much about it! Mephiles hasn't really still fairly "lost" yet in my eyes. I can't believe this is how most people are getting introduced to his character... Hope he gets another chance to shine in a comic or something.
@@StarDragonNovaMephiles no longer being in control is what I personally loved about his appearence in Shadow Generations. Naratively, it's a smart thing to do with a character like him in his current fate of being erased, he no longer has the leverage of being the manipulator with Shadow not only forgeting him but also the fact that he's long since grown as a character by this point of the story, so Mephiles is forced to not rely on his strongest asset which is his silver tongue and instead is forced to win with his brute strength which is why he tries to kill Shadow almost immedietely in the fight. His desperation I think is also pretty reasonable since not existing and being trapped in nothingness all by your lonesome, with only your thoughts to yourself and knowing that your plan was ultimately undone plus the fact that you will remain forever incomplete cause Iblis was also erased would be MADNING for someone like Mephiles, any chance of freedom to do SOMETHING instead of being trapped doing nothing would be something to strive for as someone with as much ambition as him.
@@StarDragonNova “Whatever happened with Solaris has nothing to do with Mephiles.” Do you even know what you’re talking about? Mephiles IS Solaris. Both he and Iblis were originally Solaris until they separated into consciousness (Mephiles) and power (Iblis). Literally everything Solaris did was Mephiles’ fault because they are the same person which includes Y’know ERASING ALL OF EXISTENCE. So yeah I think his punishment is very deserved.
Great discussion as always! Hear me out: Sonic X Silver Unleashed! Think about it, we all know how much an Unleashed re-release/remaster has been requested for years now, thanks to the game being seen in a more positive light. But using it as a way to do for Silver what Gens did for Shadow would be genius, and here's why. We know very little about Silver's home, the future of the Sonic series's Earth, other than it's 200 years later, Eggman Nega is still an descendant of Dr Eggman in the lore instead of a alternate dimension counterpart, and that events in the present shift how the future is while Silver remains untouched(We saw that in Forces and in the IDW comics). What does all that mean for a "Silver Unleashed" campaign? We can finally see, and playthrough Silver's future! We can see Apotos, Spagonia, ChunNan, Empire City, Angel Island, Station Square, South Island, all these locations, new and old, in a brand-new light, either in a futuristic or even dystopian existence! As for the story, it writes itself! Eggman Nega tries to split the world like Eggman did, Chip is revived and recruits Silver to assist him. Heck, they even could, instead, have Silver act in the background of Unleashed's original story, going back-and-forth through time, fixing time anomalies and making sure he and Sonic ensure a good future! For gameplay, we can either have just Silver with multiple abilities, or even have Blaze have the high-speed "Hedgehog" levels while Silver gets the more puzzle/combat oriented "Werehog" levels of this campaign. This would be perfect! It fits with Unleashed, it further builds the lore and worldbuilding of the franchise, and finally allows us to spend time with Silver in the spotlight after so long, without the constraits of a mainline release like the sequel to Frontiers. This is my personal wish after Shadow Generations, and likely Frontiers 2, and would love to know what you all think about it!
I love the idea, but I doubt they would go THAT large for an expansion. I feel like Silver makes more sense for Heroes or Forces! A Sonic Heroes remaster (or REMAKE) could have Silver and Blaze switching between each other!
@@CrossOutBryce I was gonna say "that doesn't make sense because Heroes was before they met Silver and Blaze", but then I remembered that Sonic Team already has a track record of putting newer characters into re-releases (as far back as "Knuckles in Sonic 2"). Plus, Silver is a time traveler.
The only problem i have with this is that it ties Blaze and Silver together too much when those two characters do work by themselves and they probably should get a spotlight to expand on them. A Silver game should be about Silver and his future and a Blaze game should be about Blaze and her dimension, you know?
I really love how they put so much effort for Shadow’s backstory n how tragic the Robotnik family went through. Meaning of Shadow’s name thxs to Maria, Maria built Shadow’s shoes, Gerald pressure of dealing with GUN n his broken family, Maria actually has a baby sister (Which would it be cool to see her show up for the games n see how Shadow n Eggman react and also maybe too early but what if she shows up for Movie 3 but either in a small cameo roll or maybe be part of GUN tho), and the ending with Shadow have to let go of Maria n Gerald. Also glad the glow up for the Forces devs needs to be study. To go from, “Beat a lvl with one hand” to this is insane. Can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up for the Movie dlc
Knuckles deserves the Shadow treatment and is the best one to carry a year by himself. His show was the most successful series on Paramount and his marketing was amazing. Dude was at NBA games and in a classic Superbowl commercial. His gameplay is perfect for his own story. I'd be down for a Silver expansion tho to reintroduce him, his gameplay always has serious potential. Knuckles deserves another shot tho after Knuckles chaotix lol.
Am I the only one who wants a Knuckles game next?!?! Come on! 3D Knuckles Metroidvania let’s goooooo!!! Man Shadow Gens was so good I just hope we can keep getting more stand alone games for Sonic characters there’s so much potential to explore different characters in the franchise and their abilities gameplay-wise and their stories. And I mean Knuckles is a perfect candidate. Like 75% of the series lore comes from Knuckles and Shadow. Knuckles next 🙏🙏
@@GamesCageMy only concern with doing a stand-alone game centered around Knuckles is the writers doing what they can with material in terms of wanting to expand on him more as a character without any worry of Ken Panders-to-himself not throwing yet another tantrum. The Sonic 2 movie was the most recent case of this happening just for it including Knuckles' father last I checked, which could possibly be why Knuckles didn't get to appear as much as he could have in his own TV show, so who knows how another game centering largely around Echidnas or just Knuckles in any meaningful way can hope to be without risk of the sue-happy trigger finger of Kan't Ponders threatening to go off again.
YESSS I also want a 3D Knuckles Metroidvania. Exploring Angel Island post-Frontiers with Knuckles wanting to discover more about the ancients and the Master Emerald would be so sick. The Master Emerald being present on Earth alone and attracting the emeralds makes some interesting implications on if the Chaos Emeralds were originally on Earth as well before ending up in the ancients' hands.
37:15 (referring to Chaos Island) If you look at Shadow Gens as a sequel to Sonic Gens and not just a Shadow game and a mechanical sequel to Frontiers, this is an excuse to highlight the last decade where they can even though there aren't that many highlights. (outside of asset re-use)
Sonic Generations: underrated games get throwaway lines and not much else Shadow Generations: the villains that show up get done better justice than the games they're actually from.
I think a missed opportunity for Chaos Island was not having Sage as the NPC. She could’ve had some fun interactions with Shadow while trying not to reveal any future events. Perhaps even meet her extended family 👀
I love how everyone commented on how they _lowkey_ expected Kellin Quinn to appear in the final boss LOL. Frankly, I think it couldn’t be helped since this game was developed during Frontiers’ development as well, and both directors have a very different idea when it comes to the spectacle part of the game. Nonetheless, I love how Kellin really has singlehandedly changed an entire community’s brain chemicals lol AND it’s working too. I’m no different than everyone else, and after Frontiers I listen to his non-Sonic stuff and the band he’s in, and he’s just so awesome. Definitely recommend
About the S-Rank problem: i feel like Sonic Team's at a bit of an impasse. They seem to be working with a time model for ranking and they feel they cant make the time requirement for an S Rank too strict. I feel like this could be fixed by adding more bonuses to the end level score. A style bonus where you get points for pulling off stunts in levels (sort of like SA2) would work great. Maybe even adopting the cool bonus from Mania where you get a straight 10,000 for never getting hit would work great.
Honestly as soon as I saw the fake chaos emerald and where the story was heading, I thought shadow was going to lose the real emerald to sonic My reasoning was that he would still have access to chaos control but for the final portion he couldn't rely on his chaos powers the same way and would have to lean on his doom powers. He would have to use the fake chaos emerald in some unique way like a last ditch effort chaos control that would shatter the emerald or something but still turn the tide of battle.
47:25 Sam raised a question that I think I have the most ridiculous theory for: its the not the fact that the Fake Emerald was used for Chaos Control back in SA2, its the fact that Sonic was able to USE Chaos Control with it. It would imply something about the Hedgehogs we still dont know much about because only they have been the ones who can fine tune the power of Chaos Energy. Its why Super Sonic, Shadow & Silver exists and why Sonic can also use Chaos Control both in SA2 and 06. Plus think about Frontiers too: Sonic is the only one who was able to go above Super Form and reach Super Saiyan 2 basically which also shows the latent potential of a Hedgehog's power. The Ancients must've known something about Hedgehogs and Gerald too for him to make Shadow as one. Like not to be all DBZ but what if Hedgehogs are Saiyans? It's a topic and theory I welcome the Sonic community to do and it would be a cool video to see from all three of you guys as well.
Now my question is, will Sonic Movie 3 live up to the emotional expectations regarding how we’ve seen Shadow’s backstory and his bond with Maria? Me personally I think they're gonna do a great job probably not as dark as Dark Beginnings because this is Paramount but Jeff Folwer knows Shadow well enough that he'll do a great job of characterizing Movie Shadow and his tragic past with Maria 😢
I think for me, Shadow Generations is the perfect marriage of the Adventure era games and Boost era games where Shadow doesn't feel as fast as Sonic which allows for more intricate platforming and more time to make use of Shadow's unique Doom abilities. I love that, while elements such as the boost are certainly similar, Shadow feels like his own distinct character gameplay wise. A problem that the Episode of Shadow DLC from Forces had was that Shadow was basically just a reskin of Sonic in terms of gameplay but here, there are enough gameplay changes to make Shadow feel fun and challenging in a way that is distinct to Sonic's gameplay. If Sonic Team can incorporate unique mechanics that are fun for other characters, I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to pull off a Knuckles game, or Blaze game or even a Silver game.
Honestly would love a whole topic video on the idea of using the current voices for remakes/remasters of older games. That's super interesting bc I feel like Sonic Team knows that it would get backlash but also with stuff like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 or Heroes. They would have no choice but to change the story and voices imo. Unleashed is a different story tho cuz i could see it going either way.
funny how you guys mention "new voice actors" when it's only silver, knuckles and espio, coeleen already voiced charmy in the original gens and then through boom became the current tails va, the difference in the voices gotta do more with direction
The thing about a Silver game is that you'd have to figure out the time travel logic. Sometimes the series works under multiverse theory, other times changing the past rewrites the future. And you'd have to explain how Silver travels through time and how he's able to remember when the future is changed.
1:40:06 I would LOVE Sonic games to give you a secret hard level if you S-Rank a section of the game and do it for each section. An example of this is if you S-Rank in something like a Frontiers island, you get a secret hard level + a boss that’s balls to the walls and on top of that you can get ranked on it, which means you could replay the secret hard level to get better. It would solve the problem of making normal S-Ranks lenient so getting to the secret hard level not as much as a challenge as playing the level. This is what Ultrakill does in its secret bosses, where if you Perfect Rank an entire chapter, you get a Prime Sanctum level and boss, and they’re some of the most iconic moments in the game
Small thing for me to latch on to but it's a thing I think on sometimes: I assume that the fake emerald was close enough to a real one that any character COULD do Chaos Control with it, since it has the "same wavelength and properties" so it works on a mechanical standpoint, but it doesn't have the unlimited energy or turning positive/negative thoughts into power, and that's why Sonic looked exhausted? A kind of "Anyone weaker woulda died/burned themselves up as fuel/whatever" thing. Sonic Battle actually managed to let Shadow do mild Chaos powers without an Emerald in the end-game based on, I forget, having feels about Maria or such too, and he's been built and genetically made to do Chaos Stuff and is probably more cool with doing self-dangerous stuff.
1:23:00 - KNOW WHAT WOULD BE SUPER HYPE? DLC MUSIC TRACKS THAT WERE NEW RECORDINGS OF OLD SONGS WITH KELLIN QUINN ON VOCALS (ALL HAIL SHADOW, ANYONE? I AM… ALL OF ME?) IN NEW CHESTS OR KEYS AROUND THE HUB/LEVELS!!! SEGA, THE AMOUNT OF CAPS I’VE USED HERE IS EQUIVALENT TO THE AMOUNT OF CAPSAISIN IN CAROLINA REAPER. GET THIS SHIT *DONE* 🤯
I always hated 2d in my 3d sonic games, but this game made me realize as long as those levels are good AND don't interrupt the 3d levels then I'll welcome them with open arms. As time goes on I've realized what I don't like isn't that 2d is in the game, but I don't like when my gameplay style changes mid level.
I would like to see what they could do with Silver, like the way I see it is, yes, Iblis is gone and his future is saved, but there could still be threats and villians in that time. Like we’ve seen that most of the times when a threat emerges in Silvers time, it’s due to the past, but what if we had a Silver game where he had to deal with a threat in his time that has no relation to the past. Like have him go through an arc of growth that has him becoming more of a hero without having to rely on time travel or something like that. I feel that having a game set in the future of Sonic’s world and exploring that would be a really cool concept. I also feel like they could introduce even more characters that way too, like have Silver have a team he would fight with or have him gain allies along the way or something like that. Idk I just feel like there’s a lot they could do when it comes to Silver and his time period.
No one mentioned the most important change to base Generations. Right There, Ride On was removed as an unlockable song from challenges and was replaced with Westopolis. This is the only unlockable song change in the game, even Endless Possibility remained unchanged.
A knuckles spin off game idea. A thought i had when you mentioned Angel Island at 1:00:00 is what if they did a knuckles exclusive game centered around knickles explore angel island and learning more about his roots, and about the emeralds. Mainly the master emerald since in frontiers we learned that the master emerald brought the emeralds to Sonic's world. Kinds like a knuckles chaotix situation with them all teaming together.
Yooo the TRIO has retuned! Besides the weird dialogue changes in Sonic Gens (I have LOT"S OF ISSUES with that part lol), I genuinely think that Sonic Team did a good job with how well-done they did with Shadow Gens. We haven't even got to play the Movie DLC yet, so I'm excited to see that eventual playthrough!!!
@@_SSCJ Its also that there's some dead space between characters talking since only the lines changed and not the cutscenes themselves. It makes me question how this got approved considering how awkward a few of the interactions are.
@@_SSCJ ALSO ALSO, I was wondering why the rewrite didn't focus on properly tying in both games together. Even Shadow Gens didn't do that great of a job doing it bc he just ends up there after chaos island, and is back in his whitespace by the end of the cutscene. I wonder how he got back? Edit: btw sorry for the rambling! It's just interesting to talk about these things, even if they really don't amount to that much.
How likely do we think post-launch updates are for either game? I feel like there’s a gold mine of DLC that they could release for both campaigns, and there’s also some minor things that they should probably fix (the music in Metal Sonic’s rival battle starting at the wrong time, for example).
53:05 This game is there first game that has really made the rings and enemies essential to collect and attack rather than speeding passed them all. Great Job SEGA
i'd love to see Blaze or the Chaotix (imagine an Ace Attorney-style Chaotix game, maybe kinda like Murder of Sonic) explored more in the future. as y'all said, neither could carry a year, but I'd love to see either of them get a spotlight somehow
The last couple of Sonic games have been disappointing 6/10 games like Frontiers and Superstars but than this year they gave us a 9/10 Sonic experience that everybody is praising! While also tying into and packaged with the last amazing 3D Sonic game. This is a wonderful time to be a Sonic fan it feels like the fruits of our suffering has paid off once again
Shadow Gens does make going back to Sonic Gens feel _very_ rough. It feels very rigid and I swear the boost just wants to go in whatever direction it wants and not where I'm actually facing. I think this really is just a symptom of how much they've learned, fixed, and worked on the formula since Sonic Gens original release. What was good then is kinda rough now because things have really just gotten better overall.
I feel like the holy trinity of characters they can use as side games would be Knuckles, Silver, and Blaze. Those three are solid for their own story. And anothet game with Metal Sonic as the villian but this time in a modern medium. And im not talking about some henchman role. This guy needs a shadow type rival story.
In Sonic Gens, whenever you hit a checkpoint, you get that timer to show how fast or slow you were to reaching that checkpoint, which always never made sense to me why S Ranks weren't indicated by that. I mean, isn't the reason why they're there because Eggman left them behind in pursuit of the Time Eater?
YOU KNOW WHAT?? Thanks to Fadel's hypeness and Sam's review, I'm gonna buy this game when it's close to my birthday (this month, November), so LOCK TF IN!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️
I kinda want them to hold off on SA3 for a bit longer. I find SA2 is mid, that's just me, I HATE the mech and treasure hunting stages from that game. If SA3 is going to be happening, I just hope, I HOPE, that each characters playstyle mostly takes from the vanilla, totally nailed down Speed stage gameplay (preferably the gameplay and level design from Shadow Gens) - Kinda like they did with Final Horizon, only better with more polish and less jank. PLEASE NO MECHS. PLEASE.
I feel justified about ya'll saying Chaos Island's music being bad. The only tracks I didn't like was Chaos Island's 1 and 2; I changed the music to "Find Your Flame" while playing them.

It's chaomix
He is a tool
Yeah, it's heavily implied. The Black Arms are a hivemind, so Black Doom can regrow himself from any member of his species except Shadow (unless he becomes strong enough to overtake his will)
What manga?
the thing with the larva is that Shadow clearly had a reason to visit the ARK *specifically* and no other place, because he believes the Dark Arms returned.
He also says the anomaly "Accelerated" his plans as in he was already being reborn and the Time Bummer was just making it happen faster.
Having a Blaze game that can act as a reexploration of the Sol Dimension would be amazing tbh. The Sol Dimension could also make for a good moive if they ever decide to go that route which could lead to a similar situation we have now with Shadow Gens.
big agree, i'd love to see Blaze get her own story and see the Sol Dimension explored more
While I'd love for another Blaze game, I feel like Silver _needs_ it more.

THAT ACTUALLY ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE! 🤯🤯
Sweet collab let’s go. What a time to be a sonic and shadow fan. 💙❤️
YUHHH
I met a student at my job yesterday who said Forces was her first Sonic game, and now that she’s played Sonic x Shadow she’s fully in as a fan. Always so neat to see which game hooks someone into a fandom!
Mania was my first game. I went back and played the classics but I did not wanna go near the modern games. Now I've played sonic x shadow gens and I want to play all of the games, even the bad ones
@ I hope you have a great time!
I am sooo glad you guys mentioned the potential Silver has as a character and went into what they could do with Silver's future! He really deserves redemption. Now if Sonic movie 3 teases Silver in the after credit scene, we already know what's coming next :D
MHMMMM
Ngl i think they might tease metal sonic, silver fits better at the Last movie
Chaos Island Act 1's over the top dubstep grew on me so much, i hated it but it's so unique that its the one that stuck in my head the most.
It's one of my favourite tracks in the game. Electronic music with melancholic melodies hits different.
While Rouge sees them she doesn't interact with them and Omega upon shadows request protects them from threats while he fights black doom but still never directly talks to them
@@rylewolf2671 yea I believe so as well! Gerald even says they can see places that are from future times
WOULD LOVE THAT
1:43:10 just thought of it now, but you could take one of the most frustrating game elements from SA2 any Knuckles and Rouge level, and create a treasure hunting adventure game.
(the bossfight itself was peak, I mean the writing)
Personally, the best part of his character is that he was always in control, even if he wasn't the strongest physically.
Loved the boss fight, the writing for his character pushed toward being lame, and damages the story potential he could have outside Shadow.

Great seeing the Sonic RUclipsr GOATs together! And I love the Sonic Mega Collection background music.
Great discussion as always! Hear me out:
Sonic X Silver Unleashed!
PLZZZ SILVER CAMPAAAIGN
WE COULD SEE SILVER BEAT DARK GAIA IN BASE FORM PLEASE
I just realized something…. Now Sonics birthday is Shadow’s anniversary of having to let go of Maria again…
oof
KNUCKLES GAME COULD BE SICK
@@sootsprite6407 dayum that’s so true 😭☠️
Yea LMAOO
Just a few dudes having a fun discussion about their favorite franchise. I would love to be in a position like this someday.

The Chaos Trio are back at it again! Yesssir! This Year has been such a W Year for Sonic Fans. Here’s to more great things to come for the blue blur
YESSSSIIRRR
Sonic Generations: underrated games get throwaway lines and not much else
Shadow Generations: the villains that show up get done better justice than the games they're actually from.
Nonetheless, I love how Kellin really has singlehandedly changed an entire community’s brain chemicals lol
AND it’s working too. I’m no different than everyone else, and after Frontiers I listen to his non-Sonic stuff and the band he’s in, and he’s just so awesome. Definitely recommend
That’s very true LOL
About the S-Rank problem: i feel like Sonic Team's at a bit of an impasse. They seem to be working with a time model for ranking and they feel they cant make the time requirement for an S Rank too strict. I feel like this could be fixed by adding more bonuses to the end level score. A style bonus where you get points for pulling off stunts in levels (sort of like SA2) would work great. Maybe even adopting the cool bonus from Mania where you get a straight 10,000 for never getting hit would work great.
Just make it so that u gotta get certain amount of combo chains, Ring amount & time😭
@@GamesCage so Unleashed, then? I agree.
Honestly as soon as I saw the fake chaos emerald and where the story was heading, I thought shadow was going to lose the real emerald to sonic
My reasoning was that he would still have access to chaos control but for the final portion he couldn't rely on his chaos powers the same way and would have to lean on his doom powers. He would have to use the fake chaos emerald in some unique way like a last ditch effort chaos control that would shatter the emerald or something but still turn the tide of battle.
It was a missed opportunity to have sonic interact with Maria, it would’ve been interesting to see how shadow would’ve reacted to that
AGREE
"Sonic is the only one able to go above Super Form and reach Super Saiyan 2"
Hyper Knuckles: "Bro, you _really_ gotta me like that?"
If they made DLC for this, which I doubt, I'd actually love to see Eggman N from Sonic Rivals as like some alternative dimension / timeline bs
This is a very ambitious crossover of SonicTubers💙
We are so back!
I hope the movie is peak🥲
THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN! (the boys are back in town!)
while exploring the Echidna Tribes and Angel Island again would be cool, but you gotta remember the one big elephant in the room about this
...does the elephant have the initial of K.P. in it?
@@Handepsilon ...yep
I doubt he can afford another lawsuit.
IT IS A GOOD TOPIC! I’ll get to it

Sonic, Shadow, and Silver on screen rn
The thing about a Silver game is that you'd have to figure out the time travel logic. Sometimes the series works under multiverse theory, other times changing the past rewrites the future.
And you'd have to explain how Silver travels through time and how he's able to remember when the future is changed.
1:10:07
Boss talk
May this Sonic high long continue, love these collabs where you guys just discuss Sonic it's great
1:40:06 I would LOVE Sonic games to give you a secret hard level if you S-Rank a section of the game and do it for each section.
28:28 seeing Sam trying his absolute best to input his thoughts into the convo HURT to watch 😭 let my guy speak his shit!!! /nm
LMAAOOOOOO ITS HARD SOMETIMES
As time goes on I've realized what I don't like isn't that 2d is in the game, but I don't like when my gameplay style changes mid level.
yooooo the Big 3, LETS GOOOOOO
GIVE US MORE SILVER

@@GamesCage INDEED THEY DID
I didn’t gave the biggest issues with the rewrite. Some lines I liked better, some I didn’t.
Dabbing in the year 2024💔
Unleashed will probably have the benefit of switch 2 and maybe even a higher budget than sonic x shadow generations when It gets a remaster.
How likely do we think post-launch updates are for either game? I feel like there’s a gold mine of DLC that they could release for both campaigns, and there’s also some minor things that they should probably fix (the music in Metal Sonic’s rival battle starting at the wrong time, for example).
If they make a final horizon type of dlc for this game, they should do one fof silver.
I feel like they won’t cuz it’s basically a remaster & the “extra” content is basically shadow gens LOL
That is the real sonic Heroes right here

Such a great time to be a sonic fan
The Sonic Heroes have returned!
Technically Shadow smiled three times now. First big, then Maria, and I think Forces when the war was over
The smash bros of the sonic community
THE SONIC COUNCIL HAS SPOKEN ONCE AGAIN!
