This man is one of the greatest songwriters/performers of all time. The sadness and beauty Dave puts into this song is shocking. I can't even fathom what he was feeling when he wrote such a beautiful piece of music. The result of a beautiful and ingeniously creative mind tortured by the loss of a love.

Writing often just spills out if I'm in the right mindspace, real relaxed and open, and I've heard others say it happens the same for them. Sometimes a song is worked over and changed, sometimes it's left as-is, then when you sing, the emotions can be fully expressed in the moment, and I don't think any song will ever sound the same way twice if you sing using true emotion. So healing, I love music so much.

You’re so right. And he assembled a group of AMAZING musicians too. Not a mediocre musician among them. Carter Beauford is one of my biggest inspirations as a drummer. It killed me when Leroi Moore died. I couldn’t believe it. I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to Dave’s music more than any other musician or group. There are some songs I play on repeat over and over and over and over.
When you can be completely vulnerable, it changes you.

I’m now 12 years sober. I got married in September, and just closed on a house!
There’s been a lot of life that happened a long the way. I was fortunate to help a few people with their sobriety as well.
Just trudging along and trying to survive in this economy.
I appreciate all the well wishes. I hope all of you are all kicking @ss in life!

Mental strength is just like physical strength. The more you gain, the lighter everything feels. So parts of life, or situations in life, that may have been difficult before are now like nothing. if you ever look at any of his performances, his eyes are always so sad. Such a tremendous loss for all of us who enjoyed him. I had the privilege to meet him in San Francisco. He was so Harry then and always riding his bicycle. My friend who had come over from Texas to visit and I were in line to get in and he was in line as well. He bought everyone at the Hard Rock Caffee two rounds. Amazing person always sad.

+Mel Anderson I do tell the truth and am a firm believer in being honest. But that does not stop people from lying to me. 8 out of 10 times I can spot a liar, but the rest 2 times I get fooled. I learn. and as per recent studies, lying comes naturally to us. We use it to get our way even before we can speak. Being lied to hurts, but if u are a good person and lie for whatever reasons, it hurts even more.
