    Looks a bit comlicated just to create the shadpws, whuy u don't use regular light with GP ? Those methods U have presentedremind me more AE methods on layers than blender.

      It's actually not complicated at all if you understand how Grease Pencil works. It is similar to AE because there is a layer system. However, it's much easier since you can create the strokes directly in Blender rather than in AE. Also, Grease Pencil doesn't cast shadows.

    This looks really promising. I have nearly finished an animation and only then discovered the lack of shadow casting/receiving in grease pencil. Can't wait to try this out. Cheers!
