Jessica is a lady of charisma. Besides photography, how she gives suggestions and admiting her weakness is really inspiring.
That is what I was thinking and what keeps me coming back to her channel!
unrelated but jessica's blue eye makeup
Omg yes!! 🥺🥺💙 Too pretty
Poppin 🦋🦋
Am I a photographer? No
Do i wanna hire Models? No
Am i still watching this Video? Hell Yes!
Same here lol
We’re just here for Jessica
correct - getting a job in the photography market being a young and cute girl is far easier than with guys... try it! if you are a man, send a lot of mails and check if anyone answers :P
I’ve been doing photography for 6 years and still get anxiety whenever I meet up with models for shoots. That is my one true struggle when it comes to photography 😂
Same here tbh. You’re not alone :)
@@ei3554 thank god 😂 my social anxiety just goes off haha
I literally get so sick to my stomach before a shoot and always think of worse case scenario and think of the shoot failing but it always goes well and I'm super pleased with the results yet I feel the same anxiety with every shoot and it drives me nuts. I freak out all the way up until the day of the shoot for no reason 😑🙄
@@PaigeParanormalXP I’m the exact same way! 😂 you would think it gets easier each time but guess what? It DONT LOL
Thank God I am not alone!!!😂
The hair and make up looking beautiful Jess. Love the wisdom you give to us.
It’s funny that I have never done portrait photography and yet I watch your videos😂
Portrait photography is my biggest weakness.
You, me, and many more people.
sameeee Lol
1. Your makeup is bomb
2. THANK YOU! You have taught me so much over the years and really inspired me
3. You are a skilled in so many ways including teaching. Thank you for always sharing
4. Because of you I’m setting up my square space portfolio soon!
It's great to hear about your journey and realize that now a company like squarespace sponsors your content, wow!
I completely understand how you feel. Model, makeup/hair, assistant and location booking altogether is a logistical nightmare. but once I hopped over all those obstacles, it feels rewarding. and then once I start shooting and then whole shoot turns out amazing. it's another level of accomplishment. thank you for this video.
So lovely to hear you talk about your journey and mention the people that were part of it along the way! I feel like there are so many people who talk about how they made it and NEVER mention who their stylists, HMUAs and other creatives were on projects - people that are so integral to how they got to where they are!
Definitely make a part 2! This was so interesting. I'm a graphic designer with an interest in photography and I wanna learn more about it and practice. Tell me more!!
You could binge watch her videos
I know little about photography but I just came here to say, you are truly an amazing person and you have given me a ton of perspective/respect for photographers.
Part II please!
Really helpful for someone who is starting out. Thank you. Also that blueeee
I love your eye makeup, it’s so pretty🤍
Those bangs and that make up ♥️
thank you so much for your insight on this. doing photography since 2006 and I have always been learning new things, either from books, or other photographers, such as yourself!
I will always be so grateful to you and how you share your tips and experiences within the photography world. Thank you Jess!
I really want to do fashion & portrait photography really bad, and I honestly have no idea where to start. I shoot kind of everything, but with the pandemic it's so hard to find people that are willing to meet honestly.:(
i’m on the other end of this i want to be a model but i don’t know if i have what it takes

Part two please!! Absolutely loved this video, so helpful, and would love to learn even more!
8:05 idk why but I kept watching this😂😂
God bless you Jess, for always being transparent about your work and how you got to where you are now.
Love it! Thank you. I’m starting my photography portfolio and I like the idea of using professional models. Getting into film photography currently.
Thank you for the insight Jess!
Love your vulnerability and honesty. Beyond your talent, I think what sets you apart from other photographers on RUclips is your authenticity. Thank you 🙏
Your hair looks amazing kween!
this is exactly the video i was waiting for 😊
this whole video is so valuable for me. thank you for this 🙏🏽
So helpful, thanks Jess!
I'm surprised this video doesn't have more views. You gave such solid advice while also sharing your experience. This was a great video!!
Thank you Jessica! You made me want to step it up this year and finally start contacting agencies
Just wanted to say that I LOVE your look in this video! Your hair and makeup looks super cute
Thanks for sharing your story and this insight, everyone thinks you just do photography and instantly become successful.
But this is proof that there are a lot of ups and downs, a lot of plans that fell through, and a lot of hard work/patience behind it all. It’s really just a journey of evolution.
Thank you so much for sharing! I am interested in doing test shoots for agencies and this is such wonderful information!
I am so proud of you Jessica. You give me hope as someone who is learning to speak up and have more confidence. Learning from you is really life changing. :)
Awesome video. Love how your hair looks in this video
This video really put some things into perspective for me. Thanks Jessica!
love this look!
I just have to say if blue eyeshadow becomes a thing again it will be because you👏🏼 started 👏🏼the 👏🏼trend! 🤩
I'm especially impressed with how good you are and how much you've accomplished at such a young age. You can be proud! 👏😁
thanks for your informative videos!
Thank u! this was so interesting! Ur haircut look so cute alsoooo
This is very helpful - thank you 🙏
Jessica, this is so helpful, thank you 🤗
Love this video and the information you shared! I noticed that you do a lot of photoshoots outdoor, what is your back-up plan when you have everything planned out but it rained or whatever? (The weather forecast in my country is terrible) Tell us more about your back-up plans or experience! For example when a makeup artist cancelled on you at the last minute etc. Thank you so much!
Great tips! Thank you!
I love her reaction and her vlog
I want that ! 💜💜
heyyyy you got bangs!! they look fantastic parted down the middle like that! Its giving me a lot of "french fashion" feels.
Cat is sleeping beacause your voice is relaxing)
I just want to take better photos for scrapbooking and just to make amazing memories with my loved ones, thank you for sharing all your experiences! Photography seems like a really intimidating career to jump into and this video should hopefully help others!
Girl the blue eyeshadow with the peachy top is soooooooooo freakin cute! Had to pause the video 12 seconds in to tell you that; you're super gorgeous and talented! 😊💙
dude you are a gold mine for photographers like me.
Dam Jessica, So proud of you actully and thank you for these videos, I am not into all fotography and staff but I really like to wach these tipes of videos, specially yours, because it is really inspiring. Please do more of these types of videos were you share gold information!
Your hair looks great!
Your new hair style looks great in you
Thank you for the info
Have you done any photography with bands? I mostly shoot bands on stage (smaller stages), but I would love more tips around that! I can do pretty decent profile pictures, but I would love more tips around shooting bands...specially more "edgy" bands like metal.
Thanks for the video, I’ve just started but look to get into this side of photography once I’ve practiced enough and built a portfolio, so this was helpful. In regards to the makeup and look, is the “less is more” something that’s always the case in the industry or something that does change over time? Or is it just roll with the style I like and hope to get in with that?
OMG your hair 😍
can u do more of taking photos of strangers?
How do you start to make money as a fashion photographer?
Tashi is so gorgeous ✨✨
Ow I like ur hairstyle 🤩✨🌼
I see exactly why the models you work with become your friends. You seem like you're really easy to talk to and get along with, but at the same time you have the toughness and will tell it like it is. I wish I was in your league so that I could work with you!!! 🖤🖤
You did the bangs :D
Thank you so much for this. Do the agencies eventually pay you for shooting their models?
You are funny fam. Thanks for the info.
Jessica, this video is fantastic, exactly what aspiring photographers need to hear. Agencies WANT to be contacted by young photographers looking to do test shoots in order to develop their young models.
You forgot the link to the boooook, im so curious :D Amazing video!!
When do you know when you should reach out to agencies?
I love your hair
Do agencies pay for photo tests..? I often work with freelancers on TFP terms and they sign a contract to give me the rights to use their photos for promotional & commercial purposes. Cause if I dont get paid then I need to have the right to those photos. I don’t think agencies would let their models sign over the rights to photos even if it’s TFP. So my concern is they can just tell me to not use the photos of their models any time. I’m scared to do anything without a contract after having been burnt many times.
How do you make money working with models tho? I tried researching but I never found an answer.😭 Is it just for filling your portfolio or do agencies and/or models pay the photographer?
I’ve been paid 0 times by a model. The everyday person is more likely to pay. It’s usually been to fill my portfolio that has lead to paid gigs. Just my own personal experience.
i think about this all the time. especially when there’s a model working with a photographer for a youtube challenge. where it’s a partnership, but how do they both get paid
In the beginning you mentioned how you get paid for working with models from agencies. I would love to hear how you went about that!
Love u, Jessica! You're very funny, esp when u roast ANTM judges!!
looking soooooo beautiful
Omg! I just realized she does look like that cambello girls!
WHAT does this video have? Talent
I wanted to get into photography for so long, Tried something with landscape, but that stuff is hard!
Your face in the thumbnail is so cute 😝
May i know where the book is?
I'm getting Camila Cabello vibes here.
Same feeling haha
Why does this video only have 13k views :/ CRAZZYY
Where is the link to the book making? Cheers!
do you think the photography you did requires portraits as anecessary or some job like that could be without portrait photos.
Also do you still work as the same thing when you sent that email (Fashion and portrait )photographer.
in the email you say new faces to work/test, you were expecting to get paid for this? what did you talk with the interviewer later about this? did she asked you prices or stuff like that?
ps i love your videos youre the best!
Do you have to pay to work with the models or do they pay you?
Still waiting for the link of that book😭❤️
Hi Jessica, I found your comment 13:00 about agencies wanting simple looks very interesting. I've always wondered why model portfolios on agency websites are so dull! It seems that it would be hard to do interesting work that will differentiate you by doing these agency portfolio shoots?
I'm curious. Did the agency you had an interview with in Chicago give you a response?
✨Passion for Fashion ✨ we stan Bratz!!
Ah I knew that I know that phrase😂
I once saw on some TV show about girls growing up where the secret was to apply make up so that it looks like your not wearing any make up at all. Maybe it was Full House. I guess that seems like a good place to start, but I'm just a straight dude who knows nothing about using make up. I just like watching your channel.
It would be great if you show those pictures on video .
It will help us understanding clothing for photoshoot .
I would love to know the logistics! Who pay for what in your beginning freelance model shoots? Who works for who? How collaborative is it as a creative effort and a business?
What happened to the Fiverr video?
Heavy makeup is the worst. I think every makeup artist should start taking photos so they can see for themselves why heavy makeup is problematic for a photographer. Great makeup can never replace great skin.
❤️
I didn't see the link in the video for your photo book...
Do you get paid from the agencies for these portraits?
Do any male photographers out there style their own shoots?
I usually coordinate with the models/clients and let them know what I’m looking for, or they will give me their vision and If they ask for suggestions then I’ll provide it. They send me different options/combinations and go from there.
@@TonyNomadic yeah that's pretty much what I do now, but I'm wondering how to take it to the next level incase a model doesn't have the style I like. Sometimes I work with stylists but for the same price I could essentially build my own wardrobe
Wow tu piel está impecable....tu vídeo mas
