- Low anterior resection (LAR), also known as restorative proctectomy, is a surgical operation performed to treat cancer in the rectum. In this procedure, a portion or the entirety of the rectum is removed. The end of the healthy colon is then connected to the remaining rectum or anus to reconstruct the gastrointestinal tract.

I underwent this surgery a week back and I'm watching this video from home while recovering. This was very helpful. Thanks for this video!
Nice presentation, helpful video and in plain english. Good to know I have other options. Went through the procedure's aka CT, PET and MRI scans since I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma metastatic rectal cancer (has spread to my liver) a year ago. Radiotherapy is in the talks as well as stoma. Exploring other options.
Still doing Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy since my tumor markers (CEA) went back up and still having GI issues and fecal incontinence.
Very helpfully informative 👌🏻👏🏻
