BTW the GA47 sounds awesome considering the 1700-1800 dollar price tag. We have the GA47ext and it is 3200 dollars and sound soo close the our U47 m7 from 86 its insane.

the one thing I can say about the golden age mics is that the standard series (GA47, 251) are pretty sloppily constructed for the price tag. Great circuit, good components. The Extended series looks very well made.

Theater are all very nice. Of course u47 is really the best, but GA and WA have that similar big low end and size really good fo the last singer. M147 is a modern take and different flavor but still first class. Maybe the WA is a touch more aggressive in upper frequencies, maybe it's my headphones but I would gladly own any of them.

That's what I think as well - the U47 has an astonishing top end! Warm and crystal clear at the same time... :) This one has a M7 capsule btw.
