Hi. Great review thanks. I’ve passed 150 miles in mine and although I still very much enjoy running in them I do feel that the midsole has lost some of its early magic. My trails I run on here in the uk are not technical and mostly gravel or firm terrain so don’t have the grip problems you had on muddy ground. I thought about buying the newly released V2 but after much research went for the saucony ride 15 TR instead and looking forward to testing them out when they arrive this week. Ian 🇬🇧
Thanks Ian, always great to hear others experiences as well. I should hit 150 miles in them after this morning's run. Hoping the Saucony's treat you well 🤞 I'm a big fan of the Peregrine's myself, but they're definitely on my radar to try out.
Good review. I now have close to 500km in my Ultra Glides and I really like them for some use cases. For me, they feel a tad unstable on very technical trails and they do not provide the "connected to the ground" feel and agility I like. I also agree that not only do these shoes get soaked up quickly, but they drain very poorly... if water gets in, you are in for a swampy ride. As far as durability goes, mine are still fine after close to 500km. The lugs are really worn out in my highest wear area but they still perform fine. I kinda expect that after that much running in a shoe anyway. Quick note with regards to the UG2. The Salomon website still mentions a 6mm drop (but 3.5mm lugs) and makes no mention of the blade. I think you might have models mixed up there...
Thanks Nicolas, good to hear you got 500K out of them so far. Yeah, I saw, they changed their website some time after the review went live. That being said, they're now available and I'm very tempted to pick a pair of the Ultra Glide 2 up.
@@Curtis_Muller Yeah my UG1 are still going strong and I still use them regularly. That being said I moved on from being a "Salomon guy" and now use mostly something else for my trail runs. I will still wear my UG1 and the few pairs of Sense Ride 4 (still my favorite Salomon trail shoe) I have until they die, but for my main trail runs I now use something else.
@@Curtis_Muller I have actually moved to the Norda 001 and absolutely love them. They are now officially my goto trail shoe. You can see my first impressions of the shoe on my channel but I have since put 450-500 kms on them and they are the best trail shoes I have ever tried. They do run a bit short and Norda recommend going up half a size fwiw. If you have questions about them feel free to ask me!
That's what I've heard, I'm going to try them this week, unfortunately I'm a size 13 and the next jump seems to be straight to 14, which they also don't stock locally.
Good review! I just get a v2 recently today. This video helps me so much on what should I aware of. What do you think to running with this shoe on snow?
Cool channel & nice review! Salomon must have updated the website because I don’t see any mention of the TPU plate and the drop is 6mm. The lug depth went from 4 to 3.5mm. The main change is increased protection on the upper.
That shoe is not good for you! Look at how your big toe is splaying over the outsole in the first two seconds of this video. You should use a much wider toe box. Please pay attention to your feet.

What have you moved on to?
I’m looking at both the Norda 001 (if they fit) or potentially a pair a Hoka’s next.

Nice review! You get all the info out there so concisely!
Thanks Grant!
Nice review👍 and it felt pretty good for first 50-60k then mid sole cushion isn't crisp/bouncy anyone.
Cheers and wish you happy trails from Italy, pk
Thanks Paul, and happy trails! I'd love to run in Italy, the Dolomites are high up on my running wish list.
@@Curtis_Muller Let me know if you're heading towards this way. It's magical and you're going to love it. 🙏 😊
Great concise review, thank you! Just waiting on my pair to arrive..!
Thank you!

Thank you! I just double checked and you're completely correct, they dropped any mention of a TPU plate from their website.
My wife got this shoes and cut the laces thinking it was the tag 😂

Thanks for your concern Martin! You're right, as runners taking care of our feet is incredibly important.
