bearings don’t matter as much as you would think, some of the 13 fishing reels have zero ball bearings

I use here in Hawaii a rod which we call a “Ulua rod” which just generally means it is massive and is meant for casting out hundreds of feet from shore to catch a Ulua, AKA a gt (giant trevally) and those are 2-3 inches thick at the base and about 15+ feet long. 14 is very short compared to the rest of the world

I think that the long rod was a course fishing rod that was designed for casting a small bait a very long way and a lot of anglers in the U.K. now use long surf rods as many have found that the extra length does add to your casting distance

This is very cool I need a small rod lol there's a river near my school and there's fish and on lunch hour we can go wherever we want as long as we get back on time and I could just have in in my bag
For those tiny rigs, they're meant for bait fish. Amazing little things, I'll set a little pompano rig on it then throw it in a spillway with some breaded gum (Yes, this works surprisingly well) and hook up some tiny mayan cichlid for bait. Then I'll chuck it on my bigger rig. 😂

as an avid fisher of European pike I can say that the size of the rod doesn't matter fishing skill and determination are the keys I caught some monster pike on questionable rods I was dirt poor as a kid/teenager so low-budget rods and flea market rods were my things now I discount the flea market ones because they used to be expensive rods so they were great the discount rods of the 1980s and 1990s were better than the crap one's today and even with inflation way cheaper!
I had a kiddy small rod for catching bait and perch so my line was quite thick well a roach bit the magot and a 60-inch pike ate the roach it took an hour but I got it on the bank!

This was so funny to watch. These guys just know how to catch Bass. They were both able to take rods purposed for other type fishing and made it work for them which to me anyway, really shows these guys ability. Better than I am by far but watching stuff like this is a good education for me.
