    Frida is incredible. I don't like picking my favorite ABBA singer but she is without a doubt the best of two incredible women. I just don't think Phil did her justice.

    Wow this is so incredible. Hearing Phil the lyrics and Frida trying them out. This is literally priceless. I'm so glad to be witness to this.

    Very sorry for Frida here around 3.00 mins, she is wiping away tears. Phil a bit hard on her criticising her "pronunciation"!! Excuse me Phil but Frida is from the top Super Group ABBA. Pronunciation never was a problem. She's a star 🌟 A legend. 👏🏽👏🏽💕 Listen to your own accent Phil! 👎🏽 Such a legend doesn't deserve that.

      I think you're missing the point. She's singing a different kind of music with Phil than she did with Abba. Its a little harder-edged than she's used to singing, and Phil's just trying to get her to expand her vocal sensibilities. The stuff she sang with Abba was very one-dimensional and Phil was trying to expand her range and singing style. Nothing wrong with that. Remember, she chose HIM as her producer because she knows he's not only an incredible drummer/songwriter but a musician cum-laude. I mean, the guy is a legend with his songwriting and drumming abilities. You have to be to write/play the stuff he did with Genesis. Do you think that "Something Going On" would have been the massive hit that it was without his influence and direction? Not a chance. The drumming alone was what drove the song, and the production of the rest of it was just stunning. She probably wouldn't have had a shot at a successful solo career without him.

    I am huge fan of Phil Collins, but what he says about the pronunciation issue here did not make sense to me. Frida is a superb singer and did not have pronunciation issue. If everybody hears and understands what you say, even though your first language is not English, then you do not have a pronunciation issue, it's called accent and it's very normal. Speaking of Frida's singing, a career full of international success , that's not even an issue.

    • @jrvr9559

      Funny that he had anything to say about her pronunciation when it's actually him who can barely be understood: for the most part in this video he's basically mumbling and babbling.

    • @JamesMoore-un3cu
      @JamesMoore-un3cu 2 дня назад

      @@jrvr9559 You people are talking about PHIL COLLINS, who is not only a phenomenal musician, but a songwriter with MASSIVE talent. When you play with GENESIS, you have to be the best, and he absolutely is. Abba is candy store pop in comparison to Genesis. And the musicianship behind someone like Collins goes heads and tails above anything Abba ever wrote or performed. They're from different planets. And I understand accents come through the singing. But he wasn't trying to correct her accent as much as her vocal range and sensibilities. She would have never had as recognized of a solo career without someone of his caliber to influence that process. Think about that.

    Accent asides Anni Frid is Swedish and they had succeeded much back in the 70s without PRONUNCIATION issue and people loves them and their tongues. Other members of ABBA prefers not going on stage or tv anymore. Frida is too professional.

    Now we know how severe FRIDA's post ABBA albums are without the incredible musical wizardry of Bjorn & Benny and the killer Backing Vocals from the powerhouse Vocalist Agnetha after watching this. Both the ABBA dudes are in a league of their own when it comes to Composing, Music Arrangement and killer Vocal Harmony arrangements. FRIDA is no doubt a high quality Vocalist and Performer, but the world grew to love her cos of her amazing VOCAL magic whenever Agnetha and her vocals are combined. Now that the other 3 ABBA members are no longer in the picture, it is no easy feat to live up to her ABBA heavyweight reputation. Like it or not....FRIDA needs AGNETHA.... and AGNETHA needs FRIDA....and both Girls need Bjorn & Benny.....AND both Bjorn & Benny need the 2 girls too. This is why ABBA is so special. The moment you remove 1 member, the result will be catastrophic....what more 3 members? FRIDA .... I know you tried your best, and life goes on. You fought a good fight and I applaud you for that.

      Although I wasn't always a fan of ABBA I believe most of what you said was true. The Beatles made it one their own, but that is extremely rare. Rare also is the ABBA combination and energy.
      It's like swimming in warm turquoise Caribbean salt water, from a white sandy beach with palm trees hanging over the shore.
      All the ingredients make the magic with them. Even when they weren't all in love with each other, they still played off each other in combinations. I love what they did.

      Dude, you're on crack. The phenomenal influence of a person the caliber of Phil Collins is what MAKES the music. Abba is teeny bopper pop, at its best. Phil, on the other hand, wrote and played INCREDIBLE music with Genesis and on his own. Just listen to any track off "And Then There Were Three".. stunning. Abba's music was not horrible, but it was really not all that special, and most people here are starstruck with that band, but I have no idea why.

    Phil Collins may have wanted to watch a few older ABBA & Frida videos-- but then he might have found out they all had more talent and training than he ever had. He's talking about HER pronunciation?? When he sounds like an illiterate with a mouthful of marbles? The reason she may have had a difficult time with his songs is that they were crap. Something's Going On isn't bad, if you like screechy, monotone 80s music, but it was general 80s fluff and too high and whiny for her rich voice. He wrote a few nice basic tunes that all sound similar, certainly nothing along the lines of Benny's composing. Highly overrated. She was extremely gracious to put up with his incoherent mumblings and pointless ramblings and she certainly showed her class when she said she could learn something from him (he could bang a drum. So could Little Ricky at the age of 4 on I Love Lucy). She started in jazz when he was a sprout. Frida was born with talent. Now Jon Lord, he could compose. Frida's career slipped when she recorded with Collins.

      You guys might want to take at peek his Wikipedia profile-- there is a lot of scathing criticism there and the 'praise' reads more like a defence from friends. He admitted he couldn't even stand himself during the period he worked with Frida. He also lists all the drum machines he uses and a vocoder to 'enhance' his voice. I'm certainly not the only one to say his ballads could almost flow together without much of a noticeable change. Some of the world's best artists who actually know him share my opinion. His collaboration with Adele ended suddenly-- I wonder why? I mean he did condescend to say he "liked some of her stuff" and then turned around and called Paul McCartney "a patronizing fuck"-- talk about the kettle and the pot, but it was probably because he disagreed with him. Benny and Bjorn have turned out complex musical scores, which, as a brass-playing musician, I can read-- can you? So maybe not so much misinformed as 'pretty close to the truth.' I will admit some of his songs are nice-- but very simply constructed. As for being a record producer, well, that takes more money and power over the mixing boards, than talent. It's the sound technicians who do that anyway, but whomever is paying the bills can fiddle with the boards all they like. He has sold a lot of records, but I think David Cassidy sold more in his era.
