In the blue sedan we didn't get much further!!!!!!!!! The GODS of music gave this song to us through YES... We can do nothing but shoot high aim low and hope our spirit equals our souls temprement.... I do nothing but bow to the greatest GOD that there is.... He gives beauty in of itself.... so that we may cry at joy.....
James Cameron is clearly one of us. This film was burning since his youth in his heart. He stands up for the rain forests and the natives. He cares deeply for the planet and its people. Yes and avatar fit perfectly, even if the film music fantastically well. You recognized and combines beautifully. Thank you for that.
Outstanding marriage of two exceptional art forms. Thank you for a moving revisit to such a historic film and personal favorite of Yes. count me one of your fans
Avatar was a great movie. It would have been immortal with Yes in the soundtrack (Gates of Delirium middle section while HomeTree was felled, etc.) as obviously the art direction was lifted entirely from Roger Dean's work. Nice work here JimLad800.
When I first heard this song I thought it was about some kind of war? So it fits perfectly with the scenery of this great movie! I could also imagine hearing Elias of sunhillow which was the solo project by the lead singer of the band Yes!
We hit the blue fields In the blue sedan we didn't get much further Just as the sun was rising in the mist We were all alone we didn't need much more So fast this expedition So vast this heavy load With a touch of luck and a sense of need Seeing the guns and their faces We look around the open shore Waiting for something Shoot high break low Aim high shoot low Break high let go Shoot high aim low This was to be our last ride With the steel guitar and the love you give me Underneath the skin a feeling, a breakdown Well we sat for hours on the crimson sand Exchanges in the currency of humans bought and sold And the leaders seem to lose control Shall we lose ourselves for a reason Shall we burn ourselves for the answer Have we found the place that we're looking for Someone shouted "open the door" Lookout Shoot high break low Aim high shoot low Feeling of imagination Break high let go Shoot high aim low Shoot high aim low Nothing you can say Shoot high let go Takes me by surprise Shoot high aim low Who says's there's got to be a reason Shoot high let go Who says there's got to be an answer We were all alone, we didn't need much more Shoot high aim low The sun's so hard on this endless highway Shoot high let go Shoot high aim low I've heard the singers, who sing of love Shoot high let go In the blue sedan we never got much further Shoot high aim low
harhar, shiver me timbers JimLad! this be one of the best video/music combos i have seen on the youtube since it started, me hearty! seriously,.. well done!
Absolutely brilliant. I wanted to do something like this with Tales From Topographic Oceans or Olias of Sunhillow excerpts. But this song is perfectly right
I'm opening a pool on how long it'll be before any Avatar fanboys/girls and/or haters show up here. Who wants to place some bets? Anyway another good video JimLad. Keep it up.
I remember when this song was sparsely being played on FM radio in '87, and I was blown away by it. I was for sure it was going to be a "big hit". Unfortunately, I was wrong and we know the turn for the worse popular music has taken the last two decades. But hey, we can still enjoy great music like this anyways, eh?
Unspeakable breathtaking excellency in this piece of music. unfortunately the rest of the album lags behind very much. Nevertheless this one is sheer beauty.
really al I was brought up on Yes . passed to me from mom and pop. and sat outstanding match of a great song and movie, although Cameron gave no kudos to Mr dean. I still watch it a least 4 or 5 times a week! by the way al my first yes show was1973 Peter Frampton opened up. jfk stadium in philly 8 yrs. old good ol mom and pop!!!
And your starting question for 10 in regards to the appropriateness of uncannily seamless link between the visuals of Avatar and the music of Yes is embodied by which artists fantastical design work is?
Ok does anybody remember the version of this song where the video was a compilation of Roger Deans art?? Alot of it was cover art I believe, at least I recognize quite a few of the panels from the google list of his images. So, ANYBODY?? I have no idea why it was pulled, but if SOMEBODY could either repost or send me a link to it that would be AWESOME!!!!! Thanks...
@JimLad800 yes, i came looking fora mariogalaxy 2 tribute considering how incredibly moving your first one was. Of course, I love many of your music videos and will subscribe :) Any timeframe for the SMG2 tribute now?
Hmm, the battle scenes seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the material you used. Good choice of music though. Nice to see you moving to the more symphonic side of rock as well (: Does this improve the chances of another video with Queen music as well? XP
Great Song, did'nt stay on the radio "i left that out to play while im taken akrapp"D.J. play list 4 very long.Thats what made it great for the time you rarely heard it played.Howeverthe pairing with cartoon is a bit much, besides did'nt Mr Spock get pissed with some white boy doin his wife?
Yes y Roger dean deverian demandar a James Cameron, todo el mundo de AVATAR es un robo del trabajo que hace mas de 30 años desarrollaron estos artistas del rock progresivo
yes fan since i was 13 am in my 40s an this is shit,i never thought i would say that about a yes track sayin that after tormato i personally think they turned into american macca like journey this could be them infact,shite..
Man this song goes perfectly with the movie. Just perfect 👌
A timeless classic paired with a timeless classic. Mmmmm
An appropriate band for the Avatar visuals.
The "floating mountains" in that movie reminded me so much of old Yes album covers.

I liked it. The music is fitting with the scenic wonderment of the video. IMO.
Maybe it's because Cameron used the ideas of Roger Dean, the famous cover painter for bands like "YES"?... )

Perfect music for Avatar's flight scenes. Great match.
Dammit man! The perfect match of visuals and sound! Matches the old Yes album covers flawlessly. Well done.
No, excellently done!
Outstanding marriage of two exceptional art forms. Thank you for a moving revisit to
such a historic film and personal favorite of Yes. count me one of your fans
Outstanding Song , Matched By A Fantastic Film ❤
I wish this video had high resolution remake.
If it never gets to happen I will do it myself.
Nicely done. Excellent song for the scenes, excellent mix.
Perfect! My eyes never welled up watching the movie.
This tune is exactly about the futility of war.
Well done vision and vibration meld as one, who would not be moved by this joining.
All the time I was watching the movie I kept thinking it needed music by Yes. You just proved me right. Great mix of movie and music.

It is always good to remember things from the past and ponder the future.
Thank you! Incredible editing!
Fantastic Video / Music combination. I'm a Big fan of Yes and Roger Dean.
Beautiful and probably profetic

We hit the blue fields
In the blue sedan we didn't get much further
Just as the sun was rising in the mist
We were all alone we didn't need much more
So fast this expedition
So vast this heavy load
With a touch of luck and a sense of need
Seeing the guns and their faces
We look around the open shore
Waiting for something
Shoot high break low
Aim high shoot low
Break high let go
Shoot high aim low
This was to be our last ride
With the steel guitar and the love you give me
Underneath the skin a feeling, a breakdown
Well we sat for hours on the crimson sand
Exchanges in the currency of humans bought and sold
And the leaders seem to lose control
Shall we lose ourselves for a reason
Shall we burn ourselves for the answer
Have we found the place that we're looking for
Someone shouted "open the door"
Lookout
Shoot high break low
Aim high shoot low
Feeling of imagination
Break high let go
Shoot high aim low
Shoot high aim low
Nothing you can say
Shoot high let go
Takes me by surprise
Shoot high aim low
Who says's there's got to be a reason
Shoot high let go
Who says there's got to be an answer
We were all alone, we didn't need much more
Shoot high aim low
The sun's so hard on this endless highway
Shoot high let go
Shoot high aim low
I've heard the singers, who sing of love
Shoot high let go
In the blue sedan we never got much further
Shoot high aim low
Holy Crap! Guess Cameron really was writing the screenplay to this song while staring at Roger Dean's album cover.
Wondrous editing/combination....thanks....
this is one seriously good video and music combo, JimLad800, and definitely one of the best i've seen on youtube since it started.
Great idea to use the imagery from Avatar w/ this awesome track from Big Generator!!
your editing is exceptional and the breakdown - snare drum part was done to perfection
very cool and well put together! thanks!
Thanks Jim for the nice editing.
Very well done
Brilliant! Simply brilliant!

FABULOUS !!! THANK YOU !
Divine Intervention.
think low sing high
Very Impressive, love it. I've been passing this on to friends. They love it too. Thanks for posting.
It would have been considerate on some level for Cameron to pay a little respect to Roger Dean and his obvious influence. Maybe he has, I don't know?
Jim lad ur the best ty

I am not a big fan of the late 80's version of Yes, but I make an exception to this song.
And your starting question for 10 in regards to the appropriateness of uncannily seamless link between the visuals of Avatar and the music of Yes is embodied by which artists fantastical design work is?
Roger Dean.
gute Auswahl
Relayer the best album
cool
@JimLad800 Follow up to the previous Don't Stop Me Now one? Sweet.
And the leaders seem to lose control.

It was ordered removed after Dean lost his case against Cameron.
classic song from yes
how are you able to post these vids and not get them removed for copyright?
WoW
Civilization is possibly catching up with Yes,just possibly maybe not.
@JimLad800 yes, i came looking fora mariogalaxy 2 tribute considering how incredibly moving your first one was.
Of course, I love many of your music videos and will subscribe :)
Any timeframe for the SMG2 tribute now?
Roger Dean did the art for yes
Hmm, the battle scenes seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the material you used.

And fittingly, Dean is now suing Fox and Cameron for $50 million.
0:38 Modeled from the cover of YesYears?
@Jefgg lol!
DICEN QUE LE ROBARON LA IDEA A ROGER DEAN EL CREADOR DE LAS CARATULAS DE YES...Y HUBO UN LITIGIO DE TODO ESO..IGNORO EN QUE QUEDO DEESPUES.
interesting
was this song in the movie?
+James Rockford Not to my knowledge
James Rockford naw but when I seen Avatar I thought of YES throughout the entire movie
+JimLad800 need to do a version with the part that they go to war #LeaveIt
@TheCorezero00 If you watch or download 'Awaken' ..that has moving '3d' animation at start of video (1 version",
just a suggestion, sincere,
David
Yes y Roger dean deverian demandar a James Cameron, todo el mundo de AVATAR es un robo del trabajo que hace mas de 30 años desarrollaron estos artistas del rock progresivo
arent you proud of your prejudices :))))
yes fan since i was 13 am in my 40s an this is shit,i never thought i would say that about a yes track sayin that after tormato i personally think they turned into american macca like journey this could be them infact,shite..
