I thought they were so sweet and right up my alley. I love older books and what is considered vintage books so I seem to gravitate towards those BookTubers who share and review those. I enjoy hearing your thoughts and learning about new authors that I have never heard of. I’ve actually bought a couple of new books based on yours and your mother’s recommendations. I am happy to hear that you are sticking with RUclips. Please don’t get down on yourself thinking you won’t “ever be a big BookTuber” because there are a lot more of us who prefer your content over the shiny new books and BookTubers with all the bells and whistles. Your style, your voice, your comfy chair, and your book shelves are very comforting and it motivates me to dig into my books that I have collected over the years but never had time to read because of working full-time (I’m retired now) or staying busy being a wife and a mother to four children who are now basically grown and allows me more downtime. I look forward to watching more of your videos (you also mention a lot of the same BookTubers I enjoy as well) and hopefully participating in reading some of the same books you will be this year! Keep up the great work and I know you will continue to gain more subscribers! I pray that 2025 brings you many blessings and that each day you find a reason to smile because are smiling with you! Congratulations on a year! Stay true to yourself for your BookTube, no bells and whistles required. Most of my reading is British fiction from the 40’s -60’s. I do read some new books, but these older ones remain my favorites. I like authors like D. E. Stevenson, Molly Clavering, Barbara Pym, Dorothy Whipple, Elizabeth Cadell, Ruby Ferguson, R. C. Sherriff, and Susan Scarlett. And also Miss Read’s Thrush Green series, haven’t tried Fairacre yet. I also think Georgette Heyer’s Regency romances (Arabella was ok, but I liked others more). I also enjoy mysteries from that era, Christie and Patricia Wentworth as a couple. So I’m fine with backlists. 😊❤️ Have you ever tried Miranda Mills or Lil’s Vintage World channels? I found them during Covid and that started me on this journey of these books and I’m forever grateful for that! Happy New Year!

Congrats on your 1 year Booktube anniversary!! ❤ You should definitely do the videos you enjoy (and only continue Booktube if you enjoy it) and read books you enjoy above all else. I really love that you don't edit and don't have special effects. It makes me feel like I'm have a book talk with a friend. I wish more Booktubers would do that as well. I also love that you have meaningful discussions in the comments with us. Not many Booktubers do that so that makes your channel unique. In the last few years, I've limited my book buying to 12 books or less per year and that has worked well for me. It makes me read what I have, go to my library more, and really think about my purchases. I haven't felt restricted at all. My only other bookish goals for 2025 are reading the latest book in cozy mystery series that I'm continuing and continuing my blog. After that I'm just mood reading. Good luck with your 2025 goals! A whole year of RWYO? No book-buying for a year? I've been too easy on myself. I was thinking of some other namby-pamby plan, like only buying after I've read/donated a certain number. But, you know what? If you can do it (with your legitimate caveats), I can do it too, by golly. I just did the math. If I continue reading at the pace I'm reading now, I have 4 YEARS worth of unread books on my shelves. I'll be 70 by the time I've read them all...just in time for my girls to move me to a nursing home. HA! Just kidding! (I hope.)
