Just for clarity, Tintin is from Belgium, I don't know if the original books are set in Belgium or France, it's hard to say since French is the language spoken in Belgium. The English versions always changed the location to London, I'm guessing because Thomson and Thompson are the most British looking men in the history of media
The ancestor of captain Haddock was French and lived in Marlinspike (Moulinsart), it take place in France.
Spielberg and Jackson (before making the movie), were badly received by the 2nd wife of Hergé (the creator of Tintin), and her current husband.
Jackson wanted to break a chair after that.
They are not called Thomson and Thompson in "vo" books
In French, they are called "Dupont et Dupond", as Snowy is called "Milou".

It's 100% set in Belgium, Tintin is a reporter for an old Belgian newspaper and lives in Brussels. It's honestly kinda shocking that they go as far as to change the locations for the translations, imagine harry Potter taking place in Belgium instead.

This movie managed to get the motion capture right when the Polar Express did it so wrong. That’s just what six years will do. As for what game I would personally like to see from the both of you, one of the Paw Patrol games because of their new movie coming this Friday.
I think it’s more wild that this and Rango had really good motion capture…and then Disney years later can barely make a decent motion capture when they would have sadly outdone this movie with their stupid name alone. I’m really sad we never got a sequel, though there was one in the works I believe.

Polar Express is really not that bad. The motion capture isnt the best but I still like the animation style enough. Still love it.

Spielberg and Jackson managed to make a movie of Tintin by actually reading the sources materials, and getting the characters right.

I remember BEGGING my parents to get this game when I was little, I played it for hours on end, the minigame where you play as Haddock's ancestor always cracked me up because of the amount of made up swears per second you'd get if you just waved the Wii remote like crazy. (yes, this was on the Wii as well)
Oh my goodness yes!! Shaking the Wii remote was hilarious!😂 I had the Wii and 3DS version of the game, and the swordfighting portion was the best
I’m late to the party but I had it on the Wii too and played it so much 😂 I thought it was a great game and looking back I can see how cringey and bizarre it really is😂
i loved the books back in the day. when the movie came out i was a bit scared that it would suck because of the reputation of adaptations. but i was pleasantly suprised. its a pretty fun movie

I love this game. Even as an adult, I still play it for fun, even the mini games.
It says that Tintin was born in 1929 and Herge (the author) set him at 15 in the first book and then he only aged to about 19 by the last one!
Titin could theoretically still be alive and kicking at the age of 94!!!!

Tintin and Snowy are such weird names when you grow up in Germany where they're called Tim and Struppi 😂👌

@@LaDiDanielle In Belgium they have three different names; Kuifje & Bobbie in the Dutch version, Tintin & Milou in the French version, Tim & Struppi in the German version.
I grew up in England and Tintin is still a weird ass name 😂I'm actually very surprised that it's only for the English version and that he's not just called Tintin globally seeing as it doesn't even remotely resemble an English name. "Tim" would have made a lot more sense lmfao. It makes me wonder what the reason was for changing his name to Tintin because it can't have been to make it more familiar to an English speaking audience because it's not an English sounding name. We don't have any names that are just repeated like that.
@@Notpoop906 Tintin is the original name. Because Hergé, the author, was from the french part of belgium, the original comics were written in French. Tintin is his name in the original version. Milou is the name of the dog, Dupond et Dupont are the two cops, Tournesol is the scientist, etc etc.
Love it how Tintin murders and paralyses a team of butlers all because his model ship got stolen.
I remember playing the 3DS version of this game, didn’t have voices or animated cutscenes (expectable from most ports on the 3DS) but was kinda fun.
i remember as a kid i always found the bike chase scene in the desert hilarious because instead of using guns you used rock slingshots

I have memories of watching the TinTin cartoon on Nickelodeon way back in the day. Now I own the entire series on DVD and each episode pretty much does a 1 to 1 adaption of the comics. And the movie was awesome! Glad the boys here are both fans and that the game is actually good. And now, a quick fun fact:
Snowy's original French name was Milou-an abbreviation of Marie-Louise-and was borrowed from the nickname of Hergé's (TinTin's creator) first girlfriend, Marie-Louise Van Cutsem. The translators thought that a French product wouldn't sell well in an English market. In order to make it seem less French, they decided to Anglicise the names quite a bit. Futhermore, "Snowy" was chosen not just because the dog is white, but also, it takes up roughly the same amount of space in a speech bubble as "Milou".
Fun fact: the film tintin and the secret of the unicorn is based off one if it’s comics

There was a mobile tie in game, which I really liked back in the day. It was one of the most high quality titles for that generation of mobile and I remember you could play really good sword combat against Red Rackham.
Okay so! Tintin is Belgian but because in Belgium we have a region where people speaks French and onther where we speak dutch. Tintin lives in Brussels where they speak both. That is why there is French and originaly Tintin came from the French region of our country.
In Belgium there is a French and Dutch speaking part and the creator Hergé is from the French part

Man I liked the classical TimTim books in school when I was a kid in the 90's and early 00s I heard of this game once at GameStop or Walmart lol.
I had the Tintin in Tibet SNES games years later, it was difficult as hell.. 😂

I actually own this for the wii although I don’t remember any of the side scrolling sections i think they were replaced with finding clues around areas although there was a extremely enjoyable sword fighting mini game

This is so spooky because today...I came across a photo in my textbook of what a forensic scientist believed Jesus Christ actually looked like and he looked like freaking Captain Haddock and I was cackling about it for like ten minutes. Anyways, I love TinTin, love the 2011 movie, and have been wanting to see someone play this game for a while so thank you.
Loved the comics. In Germany they called it "Tim und Struppi". Struppi was the white dog.

its a great game for me , used to play with my brother that went to military school at the time, he was rarely at home so i spend my time with him playing coop games and thats why i love it so much. now we're adults rarely see each other, it reminds me the times when everything was simpler

Just discovered your channel! I absolutely loved this game! Very well crafted. Love the mix of different camera angles - while the majority of the game is a side-scroller platformer pretty much, also loved the amazing transitions in 3rd person gameplay style. It's certainly fun, the combat, the environmental puzzles, the levels! The story was compelling, just as in the original movie too!
WTF ARE THOSE ATTACKS? Tintin's sneak takedowns makes him a character for splinter cell or Modern COD

Don’t know if you’ll read this, but thank you for playing it. It’s one of my favourite games that I played growing up. That soundtrack is beautiful as well. Christoph Herale (he did the rayman origins soundtrack) composed every beautiful song in this game!

Spielberg's TinTin was such a better Uncharted adventure than the actual Uncharted movie, the guy who played TinTin even looks like the blueprint for Tom Holland's face.

Back in 2013, my mom bought a new tv for the livingroom, and it happened to have 3D capabilities.
So i got to play black ops 2, and Mortal Kombat 9 in 3D, which actually looked quite good.

technically, there's sadly just 23 books. the last one, the Alph-art was never finished, because Hergé died.
I myself made an entire Tintin comic, it took me a year. the style is quite hard to imitate well.
THIS game never ran on my pc. I do have it, still, but on the old one, it couldn't run, and the new one is too new for it :DDDDDD
the movie was VERY good. once you get used to how the characters look, you'll love it. I highly recommend it.
as for the Steam category...there was a time, when a horror game I follow was h_ntai, so nothing surprises me anymore. the community can modify those!

If I may make a suggestion/recommendation, I would love to see you guys play Magic Pengel (if you haven't already). It was this really weird Pokemon clone on the PS2 where the main gimmick was that you could draw your own monsters. I never got very far in the game when I was younger, but I thought it had a very creative concept and the badly-translated signs were hilarious (Nothing like going to the market to buy some "Flesh").
One little note, the developers of the new Tintin Game wrote in the comments of their trailer not to play the game at launch. It's full of bugs, and so they will update the game over multiple weeks
they did not update the game, it's been multiple weeks. It's still unplayable.
Love Tintin as a kid read all the comics saw the series and the film but never played the game.

I remember going into Sam’s Club a lot when I was younger (basically a wholesale store with a variety of things you could buy) and they’d usually be advertising their 4K TV’s with Tin Tin playing. Ngl, at that resolution the animation is so crisp that it actually looks very close to being real and not in the uncanny valley creepy way.
So odd that I love listening/watching mindpulp videos while I exercise, then fail my set during every "purple" moment😂
I love Tintin. Looking forward to the new Cigars of the Pharoah game coming out. The series is just timeless and was my childhood growing up.

Yeah, remember when TinTin activated his Tin abilities in the Manga? Then he had to start defeating all the other Tin users to avenge his parents, along with his friend/rival Haddock?
I grew up watching the animated tv show of tintin and it was great
Reminds me that my brother and I watched the CG Asterix movie the other week, the one where the Romans take over Gaul using gentrification. It was pretty good, but one of the characters was how they drew black people in the comics and my GOD it marred the movie. He wasn't a bad character, just how he was designed was rather unfortunate (but he was one of the more intelligent and articulate people in the story and had some fun twists in his arc.)
Tintin good stuff is the animated series. I watched it so much when I was a kid in Brazil. Love it. And its so well made and has a crazy good music score. So if anyone has any curiosity about Tintin go for the animated series instead the comic or the movie.

Yes. Tin-Tin was originally in French. But not because it is French. It is because a part of Belgium (The larger part) is French-Speaking.

I absolutely adore this game. It's just such a good experience from beginning to end. And since the story is based on the excellent animated movie, it's great too. But the icing on the cake has got to be the sword minigame where you become Sir Francis Haddock and fight through dozens of hijacking pirates on the deck of his ship. It's even playable with the PlayStation Move controller which lets you to actually swing the sword. Very cool and VERY fun.
