Hey Tom Great review I have purchased this machine it is terriffic I like the fact that having an external water tank you can fill it while the machine is going through its program. Also you need to purchase a white milk caraf if you want cold drinks, when you insert the caraf the cold drinks menu comes up on the screen. ruclips.net/video/CQRQyjh2SuU/видео.htmlsi=E5Akpe8VALXoqso_
@@smyrsini yeah I tried to look for the white carafe too and can’t find it anywhere here in Australia. Can’t use the cold milk drinks with the black milk carafe
Hell Tom great review, thanks! I have the Rivelia since August and I really love it. A couple of things I noticed: - when you do the "Latte Macchiato" you have the milk foam setting on "high", while the machine suggests to use "medium" - as already mentioned, for cold drinks you need to purchase the white milk caraffe, I have it and it works great I often switch between different beans, my strategy is this: one hopper is always with decaf, the other is empty. When I want an espresso or something else, I put in the empty hopper the right amount of beans so I don't need to "grind and empty".
We've had it for about two months now and we're very happy with it, we mostly drink coffee with milk in different ways and they're prepared really well. What I like about this machine is that it is very easy to use and the coffee is always hot and full of flavor. It also makes a great milk foam that is always thick and the same every time. I was deciding between Rivelia and Dinamica Plus because the price was almost the same. Otherwise, I was a little skeptical about the purchase, because Rivelia has not been on the market for a long time and there were few reviews, but I was convinced by the design and simplicity of Rivelia. Now I see that I made the right decision and I really don't regret this money.
Hello! I have bought Rivelia based in your video review, as I was also thinking on the Electra Explore. However I think I have made the right decision. Coffee with milk options are great and the compact design is very convenient. The only question I have is how often should the brewing group be done? ( Actually I’m doing it once a week?) The last question is how can the temperature be set? Thanks again for your valuable opinion
Whats your opinion after x months use with the revilla ? I have the same options hence the questions. One reviewers has complaints about the grinding, the milk temprature (some say its cold others say its ok...
#Rivelia…. i bought it 2months ago and it’s great. i’m italian and the espresso quality is what i care in a machine. this one gets a great one. easy to use. well done De Longhi.
Hi Tom. Just wanted to chuck in my own personal experience with delonghi machines. As you may remember your review of the Dinamica+ helped me take the plunge and buy one. Well. After hitting the 1000 cup mark, I could not be more happy with this particular model! It makes me a range, of custom made coffees both milk based or not. I paid only £500 for mine at the time. My better half is an accountant. She actually purchased the machine for me as she was spending so much on pods lol. She figured out the machine had paid for iteself after only 3 months lol. I have a pal who has this model, and it is superior in ease of use, and it is smaller. I say all this to assure anyone on the fence about buying one of these. If you enjoy coffee shop quality coffees. But don't want to make them from scratch with a manual machine.....just buy one! It has changed my mornings and after dinner times. If anyone is watching this video wondering how best to use a Rivelia to make a flat white with good quality medium roasted beans 6 weeks old, then my advice based on a lot of experimentation is to set grind size to 3.5, intensity to 4, turn the froth dial slightly to the left of creamy. Be sure to change grind size properly as per the instructions. Hope this helps someone.
The Rivelia does support cold milk drinks. You just need to purchase the parts separately as it's not included with it like the De'Longhi Eletta Explore.
#Rivelia Hi Tom, we have this machine 5 months now and we are super happy with it. I bought it for 579€ in Amazon Spain and I think it deserves every cent. Thanks a lot for your review and one more time, congratulations!!!

Thank you so much for this review! It convinced me that paying a little extra can go a long way, so I just went on and bought the machine! Can’t wait for it to get delivered 😂
I believe the point of the system, is that if you drink both decaf and normal coffee, that you put the bean hopper, twist, then untwist it and that way you make your coffee with the beans that are in the machine and put the hopper back (not in the machine). That way you never waste coffee beans, but you are forced to use a 9 or 10g dose i believe.
#Rivelia Great review, Tom. I've had one of these for 6 months now, and have been very pleased with it. Good temperature drinks, and I agree about the high quality of the milk frothing. The fact it remembers your settings easily makes one-touch use very convenient thereafter. The two things that let it down for me are (1) the screen being on top, which means you have to lean over to see what you're selecting, and (2) the drip tray seems to fill quite quickly even though I have used a container to deal with the warm-up, cool-down and milk cleaning cycles.
@@andrewstedman8668 I agree with you on all those points. Because the machine is designed slimmer, grounds catch tray and drip tray fill up faster. Otherwise, nice machine.

Interesting review and thank you for explaining how to adjust the machine for getting a proper espresso. I bought the Rivelia about 3 weeks ago because of the option to change the bean hoppers. I'm really satisfied with it and excited to check-out various coffee roasteries. PS. Sometimes there are bargains for the Rivelia offered by some electrical retailers e.g. EP or euronics or at the German ebay portal (in combination with cashback from shoop I payed less than 620 Euro).

However I have decided to go down the home barista route at less than half the price so fingers crossed I have done the right thing. FYI Sage Smart Grinder Pro + DeLonghi Dedica. LOVE my flat whites and cortado drinks: the Rivelia hasn’t missed a beat for me. Thanks again for the review. 👍 #Rivelia
DeLonghi finally got themselves together and make pretty good machines, so there's no longer just the Jura on the market that can give you a pretty decent experience with a single button press. And I am writing this from the perspective of a coffee freak and an espresso orthodox. ..but it took a while 😆
#Revelia Great review…after purchasing it and trying I only found a small flaw: when you switch the beam hopper and brew the first coffee with it the result is of a bit watery expresso, maybe because the grinder is empty and therefore less coffe is used.
can you really use S size expresso 30ml? in the instructions they write 40ml, the default value is therefore M, and on S they write 20ml. ECO mode use or not? Ist Good?
how would you compare this to the magnifica plus? It's not available in the USA and I'm thinking of ordering it with a converter. I can still return the Magnifica Plus so I'd appreciate your response!
#rivelia That looks like a great machine for those not wanting to mess around with separate grinding and tamping. For me will stick with my trusty dedica. Sadly missed at moment due to an international move and the dedica still in transit. Great to see Delonghi marketing supporting this great channel!!!
Hallo from Holland, sinds today i have this machine! I am stil practicing. I have made a few cappuccino’s , but the coffee comes out in drops, not like in your video with a Nice stream. Stil, it tastes great. What could be the cause?
I've been trying to decide between this one and Philips 3200 LatteGo, how does this one compare to that or do you recommend one over the other? (They are similarly priced from where I am from)
Hi, I got my machine couple of weeks ago and I’m really happy with it. But I find my milk is not that hot as I want it to be, are there any settings for milk temperature?
#Rivelia Ive ordered the manual steam version as I’ve had fully automatic before and l’ve always found the milk not hot enough.Should I have gone for this version instead. Is the milk hot enough?
Hello Tom! Thank you for your video, i will order this machine based on your review👍That would be my first coffee machine. Hope to become good friends with #Rivelia
This or the soul!? I drink mainly Espresso or Americano, and have had a Prima Donna elite… so not sure if the rivelia would feel like an ever so slight downgrade!?
Hi Tom, nice review as usual. Got me a #Rivelia months ago when it launched and i'm loving it. Believe it or not I downgraded from a Primadonna Soul and this machine got me better results. Much keener now on experimenting with different beans and decaf with some extra containers. The major con for me so far: that screen really is poorly placed, it should at least have a hinge mechanism to make it easier to view and operate. I'm sure they'll make one soon and charge an extra 50 for what is clearly a design flaw fix. And they do sell a "special" carafe for the Rivelia only for cold drinks...another strange move from DeLonghi if not only for economical purpose.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner I think the UI is more intuitive and pleasant to use than the Prima Donna's, even considering it has a few more features. The screen is vibrant, responsive and a joy to use if it wasn't for the terrible positioning. Besides that, it has a much smaller footprint overall, the bean containers is a great idea and well implemented, even if bean waste may be an issue, you have a nice range of colors to choose from and I don't know why but the espresso from the Rivelia is more to my taste than the Prima Donna's (maybe the grinder came better calibrated from the factory, I can't thinlk of any other reason).
Please tell me if this machine can definitely make espresso with 15g of coffee? Because Kev's in his review weighed how much coffee this machine grinds at each level and at the highest it is only 10g?
How's the temperature of the coffee/milk on the Rivelia? I'm thinking of buying one but was put off by some reviewers saying it's not as hot as they'd like it to be. No problems with max settings?
How would it compare to a Dinamica Plus? I'm between this two models but I'm unable to find a comparison between them (at least a real one, not those automated clickbaiting ones). Great work with the channel!
A little disappointed in DeLonghi in how they made the water container externally. They sought of faked their way to make it look like a smaller footprint. With it really not being a smaller than their other offerings. Looking forward to a comparison between this, the Eletta (ECAM450.55 or .86) and the Prima Donna Soul. Especially the amount of excess water through cleaning and purging pre and post a coffee being made. Nice videos… Thank you.
#Rivelia @Tom’s Coffee Corner I just found you, I LOVE your reviews. I also subscribed. I enjoy a good coffee drink. What do you do with all your espresso machines?
#Rivelia Tom, I really enjoy your videos. Your in-depth reviews are very informative. I enjoy the traditional method of making espresso, but a machine like the Rivelia gives the opportunity for those, that find traditional espresso machines too complicated, to make their favorite drink.
Not sure if someone can help me with this question. But I have recently purchased a Delonghi Eletta Explore. Happy with the machine, but I noticed that the volume the output (in ml) seems smaller then what is shown in this (and other videos). Largest size of cup that both the machine and the app allow on my end is 250 ml. If I look at the videos, that seems to be a larger cup size (if I am not mistaken). Does anyone know what may cause the difference. I am located in the Netherlands if it matters. Also nice video on the #Rivelia. Good as always.
You might be grinding the beans too fine, DeLonghis grinds finer than most machines. Try to make the grind more coarse and see if it outputs a higher volume.
Hello. Great review as always.🎉 Please tell me how the size of the grinded beans pack compares to the delonghi magnifica Plus? Im torn betweeen rivelia and magnifica plus.
One mishap Tom, you need the cold milk can (white one) to produce cold drinks. Same as with the Eletta Explore. Only the Eletta has extra cold brew technologie. So I'm guessing that the milk and the ice cubes will be cold but the coffe comes out hot. Where with the eletta the coffee also will be much colder. Right?
I bought the Delonghi Rivelia from my retirement collection and am extremely happy with my purchase. It makes really good coffee which I look forward to in the mornings. I normally brew my coffee with coffee beans but cannot determine how to change from beans to pre-ground coffee. I used the scoop and poured the pre-ground coffee in the funnel and found that the machine still brewed the coffee from the bean hopper. I later found that the pre-ground coffee had accumulated in the tray underneath. I am missing something here as I can't find an option on the menu to change from beans to pre-ground coffee although the machine is designed for both. Can anyone help? Thank you

I am beginning to think I would be with the Delonghi Eletta. Thank you for the demo.
Im stuck between a semi automatic & automatic, breville bambino plus, delonghi magnifica evo or this one.. i mainly drink lattes & cappuccino. Help! Idk which route to go 😭
Thank you Tom for your informative videos, learnt lot from you. I am very new and bought stilosa ec260bk, and Delonghi customer service sucks in USA, it started leaking after 6 months and no help from Delonghi. I was thinking about upgrading to specialista or other Delonghi products around $500-700 but i will buy Ninja luxe espresso instead. Thanks
@@tanyamirza1976 I think that will go with the Eletta Explore! Having seen both in the shop, I prefer the design of the Eletta and the fact that it can easily make a drink in a "mug to go" is a real plus in my opinion. Not to mention the cold drinks! (where you have to buy the latte crema cold separately on the Rivelia)
Hi Tom, thank you for de tailed review! I have been watching a lot of your videos about the #Rivelia but also dedica (maestro plus). Currently using a nespresso lattissima, was good, not anymore. also missing bit the consistency of flavor. 9 out of 10 I am a lungo/Americano drinker. and once in a while a cappuccino. Just curious what you would recommend? Rivelia, keep it simple or Dedica and do it yourself for best coffee taste?
Hi, would you go for this one or the Barista Pro, not really fussed about the Pro not being fully automatic? From the 2 what's your recommendation putting aside the semi manual/fully automatic?
I'm torn between the Rivelia and the Dinamica Plus (around $200-300 difference for me in Singapore) as a first machine - I've been Nespresso for 15 years. I do mainly milk based coffees like Caps and Lattes and my son does hot chocolates. As a family we do 3-4 cups of coffees a day. What do you think?
Honestly they're quite close, but I'd go for the Dinamica. If your household has that many people using it, you'll want the larger dimensioned machine.
Great vid Tom. Off topic but did you hear about the new Gaggia Classic Pro e24 that is out? It has a brass boiler and slightly bigger capacity. Can’t wait till you check that out.
just curious if you ever compared a Gaggia with a Delonghi? I am just curious if the quality in the Gaggia is a bit better than in the Delonghi, akin to GCP v Dedica. Maybe Gaggia is more expensive.
Great review, I have bought the machine because of your review. One question: do you manage to get consistent hard pucks out of the machine? Mine are watery and falling apart, though I followed the bean adapt advice and set grinding from 5 to 4. Even at finer grinding to 3 does not help. Espresso seems to me lacking also depth and aroma. Ist there any advice you can give? Thanks for your help and support!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. I have used the Omkafe Diamante from Lake Garda, actually stellar beans (Arabica/Robusto). Today I have replaced them with Gorilla Superbar Crema. Its getting a bit better with those, however the pucks still fall apart, but are less watery. What I have discovered is that the pucks keep their definition if I make Latte or Cappuccino. By making pure Espressi the issue still persists however. Need to play around with the bean adapt and Espresso settings as it seems….
You don’t have to wait to change your beans by time. When you have your 0900 coffee change the holder. Next coffee caffeine thereafter decaf. We can all make up problems.
For me the user friendly water tank and easy to refill bean pod (also with less air contact) made all the difference when purchasing. All other models are not well engineered, with the water tank in the back (against the wall !?) or having to slide it all the way out just to refill one cup of filtered water through a small opening - daunting task before the 1st cup of the day. As for the grains refill, imagine having to lift a lid with one hand and with the other aim a 1kg bag of coffee for the right opening, all this under a suspended cupboard, because kitchen... . I would have gone for the cheapest from Delonghi had I not seen this one. I could kiss the engineers who designed it. We're not coffee connoisseurs by far, so one touch makes coffee, adjustable by user profile, is the way to go. I can make my "raise the dead" strong espresso and DH can make his espresso soup from the same beans. My only problem with it is that it made the Nescafe capsule coffee taste like sock wash by comparison :)))

Great to hear it - thanks for sharing your story!
Ist Good?
Hi tom. My budget are limited. Which one you recommend for low budget use like mine, the magnifica evo or this rivelia?
Superb video! Thank you for uploading
#Rivelia very compact and small footprint
#Rivelia.... Great video. I am waiting for my machine to be delivered today. I feel acquainted with it already. Thank you.
how would you compare this to the magnifica plus? It's not available in the USA and I'm thinking of ordering it with a converter. I can still return the Magnifica Plus so I'd appreciate your response!
#rivelia That looks like a great machine for those not wanting to mess around with separate grinding and tamping. For me will stick with my trusty dedica. Sadly missed at moment due to an international move and the dedica still in transit. Great to see Delonghi marketing supporting this great channel!!!
how does the EXTRA shot work?...it asks me to put in powdered coffee
Wait, is dynamica + higer end than this machine?
Hallo from Holland, sinds today i have this machine! I am stil practicing. I have made a few cappuccino’s , but the coffee comes out in drops, not like in your video with a Nice stream. Stil, it tastes great. What could be the cause?
I've been trying to decide between this one and Philips 3200 LatteGo, how does this one compare to that or do you recommend one over the other? (They are similarly priced from where I am from)
What is the extra grey bit? You pull out when you’ve made your espresso?
Hi, I got my machine couple of weeks ago and I’m really happy with it. But I find my milk is not that hot as I want it to be, are there any settings for milk temperature?
#Rivelia Ive ordered the manual steam version as I’ve had fully automatic before and l’ve always found the milk not hot enough.Should I have gone for this version instead. Is the milk hot enough?
What a fantastic machine
Hello Tom! Thank you for your video, i will order this machine based on your review👍That would be my first coffee machine. Hope to become good friends with #Rivelia
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for commenting - what do you like more about the Rivelia over the Prima Donna? I haven't tried the latter yet.
Tom promotes delonghi machines as nobody else. And they just sent him one, after many years..
I have one, too. I like the Rivelia ❤
how would you compare it to a Dynamica Plus or Eletta (minus the cold drinks)?
Nice videos…
Thank you.
I wonder if soy and almond milk works well with the frother.
#Rivelia
@Tom’s Coffee Corner
I just found you, I LOVE your reviews. I also subscribed. I enjoy a good coffee drink. What do you do with all your espresso machines?
Thanks! I store them, and save them for comparisons. The unpopular ones however get sold or donated.
#Rivelia
Tom, I really enjoy your videos. Your in-depth reviews are very informative. I enjoy the traditional method of making espresso, but a machine like the Rivelia gives the opportunity for those, that find traditional espresso machines too complicated, to make their favorite drink.
I agree. It's very convenient, and also offers coffee crema and other drinks for people to try out easily.
Hi Tom. Great review. I made a Flat white and it tastes so watery. What am I doing wrong?
Hi. How often do I need to wash the milk jug in the dishwasher and at what temperature?
I would love to have this machine but the price is way too high
Regarding hot beverages, is the Rivelia or the Eletta Explore better?
Same, which did u choose?
One mishap Tom, you need the cold milk can (white one) to produce cold drinks. Same as with the Eletta Explore. Only the Eletta has extra cold brew technologie. So I'm guessing that the milk and the ice cubes will be cold but the coffe comes out hot. Where with the eletta the coffee also will be much colder. Right?
Revilla vs Jura e8. Which is better?
On my Rivelia, any grinder setting from 3 or lower stalls the machine (water just drips). Sometimes it cannot even go this low. Is this normal?
What are your likes and other key dislikes 🧐?
What is the temperature of the coffee. Some reviews of this machine(quite a few) mention that the coffee is a little on the cold side?
I don't understand I made an espresso like you and my grinder had only for 6sec. grinding on intensity set at 5 😢
I bought the Delonghi Rivelia from my retirement collection and am extremely happy with my purchase.
Thank you
Hi Tom!
Thanks for review #Rivelia
For me it’s interesting that Delonghi starts making a new design with water tank on the side!)
I learned thats for you it’s quite nice design?!)
Ist Good Machine?
#Rivelia I have been waiting for this review. I am in the USA. We do not have it yet. I have been waiting for Delonghi to release it in he USA. Not sure if I will buy it. I have purchased the Breville Oracle Jet and Love it! I think the clean up on the Jet is less involved. Also purchased the Nespresso Breville Christia while I have been waiting for the Rivelia. I am beginning to think I would be with the Delonghi Eletta. Thank you for the demo.
I'm not even sure if they will bring the Rivelia to the USA...sometimes they don't roll out everywhere.
Thanks
I think the Ninja is a fair amount better than the Delonghi all in ones, to be honest.
@TomsCoffeeCorner Thank you sir.
Where can this be purchased in the US?
I love your videos soooo much Tom!
Would you choose this one over the Eletta Explore? 😊
I'm torn between the two!
Same! Which did u choose
It comes in 4 colours which is nice. It would be nicer when you could rotate the screen towards you. Good machine I think. #Rivelia
Can I get an your opinion on the Delonghi Primadonna Soul ?
how can you get this is Canada ?
What is the difference between three Rivelia vs Magnifica Evo?
Is the eletta explore better?
do you think this makes barista level coffee? it looks to me an upgrade of magnifica ,
#Rivelia after yiur review i made my decision to go for it. Ine question: is 4.5 the ideal setting for grinder for a nice and well bodied espresso?
Great review for the #Rivelia ... shortlisted :)
Rivelia or Eletta or Philips 5400.
who makes the best espresso and foam?
It's worth paying extra for?
Of those, I'd do the Rivelia for the price, or Magnifica Plus. Cheers!
@TomsCoffeeCorner What's the difference between ...? Plus has 18g pucks
isn't that too much? expresso started somewhere between 7-9g.
is the grinder setting at 4.5 the best setting for the best coffee? someone has 4 set as well.
I want this model! I love the style and dual hoppers. Not available in the US! What’s your next favorite DeLonghi automatic?
I'd say the Dinamica Plus. Cheers!
Hello Tom. Can you please do a comparison between the Magnifica Evo Next vs. Magnifica Evo Plus? Would be great! Cheers & thanks for your channel.
Hi, would you go for this one or the Barista Pro, not really fussed about the Pro not being fully automatic?
From the 2 what's your recommendation putting aside the semi manual/fully automatic?
Well, you'll get silkier milk, and admittedly a better espresso shot with the Pro. Also, you'll get to practice the craft. Cheers!
Hi tom...which one better dinamica plus or revelia?...hope u can help me to choose
@@elisanadia6350 They are quite similar in their capabilities, but since I have used the Dinamica more, I will say that one.
Excellent review as always! #Rivelia
Super test. 😁💪💪💪🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
#Riverlea. I am new to your channel, and am looking to buy an entry level machine. Very inpressed with your review. #Coffeepuck!! 😅
Great vid Tom. Off topic but did you hear about the new Gaggia Classic Pro e24 that is out? It has a brass boiler and slightly bigger capacity. Can’t wait till you check that out.
Hmm, I see that WLL has them. I don't see them available in Europe yet. Where have you found them?
@@TomsCoffeeCorner on WLL. I’m thinking they replaced old boilers with brass. It’s not listed in Gaggia’s web site yet.
just curious if you ever compared a Gaggia with a Delonghi? I am just curious if the quality in the Gaggia is a bit better than in the Delonghi, akin to GCP v Dedica. Maybe Gaggia is more expensive.
I'd like to see a Gaggia review too.
Well, Gaggia uses the same brew groups as Philips, and I have reviewed the 3200, 2200, and 5400. Should be about the same as those, I would think.
@@TomsCoffeeCornerthanks. Will watch those.
That's strange. I do get good defined pucks, as shown in the video. Maybe it has something to do with the beans. Which ones are you using?
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
I have used the Omkafe Diamante from Lake Garda, actually stellar beans (Arabica/Robusto).
Today I have replaced them with Gorilla Superbar Crema.
Its getting a bit better with those, however the pucks still fall apart, but are less watery.
What I have discovered is that the pucks keep their definition if I make Latte or Cappuccino.
By making pure Espressi the issue still persists however.
Need to play around with the bean adapt and Espresso settings as it seems….
Vielen Dank, die Vollautomaten sollen eher innen schimmeln, was meinst Du?
Hi all, how can I in the US buy this from another country? I want this model with the 2 hoppers and I like this style.
I'm afraid you can't, because it's not made for 120V and 60Hz. Hopefully Delonghi will make it for the N.A. market soon. Cheers!
#rivelia Thinking of ordering one just now. I will probably order it today. Good review tnx
Very nice video
