Thanks for this tip. So glad you mentioned Power BI. 😊. Been a data analyst / digital marketer for several years . Now am really hell bent on transitioning to InfoSec.
Thanks for the video. There seems to be so much under the cybersecurity umbrella. Where would I go to learn all the different positions, what they do, how much they make, and what’s required? I don’t really want to learn coding if I don’t have to
Being a sysadmin I get multiple projects a week to write powershell scripts for our security team and other teams. The reality is that no UI is ever going to be as powerful and if it tried it would be a convoluted nightmare (even more than azure already is at times). This has made me an invaluable part of my team. Can't recommend PS or Bash knowledge enough. It's a steep curve at first but just understanding an intermediate level will be enough to leverage what's out there already in a safe way, let alone build your custom scripts that every company will inevitably need due to their quirks now or the quirks from 10 years ago you're trying to recover from.
As I understood with my bad English, if you want to be a good CYBERSECURITY then learn to program preferably many and if you want to be an average fart CYBERSECURITY don't learn to program right?
welcome to my channel. I didn’t say if you can’t program u r bad, I certainly dont do any programming in my role. All I’m saying is that if you want to work in a security operations centre or incident response, scripting skills will help you automate repetitive tasks and will make you a stronger more employable cyber analyst/engineer
@@UnixGuy I thank you for your quick answer. If I had a question, someone who is cyber security can do everything that is in cyber security? or can he decide what to learn
Hi I am currently working on SIEM side( collection and parsing), I want to switch to a Vulnerability Management role. Without experience, is the path very difficult? I am currently investing time to learn qualys VMDR. Your suggestions would really help me.
you can learn qualys for free, there is free training on their website but this is not ‘pathway’, it’s just one basic piece of software, I wouldnt bet an entire career on it. Watch this: Start Here | Get into Cyber Security ruclips.net/p/PLdI5VHN89i7X932iFp7-M30FM9J8QHqOk
