Working my way through these. So far, all brilliant. The extra edge and imaginative abstraction and displacement humour are all wonderful. The Cornish guy who kicks them off and ends is outrageously funny.. Of course, one couldn't do something like this in today's world.. 🌟❤️🤣👍
I think Manky Street was a combination of Manchester/Madchester/Gunchester from the reputation for the Manchester music scene and the gun crime in the 1990's and 2000's.
I don't understand people dissing this. If you truly like Harry's comedy then you'll like this. If you are just enthralled by catchphrases and bogged down in tradition then I guess you won't.
This isn’t an antidote to catchphrase comedy, not by a long ways. Odd point to make in regards to the guy who gave us Loadsamoney in any case. Like David said, Enfield has earlier and later stuff that’s superior to this. He didn’t seem to have the same quality of writers or collaborators in this series.
Anyone noticed with the Manky Street sketches theyre just using a redress of The Royle Family living room set. Also Andy Whyment whos in the sketch went on to be Kirk Sutherland in Corrie
And Julia St John...how did she keep a straight face being StateHighway99ed by George? It got worse when the Sha99 pile came off in the Shorts at the End...@21:45
Christ this is dreadful compared with Harry's early stuff. I'm off back in time to watch Mr Chomondley-Warner, The Scousers, Tim Nice but Dim & The Old Gits :-)
Kenneth & Richard have restored my sense of perspective. 😎👍
I think everything's going to be alright 😁

The aggressive posh bloke is hilarious
18 years and comedy has changed so much, you could not get away with this today. So funny.
"I'll tell ya wot your gonna eat! LEAD!!!!! But, I feel cheated - no Chemist in this one.
Brand new from the year 2000 but nevertheless a classic thx for posting

It's shit.
@@davidwhite4874 So what do you like then?
@@LusciousTwinkle I like the earlier and later stuff. This seems a low point.

@@BlookbugIV I never said it was. I'm talking about other lesser so called comedy.
Someone's cranked the canned laughter up to 'You've been framed' levels.
Performed in front of a live studio audience, not canned laughter.
When you assume you make an ASS out of yourself…. Performed in front of a live studio audience
Live studio audience. But it is quite loud.
Clearly didn't watch the outro

Don't be so hard.and sceptical for young so young....always at heart.
Ok pulling his hair doo wig off made me laugh lots.

Drip coffee is higher in caffeine content than espresso due to the time in contact with the water.
Espresso-101
Cunning little minx. :D
Foiled.
4.1% inflation would be good these days!
"I ain't gonna be old"
"Well, you will one day, won't you?"
"NOOOOO"
"Well everybody gets old, don't they?"
"NOOOOO"
"Yes, they do"
"NO DEY DON'T"
09:24 Expresso?
Stab stab stab mummy must die 😂😂😂😂
This is nowhere near as good as the shows he did with Paul Whitehouse a few years later.
Or the 90's BBC shows. Even Enfield himself wasn't a fan of this show but it has it's moments in fairness [Richard & Kenneth for example].
@@jamesatkinsonja No.
Diamonds In the comedy world.
So manky streets in South East London I take it?
Harry's as brilliant as ever, but his fellow actors are sub-Whitehouse.....but then, after Depp's praise, who isn't?

He did "Harry and Paul" a few years after this as well. MUCH better,
@@PaulRoneClarke I like this the most, humour is very relative
