Tachograph laws, we can actually do around 400-500 miles depending on traffic. 9 Hours driving time, with two 45 min breaks. However most HGV jobs are on the clock for 12 hour days. A lot of your time is spent sitting around waiting to be tipped or loaded.
I passed my Class 2 last month, and this is what I'm really intetested in. I find the 8 wheel tippers really cool looking, and i can't think of any other HGV job better than that.
8 wheels, because the back wheels are either, one piece,or two pieces, bolted together.12 tyres,on those 8 wheels. That's why they have always been known as eight wheelers.
Perhaps they should fit seatbelts . Or perhaps if they do this chap should wear one as when the shots on the public highway he appears not to be wearing one . Not a good standard to be setting eso from a truck company video
@@YerDaPuntsAvon - You're incorrect Rule 124 of the highway code. It's 50 mph for vans, lorries etc on a NSL single carriageway. Unless of course, you're in Scotland. NSL on a dual carriageway is the same for a motorway 70MPH therefore for vans 3.5 tonne or more and trailers it's 60MPH.
Why? I am currently undergoing my theory for class 2 and soon will be taking my practical because I already paid for it. I do hope its worth it because I don't have any other career choice at my age. I know multi drop work is tiring and stressful therefore tipping will be most suitable.
I drive a class one V8 Scania. I'm looking now at doing tippers... I really enjoyed this video. Really well done
I'm booked in to take my test mid September and was thinking off doing tipper work. Good video gave me a shot confidence :)
"We could drive up to 300 miles a day."
Australian truck drivers: That's cute.
I laughed at that. Australian Truck drivers are on a whole nother level.

Sam Stocks 8 wheelers are great. Stay with them. Tippers that is. No artics 🖒
Each to their own, personally i find tippers very boring. Too repetitive and not challenging enough. Flatbed artics and wagon and drags any day
Good video even though it's old! I'm starting on Tippers in Jan so it will be challenging as I'm not in a Scania either booooooooooo!
How much an hour is this please?
He was way to close to that skip lol

Tipper truck drivers. Stop speeding round corners on narrow A and B roads putting oncoming traffic in danger.
Hard to speed on those roads when your trucks limited to 56 mph.
@@YerDaPuntsAvon - The speed limit for vans and trucks on a 60 mph country lane is 50.
@@lukey3507 wrong its actually 40mph on a single carriageway. It's 50 on a dual and 60 on a motorway...
