@@ThatPhilippinesLife FYI. Historically, far more shorter people that you constantly make fun of have positively impacted the whole of humanity and society, than people 5'10" and taller. Those are facts. Statistically throughout history shorter people have been more intelligent than taller people. I'm 6'3" and never make comments like taller people do that may be taken as belittling or degrading toward someone or appear as if taller individuals may be inferring that they are somehow more adept and superior that shorter stature individuals. Food for thought. Peace!

My family lives in Antique,it's also in Panay island.I would say Panay Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines,especially Iloilo!That place is gorgeous and clean!

The opportunities to start a good business with Iloilo city booming only 45 min away are fantastic, win win. And zero rush to get married (technically still am)
There are opportunities almost everywhere but Iloilo is a good place for a tech startup specially offloading backend support. Telus International occupies that brand new office building in Pavia and SM strata. Ernst & Young has grown from 25 employees several years ago to a planned 7000 highly paid accounting and legal support nationwide.
Yeah Iloilo has good offshore KPO potential, knowledge processing operations that tap "experts" for problem solving given that the city has 7 universities and dozens of colleges.

Hey Kat, just want to give some tip on applying for a job in the city , give your copy of resume like many as you can in every company you wish to work with don't give just only 1 and wait. That's what I did when I was there, but I got an offer from Emirates the reason I left the Philippines.
I thought the minimum wage per day there now in Iloilo City is 400-450 pesos?
Great advice for her, I know she watches. I think it is the minimum wage in the city but provinces is lower.

I think it's at between 480 to 490 because the govt has increased the rate for western Visayas, including for Iloilo.

Maybe the best bet is to help her set up as a vlogger. If she has the beauty (i think so), personality (seems like it) and enough knowledge (which can be acquired) she could easily support herself and family. I saw this exact situation in Cambodia with "Zana"! I'd be willing to pitch in, anybody else?
I love the idea too. Vlogger but as part-time. I can pitch in for upgraded equipment once it's up and running 😊 with Patreon account. Others can help with thumbnails and promotion.

I have noticed that there is no grass growing anywhere ! Which means that there is an overall lack of rain. It looks like Southern California which also has a lack of rainfall .

IMO, Mike this is one of your best vlogs so far. As with previous videos I can feel the genuine interactions with the locals and absorbing the culture. As Ronny pointed out, there is definitely culture shock when going to different places to a varying degree, Philippines in particular.
Rural Philippines life has its merits within the proximity of the city like Iloilo. As a kid that's where I've learned to fly a kite as large as myself and almost every afternoon play within the neighborhood. Less fancy malls to hangouts.

Enjoy your videos and like watching province simple vlogging showing more low end budget friendly options. My filipina and I live simple life here in Oklahoma in U.S. on low budget lifestyle but plan to retire there in 9 years if we can survive the high costs of living in U.S.

When I was on vacation in the Philippine lat September, I spoke and asked some of those employees at SM malls, those people that wait on you, they said their minimum a day is 680 pesos a day.
