All the comments about Maria being a cold person & unfriendly is all a farce. I have seen a lot of her interviews & she comes across to me as unassuming, cordial, affable & amiable. She is a very high profile tennis player, & with success comes jealousy from people of all walks of life. It is human nature unfortunately. I see in Maria a person who has attained her dream, having succeeded, & now is faced with the hype of being one. After all, aren’t we all guilty of sin? Are we perfect ourselves? Not her fault that she’s tall, beautiful & talented. My wish is for her to be safe at all times, knowing that there are many out there who despises her. Life is short, why can’t we appreciate the good things we see around us, & cast away the evil thoughts that eats us. Let’s be thankful that we can see, walk, talk
& enjoy our existence here on earth. Just sayin...

Were you living on Mars?! She took it knowing it was a PED but she also knew noone knew about it and that's why she disclosed all her other medications on WADA's lists but always kept put Meldonium. Cause of all the medicines she was taking she didn't have medical documentation for having heart problems = you can read it in WADA's public pDF document on her case. Also she didn't disclose it cause it's meant to be taken for couple of months if you have health problems, not A DECADE!!!! That's not a drug a doctor would prescribe more then couple of months, everything above that is taking it cause it's proven to bring more oxygen to muscles = PED.

The wada has no answer for that all your blah blah of oxygen and it's uses are nothing bcz it's not a ped at all. And her advocate also pointes it at the right time where you also pointed on your first line, this drug was legal all the years she had taken. And also she does taken it on a smaller amount not the huger one like others, and also she also had a medical prescription of her doctor where he or she recommended the medicine to her and she had been taken it, and fyi she also won a title and beaten Simona and wozniacki at the grandslam stages is something proven that her unparalleled talent is nothing to be denied of and the drug can't be the reason why she won many slams. See in the case of Simona? What happened to her? Taken such a sensitive drug and a illegal one and also got side effects of nose job. What about Sharapova? Does she affected by any side effects like that taking a ped if you claims one such!

She appealed it to the court of arbitration and sports where they genuinely accepted her points and the drug she was taken is a mistake and unintentional one. That's why they dropped her suspension which was upheld by wada from 4 years to 9 months, I mean your own slang how on Mars is that possible! A government authority can give such a biased judgement to an individual? I am sorry I can't believe your words. If the court of arbitration for sports knows that she's been cheating with the medicine for all the years purposely they could have second with the wadas punishment right? I mean the original judgement of 4 years suspension? Why they interfered and dropped her case into 9 months? There's a huge years of reduction I can say it's 3 years they reduced from the original judgement. Impossible to anyone if they have falsehood with them. Sharapova is genuine. That's why she got the final judgement like that. We all know what happened in the case of simona here, the four years was the final. And she still forever can be coined as a doper. But not Maria. She's the princess after Serena Venus were queens.

The tennis association should inform players who have tested positive for that drug. Especially if they're going to ban a player for 2 years for something that was previously legal

Such a composed person, an example on and off court. About the doping, she was definitely targeted at a time when Russia is not popular. I am wondering thought when is the WTA is going to calling it quits with support PED-enhanced Serena and let her out of the tour already. Maria is not the devil and Serena just showed her ass on National stage smashing her racket. Maria was blindsided by Tennis federation failing to inform players of new drug standards. Anyone who actually watches tennis knows Maria has always been a warrior. Gifted with long legs to stretch hitting the impossible shots making her one of the top stars in tennis all time. Love her and hope she has fun on the comeback, but really she has nothing to prove and haters if you try to kiss her ass i'll punch you in the chops.

The interviewer’s last question was a little silly. I do not think many people, if any, will look back at Maria’s career and associate her with doping. The use of the recently banned drug was clearly a mistake. I suspect few, if any, think Maria cheated. To me, Maria is a fierce athlete who is very professional on the court (I.e., not known to throw tantrums when things don’t go her way). She also is very tall and lovely as she dominates on the court, which likely contributes to her popularity.
Very true even before taking the drug she won two slams the year she taken the drug was after 2005.2004 she won Wimbledon and 2006 also she won a title and that drug after gets soaked in to the body for many years mostly will give benefit even though in that case. She beaten many players before the drug intake also.

As a Serena fan, I do have to agree with Maria on the ''fake falls''...I've seen Serena when she gets stretched out for a tough shot, she goes for all or nothing shot then she lets herself fall and gets back up again nothing to serious! So I see how one might attribute that as fake falling! Jankovic does the same thing.
there was a french male tennis player about 20 years ago called henri laconte and he had the unfortunate habit of falling over and supposedly being injured when his opponents were hitting a hot streak. i'm sure it wasn't deliberate though. ;)
