- Multimedia artist Christian Marclay became a contemporary art superstar with "The Clock," his 24-hour film comprised of scenes from movies and TV that track the viewer's own experience of time, minute by minute. He talks with correspondent Conor Knighton about his cinematic timepiece (currently screening at New York's Museum of Modern Art), and about his early years experimenting with "turntablism" in New York's underground DJ scene.

That's quite a genius concept. The research indeed must have been staggering.
Easily one of the most amazing art experiences I was lucky to have experienced back in 2011 👏
The most amazing and mind boggling film I ever watched
Time is a precious commodity, it’s like holding water in your hands, it just trickles out, no stopping it 🤷🏻♀️savor every moment 👍🙂
he deserves a kennedy center honor. one of our greatest artists
Extraordinary seen extraordinary moments while working at LACMA!
I spent a bunch of hours with this at the time. It was so great. Do you remember what year that was?
No better example of Art as concept rather than object. *chef's kiss*
Wow🤔
Such a abstract yet brilliant idea. Excuse me, time to go!
Does it include the clock from the Groundhog Day movie - it's so iconic!
An NDE I had at 19 seemed to last for half a day, yet less than two minutes actually passed. Everything that happened on the 'other side' was more real than this skin school - this life - we're in.
Distance and time are constructs of this temporary realm.
Paz y luz ✨️ to all
I'm guessing he chose film scenes because TV scenes would've forced him to incorporate the opening sequence to THE TWILIGHT ZONE!😂
Where does time come from?
GOD
@JoseMorales-lw5nt
God didn't create time. It's a concept: it's not a thing. We only use it so we're not late for dental appointments.
@@mortalclown3812well we only created the measurement of time, not its passing. So that could be credited to God.
Is there a way for me to retrieve the time I just wasted ?
🤣😂
Karens spend an inordinate amount of time complaining vs. communicating in positive, loving ways.
Shoulda named this piece
