Thanks! I wish to see 2 and DoD remastered the most, because those were my favorites!
This is why we need to take what leakers say with huge heaps of salt especially when their track record shows they were only ever right about one leak.
I’m confused on how the remaster has reached 2 mil in sales, the leaked sales from the Capcom leaks weren’t even half a mil. Maybe those sale figures didn’t include digital?
That could be, or perhaps it only was in regards to one region and not world wide. The other thing that confuses me is that Capcom did update the Platinum Title list and Onimusha: Warlords on PS2 has now dropped down from 38 to 40 and the HD Remaster still isn't on the list. It may possibly be referring to the sales across all platforms/versions but the problem there is that Capcom keeps specific releases there separated on the list. So for example RE4 HD has its own spot on the list along side RE4 on GC and RE4 on PS2.
One thing that could also be postponing the remakes of 2, 3, and DoD, is that Capcom wants a wider release for a potential collection. Considering the PS5 and XBSX are now out on the market, there could be possible developments of ports to both those consoles as well. Looking at how the HD port of the first Onimusha was a cross-platform release for the most part, it would make sense if Capcom wanted to have as broad of a reach as possible, hence the potential of more ports for the various platforms available.
I could see that too! I know people were disappointed that when they were doing Onimusha: Warlords HD that it wasn't going to be an HD Collection of the first three games.

they upset me so much with this onimusha blue ballsing i was so happy playing thinking of the future of this franchise coming back in the new RE engine
I agree 100% man and yes I read the "Dont expect anymore Onimusha no time soon" tweet as well and was confused seeing as thought the reported sales were great for that time of year, I do think we will get a HD Collection with warlords also thrown in either way I hope we see Onimusha2 - Onimusha: DOD all resurrected seeing as though this is one of my all time favorite game series.
I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom wanted to do a PS5/XBSX(S) version of the game that updated the visuals and framerate further along with potentially bundling it with the other games that haven't been released yet.

I grew up playing tons of capcom games, yeah i got RE8,6,5,4- I want RE 1,2, but resident evil as cool as the movies, cgi, and games are, onimusha is A much bigger series to me. It’s A way more important part of my childhood and gaming experience

Exactly, which the leak never specified anything specific so it was vague but it doesn't make sense to say Capcom decided to shelve the series with all of these factors in mind.
Here's my idea for the ultimate hd collection that will never happen: Release a collection with Warlords, Samurai's Destiny, and Demon Siege. Playing or completing Warlords unlocks Genma Onimusha, the superior version of Warlords. Playing or completing Samurai's Destiny unlocks Blade Warriors. And playing or beating Demon Siege unlocks Dawn of Dreams. 6 Games on one disc. Since this will never happen I pray at least for a remaster of Genma Onimusha at some point. It was the best version of the game and my personal favorite in the series. It still aggravates me they didn't remaster Genma instead of the vanilla version with Warlords.
back after a year to vent, what did they expect to happen they cancels the sequels because warlords sold poorly but yet they released the worst version of warlords and also nobody wants to invest time into only 1 game in a franchise not knowing if they can continue the story, capcom pissed me off why not just release onimusha 1,2 and 3 in one package like they did devil may cry.......that would have sold better and if it doesn't sell well then at least you made your loyal fans extremely happy but all they care about is, did it make millions!?
Crapcom should've add "Genma" mode to the remaster which would include xbox version of the game, maybe then game would've sold better, because knowning there is superrior(at least for me) version of the game that was completely ignored when they were making remaster is a big no for me.

Played Onimusha for the first time and beat it in one sitting. I’ve been on an old school RE kick and any game like it. I missed out on Onimusha probably because I had an Xbox and we had to wait a year for a lot of games. I can’t remember 😆 Good game but short. Now time for Silent Hill.

And, believe it or not, that port actually had more content and some more gameplay additions like charge attacks and gathering orbs for invincibility, something that people assumed was Onimusha 2 first. So you might have had a chance to play it, but I’m sure you had other things to worry about. I really wish it was the Genma port that got remastered instead of just the original vanilla port

That's the reason I shared the Capcom Platinum Titles list because the translation didn't seem to line up. Even still it's odd to have that mentioned in a tweet trying to promote the remaster Capcom doesn't usually do things like that for their remasters. More so though if Onimusha is really done it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for them to announce a partnership with Netflix to do a new Onimusha anime about Musashi now does it?
If they do go the route of releasing a collection and including Onimusha Warlords I'd hope they would add the Genma Xbox features just to make it a little more enticing for those who already bough the stand-alone release
