If you decide to react to another one from this era, Theres No Sympathy For The Dead is the heaviest track on the album and its an absolute banger

Listen to when I go out I want to go out on a chariot of fire, the riff that comes in after the bridge still slaps so fuckkkkking hard holy. The whole album is mwah *chef’s kiss*

My favorite song off this album was “When I Go Out...” the breakdown is just maximum 2006 energy. I think what a lot of post hardcore bands missed out was that melancholic sad but angry ratio. DIYLF really captured that emo energetic vibe that MCR and Taking Back Sunday were doing around the same time. The vocals have a nice balance of clean, but rough around the edges.

This is one of the two first metal songs I was really introduced to, back in 2018 when I first started playing. The other was In Dying Days, bloody incredible songs.

This song will always be one of the best if not the best 2000 coresongs ever. Still one of my most streamed songs on Spotify after all these years :)

The final solo is the first thing I ever learnt on a guitar, a friend taught me it with the guitar flat on his lap and didn't even know what song it was from, a few months later I found this song and my sister and I used to crank it in the kitchen when we were washing dishes and have a little mosh pit, so many good memories of this song

Nik I love that you're checking out my old favourites! Black Blood, Sadness will never end, and now My Apocalypse!
If you're down for it, do guitar covers of these! Would definitely check out

    This is their masterpiece, Nik!
If someone ever asks me "do you prefer ETF or FiR?" i'd answer "Escape the Fate WITH Ronnie"
This album imo is the best post hc piece ever made, it's a true gem. They were doing this mix of emo stuff with 80's hard rock looks and attitude way before it was cringe and still sounds fresh to me.
"Friends and Alibis" is my favorite song of this album and band, i highly recomend you to take a listen (and, of course, the whole album as well)

Reverse This Curse, Chariot of Fire, The Ransom, and the original Guillotine track.
Brings memories back but you can't deny Escape The Fate in Ronnie's time almost brought the template of the Post-Hardcore/Emo Screamo scene way back.
