Couldn’t agree more. A rare album that you can put on start to finish and not skip a track. This album and “The Curse” by Atreyu perfectly encapsulates the era of post hardcore/emo/metalcore
DYILF is THE most cohesive post hardcore album put out, from front to back it encapsulates that whole time period of music perfectly. Nothing FIR or ETF put out have been comparable. This album was a masterpiece.

"When I Go Out, I Want to Go Out on a Chariot of Fire" from the same album has similar vibes to this one. Both this and My Apocalypse are probably my favorites from the album. Good fuckin middle school bus jams 😅
Every single song on this album will forever live on my Spotify playlist. My inner post-hardcore scene kid will slit his wrists and call me a poser if I even suggest the thought of taking them off 😂
Damn, this song is my favorite of the album, you must react to the EP with "Dragging dead bodies in blue bags up really long hills" this song is pure Escape the fate :') holy shit old Escape the fate is so good
This has been one of my favourite songs of all time since I ever heard it about 15 years or so ago. Iconic solo and build up. The whole album is probably the best ETF album, and that's from someone who doesn't hate Craig and seen them live a bunch of times. The feelings are just different with the OG line up
DUUUUUDEEE this was absolutely the album that got me into core its so good. You have to to a video for the guillotine and there's no sympathy for the dead. Absolute bangers
If you haven't heard it yet, from the same album, The Day I Left The Womb is an awesome acoustic/core song by Escape the Fate. I remember in 2005, ETF went to my high school and I went to one of their shows and it blew my mind. The guitarist was throwing the guitar over his shoulder with like barely 1m of space around him.
One of the best post-hardcore albums ever written. I like some of the newer ETF stuff but nothing compares to Dying Is Your Latest Fashion honestly, the vocals as well as the guitar work are phenomenal
This album is literally masterpiece. Each song is unskippable . When this album dropped during my Freshmen Year . I had an obsession with each song every other week . My Apocalypse is my favorite tho . So much shit going on in one song and the last half will never fail to give me chills , the feels but also gets me pumped . 🤌

Listen to when I go out I want to go out on a chariot of fire, the riff that comes in after the bridge still slaps so fuckkkkking hard holy. The whole album is mwah *chef’s kiss*
My favorite song off this album was “When I Go Out...” the breakdown is just maximum 2006 energy. I think what a lot of post hardcore bands missed out was that melancholic sad but angry ratio. DIYLF really captured that emo energetic vibe that MCR and Taking Back Sunday were doing around the same time. The vocals have a nice balance of clean, but rough around the edges.
This is one of the two first metal songs I was really introduced to, back in 2018 when I first started playing. The other was In Dying Days, bloody incredible songs.

Which other classic bangers should I check out?
Oh Sleeper - Son of the morning
Dead and Divine - Chemical Valley. You wont regret it!

Five Finger Death Punch - Canto 34 if you haven't heard it yet!
