Very interesting. I definitely also watch the shoptask vids. It’s inspirational to come back into skating 25+ years later in as an adult and see that people out there never left and are keeping the art alive.
This is exactly where I'm at right now. Getting back to skating after 25 years break. It's great and tons of fun even if I know I suck at it terribly 😁. Let's keep it up!

Agreed, Shaun is amazing. He is one of my best friends and we spent many years in Calgary blading together. I remember when I got Shaun his first job teaching skating with Alien Inline, I knew he would excel at it right away...and look what he's done! Unwin is the reason I WANTED to pick up skates and you Bill are the reason I DID. You shown me even though you're a few years older than most guys and girls that you can still be more badass and more fearless and has got me starting to skate at 28 with some of the anxiety lifted. You're both inspiration guys, keep up the good work.

I love that. From someone like him, such a huge figure in skating, to be so supportive to someone like me just starting out.
I should also mention yourself, Bill, and Ricardo Lino, Tiago, as people who are hugely supportive to the skating community.
Leon too, who's given me advice in emails, as to what skates would suit me, after actually watching me skate in my videos.
As well as the other skaters I'm subscribed to.

The skating community generally is pretty fkn awesome.
I did skate a little as a kid, on quad rollers, but inline skating is relatively new to me, I've been inline skating for almost two years. So while I don't have the experience from youth that Shaun does, his input is invaluable, and inspiring, not just as a skater, but as a person.
His tutorial videos, impressive breakdowns, and amazing flows just make you want to get out and skate.
Yours, Bill, was the first channel I subscribed to, everything else flowed from there. I would put you in the same category of inspiration and learning. And fun!

Summer of 2017 i bought my first pair of skates after rediscovering skating through watching your videos. Further watching of skatevideos made me stumble across Shoptask and Shaun. Youve both taught me and inspired me. Skating is damn fun! Thanks for helping me rediscover it.

Totally sensing bro Crush Vibes here LOL! So great! Started skating at a local rink with my daughters. Came to RUclips for tips and got into Tiago tutorials. I didn't even know what slalom was. Let alone that people were still skating through the city. Wasn't long before I came across (you) Bill Stoppard. Then Shaun Unwin, And Asha. Only a year back on blades since my childhood as of now. But you are all great inspiration to keep pushing and trying new things and passing it along to the noobs!
Great Video, I hoped you were going to say it was Shaun when I saw the title. Love Both of you guys. This made me Happy, Shaun is an amazing Skater, He, You, Leon Basin, and the Mushroom boys all inspire me. I started Skating again this year at 46 after 30 years of not Skating. I skate quads, and Inline (thanks to watching Shaun and you, I discovered you through his channel, he said in one of his Videos how much he admired you, and if I recall, he said you were his favorite as well!
Right on. He'd be a rare gem if he had either the skating prowess or the all-pervading loving-kindness, but he's got both. Super amazing person and everything he does inspires me. And Bill, I have to give you the credit for flipping the skating switch for me in the first place. When I pulled out my old rollerblades 2 years ago, I realized I would need to learn to stop. Found your tutorials, but more than that I found someone who showed me why I needed to skate in the first place. "The City Is A River" was part of that awakening. Thanks Bill!

I like what he said about regaining that feeling of freedom. I'm pushing up on 33 and until yesterday I haven't skated since I was about 12 or so. Now I have my first pair coming since then coming in tomorrow.

Gotta agree on unwin. He's an inspiring dude, his style is mind blowing at times and he's such a humble nice guy. That said I got back into the rolling lifestyle from having my road bike stolen (recovered thanks to my own detective work) and watching PPP vids specifically the "your not supposed to do that on inlines" video.
Happy to see a RUclipsr praising a fellow RUclipsr instead of merely competing for internet territory. I like the positive energy it brings to the scene.
