- In an attempt to get logs out of the woods easier and with less impact on our roads, we make a log arch, and of course, show you how it works! Thanks for watching and subscribing!

I’ll be a lookin for that racing stripe! 😀
Consider adding additional support from the legs to the spine just in case a wheel is caught and pulled backwards when towing.
Use the welding film filter next time.
Cedar is choice for interior paneling for the look, no.
That’s the way to do it! Money for nothing and the logs are free......well maybe that’s not how the song goes. LOL
That's a catchy tune!
What is the thickness of that square pipe?
And do you have links for your parts?
I also built a log arch earlier this year, they work great. If you welded a hook for the end of the strap to hook to instead of hooking back onto the strap you would double the capacity of the winch and would make it much easier to crank. Also, according to my log app that birch you hauled weighed 2000 lbs. I love my log arch I'm sure you are going to get a ton of use out of yours. Job well done!
It's not finished yet. You need to paint it.....
We called it a pipe cart because that what we hauled with it . It was made out of pipe no fansy square tube. It was surprising what one man could haul with it. I am glad you are doing some smart thinking. You can get a lot more work out of Brenda. PS don't let her read this or she will ban me . But you are the one who will really get in trouble. Keep working I love it.
Great job… but you don’t need the winch. Just tip up the end of the arch and wrap the chain around the log. Then pull down the arch and your good. Voila… Leverage!
Woah, pretty fart smeller......er I mean smart feller.......this thing is great......we just had great food truck tacos yesterday........fantastic progress......
9:46 did I hear the bark of a new member of the SVA family?
Nope. We were just dog sitting for some friends for a handful of days. I think they liked the room to roam!
You could probably get a battery, solar panel and a windless on that sucker it would make life a bit easier on Brenda. Lol.
🤔👍
What is the thickness of the steel?
If you are operating the log arch with two persons - maybe build a second one and switch only the arch. One remains at the log spot and hooks up the log, the other one concentrates on transport. Full home, empty, Bach to Forrest, switch log arch, back home. Log arch remains at Forrest, gets loaded and waits for transporter getting back. Switch log arch and the game continues - until it’s dark.
I simply hook up one end of my logs to my 700ccm quad and the other end attached on an old dolly cart and drag them out of the woods; works just fine. Another useful tool I used to built my log home was a chainsaw winch.
I saw a video of a guy using a chainsaw winch, they are simply genius.
New sub, great video. Enjoyed your content.
Heat your metal with a torch first.
Can we talk about that UPS truck tho, never seen one like that before
Do you have a link for the tires/wheels and spindle axle you used?
Where could I get the plans for making it? Thank you.
log arches are the best for moving logs around as well as pulling them out of the woods. Looks fantastic. you are going to need to brace up those legs though over time stress at the top of the arch will tear through the tubing hauling 1 ton logs.
What is the size of the square tube and the wall thickness?
Is this highway legal?
KIDDING! Great video and nice design -- Thanks!
I often weld on saw horses. No worries. Just piss on em if they go up. 😂
Man, I was JUST getting the idea, I need to build one of those, when up pops this video! Thanks, I’m off to the steel shop tomorrow!
Looks great...I am in desperate need of one of them...did you build this with a set of plans...or just your own design? Do you have plans available for people like me? Loved your solar kiln also!
Did you design that thing?? You've got a product there!
what are the specs on it? cause I can't read them on the picture.
Nice and simple, and very effective
Where did u order spindle tire assembly
First again
well done!
Lock and Lube works great. Does any body know if black iron pipe ,like is used for oil tanks is really iron Or is it steel? Can it be welded? I have a big pile I want to use up. Making a log arch myself Steel is very expensive unless u get it at the junk yard. I think u pull from the big end. Tire cap is important.
Find someone selling or giving away old boat trailers. Many small ones can have enough material to finish one of these or at least come pretty close.
@@brianbrown600 Well nobody gives away anything these days. i have looked .there used to be lots of old trailers but because they are now so expensive new, anything is up. thanks later,
Nice job.
++1 Racing stripe! :D
Genius! the price of lumber..... GENIUS!😎🇺🇸
True that!
Parabéns belo trabalho.
Good job
Go Brenda!!!! :)-
Looks like a really nice light log arch. I was wondering what size of steel square stock you used Thank you.
I used 2" x 3/16" wall square tubing for the frame. Seems to be plenty stout.
If you have to change one thing, what would it be?
If any
well done!
very cool
❤
What a (log) Drag! (ger).. ;-) I'm guessing you're getting pretty good at sharpening the chainsaw blade!
Nice. I want build one just as you have. Do you have all the dimensions for this? Also hiw much in all the materials?
Thanks,
Gary
