  • I recently got the Woodland Mills Loglander 28 and this video shows the first day of use on my woodlot.
Overall, I am very impressed. I was looking for a way to harvest logs on the property that was low impact and allowed me to quickly cut and then haul/yard logs for my sawmill.
The property I am logging on was harvested over 20 years ago and has a mix of forest types on it. There are areas of the property that are hard to reach with my tractor due to the tree make-up and also because the terrain can be wet and soft. Using the Loglander 28 with my Honda ATV allows me to reach these areas with minimal impact to the surrounding terrain.
My main concern was how hard it might be to back up the Loglander to the log, but this actually proved rather easy. The Loglander has two large tires that are protected with wheel guards and was quite easy to navigate while backing up to the logs.
I plan to do a true review and how-to-use video after I have used the product for a longer period, but also wanted to show how efficient I was in my first use. In about an hour and a half of casual work, my neighbour and I were able to harvest six moderate sized logs, yard them to an area, load them on a trailer and take them to the sawmill.
    Thanks for watching!

Good demo guys. I have been watching different versions of these for a few months and this style seems to be well sized and designed for ease of use.

Howdy brother- that’s quite a buggy. It works great with your four wheeler. Hope your weekend is going well. Take care and God bless

It really worked very smoothly. I'm going to try it on some larger logs too. Might need tractor to pull those, but will see what the four wheeler can do!

I've seen a few people use these sort of systems. Always wondered if it would be worth having a 4 wheel bogie with arch to lift back end of logs out of the dirt to minimise the impact on sawmill blades.

Seems to be lots of variation in options on these. What I'm doing for now is cutting the log 18 inches too long and then cutting those 18 inches off afterwards for firewood. The 18 inch section is more-or-less what gets dirt on it.

Jon, can you take more than 1 log at a time with the arch. Those fir are kinda small, take 2 at a time?

Yes, can take several at a time. I just wanted to get the hang of it to start but plan to do a video where I put it to the test with bigger logs and multiple.
