Rich Redmond’s one of my favorite drummers of all time. Great dude too. Recorded with him in Nashville years back and he was nothing but an enthusiastic professional about what we were doing. Guy’s THE man.
Every time this shows up in my recommended I have to click 😂 This dude LOVES what he’s doing, so cool to see. THIS is how you make a living as a drummer, dude is in the pocket but putting on an absolute clinic….literally. He plays like that live too, what a champ.
This is excellent from start to finish - tremendous power, superb timing, good dynamics, and most importantly, excellent taste. And he's a great showman as well. Rich could have simply mailed this one in, playing for a small crowd that obviously includes young kids, but he appears to give it his all. Well done Rich!
What I like most is that you can tell he is "feeling" the song and what he is doing. 100% agree with the idea that what you play is as important as what you dont play!
A lot of people have no idea that the Rich Redmond's, Kenny Aronoff's and Ringo Stars of the world made millions on 2&4. Most recorded, most successful, most sought after. Flash and glam will get you your 15 min of fame, the basics will make you a fortune.
Rich and Kenny made money on 2 & 4. Ringo made money because the bass drum said "The Beatles." If there was money to be made on "2 + random fraction & 4+ inconsistent random fraction" then Ringo would definitely be your guy. Ringo and Lars might actually even be the same guy. I get what you mean, I just think Ringo couldn't keep time if he played a metronome.
@@troyoverton14 Ringo and Lars aren't for everyone lol I love Ringo. You wouldn't have the Beatles without Ringo, and you wouldn't have Ringo without the Beatles. Same with Lars and Metallica I think. Ringo and Lars were in the bands and had a big part in writing the music.
@@miaisabelladaniels8393 Kenny Aronoff, Neil Pearth, heck Joe Letz are better. Country drums are very simplistic and rhythmic. The three I named were known to add speed, write down their parts, and be able to with from extreme break neck speed to slow simplistic drumming on a dime (respectively). Good drummer? Yes, but not great.
I don't understand when I see a good drummer playing a jamming song and they are emotionless, looking like a robot. Music is supposed to move you and make you feel good and grove. So when I see someone play like this I smile because that's how a musician should play, with passion!
It's definitely him and Kent Slucher that are the top Country drummers out there. Also love the fact that they hold drum clinics for kids and spend slot of their free time teaching what they love to do!
I got to see Rich do this clinic demo up close. He gives a great lesson in how to play in an arena. That style sounds and feels ridiculous in a small room, like wearing theatre stage makeup to a dinner party. But if you want to play big stages, you have to play (and write the songs) the way big stages require you to play: lots of space between notes; solid, consistent hits; steady time and meter; simple rhythms that can be understood by non-musicians in a huge and noisy space; and motions that convey energy and showmanship visible from far away. It’s off-putting to see this kind of playing from just a few feet away, but that’s the point of the demo. Props to him for staying committed even when the up-close audience withdraws and has “wtf?” expressions in their faces through the first chorus, because by the end, the point is made. (Then he talks about it to make sure everyone got it, but the lesson is there in the performance.) Great work.
Ya'll do realize that this "HACK" is Jason Aldean's touring drummer? I don't necessarily listen to Jason Aldean that much but if anyone would know how to play his songs I think it would be Rich.
Love all the frickin critics on here....I'm sure all of you put forth the time and effort this guy has in establishing himself as a professional ... and who gives a shit who you think he's ripped off as far as playing similarities to other drummers!! We all have and admire other musical influences. As usual, all the critics in Mommies basement posting negativity.
Well said! Plus the critics probably weren't allowed to play drums growing up because it would be too loud in the house or something along those lines haha
Harry......just because he serves the song and plays with that much enthusiasm despite playing it a million times and putting on a little flash for the kids doesnt mean he "sucks". It means hes a team player that had his ego in check, all while achieving a status that only talent hard work and persevierence will get you. Wheres your video........Harry?
Stamp Jockey I believe since around 2012? I think that’s the first walk through video he did of his DW tour kit? And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but DW goes after high profile guys when they make it big or if they’re about to jump ship! Just in recent years they went after chad smith, Glen Sobel from Alice Cooper he’s been touring non stop the last ten years or so? But yeah anyone up and coming or big names, they’ll go after them! They want to get 5heir product out there!
This is a perfect example on how to get a paycheck playing drums. Turn the metronome on, Put your big boy pants on, through the ego in the back seat and just Rock.
+Felix Deluna i'd probably call it a play-through, but he definitely played a different version of the track. Solid either way. It's hard to come by drummers that are tight when playing at a slower tempo while hitting hard.
The 33 individuals who disliked this video has no idea how hard it is to be this talented on the drums. That pocket he has is sweet as hell.
This dude is a savage! That's just killer rock drumming. He sounds like a million bucks
*pop country. Go see Brian Tichy for a kick ass rock drummer

This video should have a hundred thousand likes. And those kids should be bobbin' their heads.

Gotta love that mane face when he plays, non the less, he's badass on the drums.
Tristen Brown He performed for our school today and I thought the same thing but he’s great!

He is taking it lightly. He rocks it out man. Rich is moving up the ranks on my fav drummers.
Wow! Never look at country the same ever again. You wale dude!
Love Rich! So fun to watch!!!
Its 4am, I should be revising for my Physics test but this is more addictive than everything, including all the drugs. God Bless America
What a drummer man!!!
I know he was Jason’s drummer but look how effortlessly he does it. Pure talent
Nice tight pocket. That tight pocket is what makes him the big bucks

Awesome! Rich has great feel and showmanship. Power + Finesse.
Dude is awesome, he's feeling it!
That was awesome!
Crazy Stupid ability..Loved It ..on another level Bro!!
Any drummer that can play quarters on the kick, twirl a stick, pick his nose, and eat it has got mad coordination skills.

Thanks SO much!
Great freaking point. You said it perfectly.
love the deep tones
Damn, Rich's got the style and the groove!
Drumming awesomeness!!
Does it count as a “cover” if he played the original hit recording and about 1,000 live shows with the original performer?
there is no one better than rich Redmond
Rich is the man, very positive and inspiring.. Thanks Rich CRASH....,
Rich is the man 💪

For a country drummer, he's pretty Bonham-esque in his heavy hitting. Beast. \m/
Solid pocket, hits the drums right.
Rich has got it, that's for sure
damn that SNARE !! awesome ,but Rich is the Man !!!
gary overton is this rich from hardcore pawn?
hahahahahahahahahahah@@jamesallen6726

Love how all these people dont realize that he is the drummer for Jason Aldean lol
Ikr, he's been with Jason Aldean a long time, but he was on the scene long before Jason was
Dude used to play in jazz groups thats why Aldean swings so hard 🤘
Amazing nice job

John Fortuna Jr where is this guy's original comment? What did he say?
Nice sound, super easy song.
Big and solid! ...When did Rich Redmond switch from Sonor to DW? (and why?)
I'd guess that's just a kit that was at the store.

Harry do you like Jason aldeans band well if you do your are making fin of his band of what you said that's Jason aldeans real drummer
como é o nome da música?
She's Country - Jason Aldean
If Rich is actually Aldean's drummer explain to me how this is a cover??
@@seangill898 I know that but it's the principle of this not being a cover if he actually played the track
Freegin stud. That is all
Even to this day you don't know who that was
and who he tours with and why he has the money he has now 😙
Thats a bad Carmine Appice impersonation. What was all of that nonsense at 2:18? I can't figure it out.
He plays with music. I don't think he's improvising.
Noah Powell he's the drummer for Jason Aldean, the singer of that song.. so he is improvising alright!
hope he remembers who got him here
Him
😦
He looks like someone is pulling his butt hair!!!
Nowhere near as good as the original
What a clown doesn't even know who rich Redmond is lol
Bad sob
