The finished product looks great and it appears the contractor wasn't familiar with this product and installed it with cheaper standard vinyl siding "J" channel. The old read the instructions completely sure applies here.
I believe they were a cabinet screw (maybe GRK but not sure) that gives the nice flat back part. I used 1 1/4 inch long. I didn't mention it in the video but we also installed OSB behind the siding along this long wall as a remedy for the contractor only trying to find studs to screw to.
