- This Latinx Heritage Month Tiny Desk is celebrating with an 'El Tiny' takeover, featuring a wide array of artists from all corners of Latinidad.

The Tiny Desk had a considerable pop sheen when vocalist Becky G took her place alongside a backing band featuring a string quartet. The stripped down sound of some of her biggest hits offered a rare view of her artistry.
"BAILÉ CON MI EX" is the perfect example of an unforgettable hook. It had the NPR staff audience bopping in place for what she described as a "warm up" for the rest of her set. "MAMII" was originally recorded with Karol G, but performed alone, and the Tiny Desk version was no less a scorcher. Here, interplay with guitarist Justice West at the beginning set the temperature for a slow burn.
The showstopper is her duet with vocalist DannyLux, "CRIES IN SPANISH," a song they did together on her latest album, Esquinas. I have to admit that when he started his part of the song, it was apparent that their voices were kind of made for eachother. And by the time she obliged us with her Tiny Desk concert take on "Shower," she had cast her spell: I ended up singing that chorus for the rest of the day.

She sounds so good live. Her voice sounds clean and very in tune, with a lot of breath control and beautiful melismas. She is undoubtedly a good vocalist and what to say about her charisma and beauty. Proud to represent our Latin culture at such a level.

Becky g canta en español porque solo en latinoanerica tiene éxito, para Norteamérica y especialmente en EEUU becky a nivel musical no existe, no es relevante, por eso ella cuando habla sigue hablando en ingles porque esta luchando por ingresar a ese mercado, desde que fue telonera de fifth harmony Becky viene luchando para ingresar en ese mercado pero hasta hoy en día no puede lograrlo.

As someone who took four years of Spanish in HS, but who is now nearly 30, I remember “uno pequeno” amount, HOWEVER, listening to this Tiny Desk Concert with Becky G is making me want to retake those classes and brush up on mi Espanol bc I could listen/watch this chick all day. I’d heard she’d come so far from her “Friday” days but DAYUM. Girl, go on and sing your little botin off!! She is so fun to watch. You can tell she just lights up every room she walks into and that she’s genuinely having so much performing. So glad she’s found her niche!
