Bon Iver, in my opinion, is the most overlooked and underappreciated group. Their music is felt by the soul.

As a die hard Bon Iver fan, this is possibly their most basic song to react to from a music standpoint. 33 GOD, 45, deathbreast. Essentially anything from their NPR live concert would give you loads more to react to and dissect. The version of Creature Fear from that NPR concert is phenomenal - way more to comment on.

Yeah happy he hit Bon Iver. Such a shame this was the suggested song.

Finally got to see Bon Iver live for the first time this past summer. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. His setlist was perfect from front to back and to experience this version of Blood Bank live was a spiritual experience.

Jenn Wasner (synth player with the jumpsuit) is great. You should check out her own records as Wye Oak and Flock of Dimes. Also go watch Sylvan Esso - WITH LOVE. It's a live concert they did that has Jenn as well as the drummer from Bon Iver.

Michael! Thanks souch for doing some Bon Iver. I have been watching the channel for like 3 years now and it's so sick to see one of my favorite channels cover my favorite artist. Justin is a genius and all his projects are so unique.

Bon Iver played Primavera Sound several years ago and was incredible. My favorite was probably “33 God”. The only way I know to find it on RUclips is by searching BI - PS. Enjoy!

I don’t think the Blood Bank EP songs were recorded at the same time as For Emma. For Emma was the cabin era.

I saw them on this tour (I think a night or two before this? I saw them in Boston) and it was incredible. I usually hate arena shows but they managed to make it feel way more intimate even with the spectacular visuals, and the mixing was perfect. I've been to hundreds of concerts and it was easily top 5 for me.

Holocene and Re:stacks are two of my favorites from Bon Iver’s early stuff before he went more progressive and electronic. My two favorites during the two more electronic albums are 666 and Hey, Ma.

Love Bon Iver and their huge atmospheric sound they’ve developed. You should check out their vocal only performance of Heavenly Father at the Sydney opera house with the Staves. Their guitar arrangements don’t stand out to me in particular, their self titled album probably has the most in that aspect. I love Bon iver for the stripped down earlier acoustic work, the falsetto and lyric content as well as some of the later keyboard and electronic driven work.

The key was to listen to STUDIO version of this. This live version is not it. I’d love to watch your reaction to the non live version. It’s absolutely breathtaking.

So funny to hear someone who has only heard blood bank in this form. Its a song who's live performance has grown and changed SO dramatically from its original. I love both because I am a huge Bon Iver fan. The original has more heart imo

bon iver is great but i still think his best work is with Deyarmond Edison. "bones" and "Heart for Hire" are two of my all time favorite songs. after the first 2 bon iver albums he kinda went off the rails with making intentionally weird and unique snowflake music

I like what I can make out of the lyrics, but the problem I have with today's music is that vocals are too far in the background, drowned out by everything else.
I long for the old days when they put the vocals up front. What's the point of having awesome lyrics if you can't make them out?
Today's musicians need better mixing, both in the studio and live.
