@@Feniksds exactly, there’s literally no other game that captures the imagination and adventurous spirit of youth quite like Zelda games, especially the early 3D ones
If they do port it, I want them to actually complete the game. Because as good as WW is, apparently it's unfinished. Like, there was supposed to be another dungeon or two or three. If I had my way, they'd make it a port of the original (but finished), not the HD remake.
The Wind Waker was a special moment in gaming history, and I believe we owe a lot of that to its soundtrack. Every single track fits exactly the emotion it's supposed to, and this one swells up in the chest and exemplifies one word: Adventure.
Got this on the gamecube for my 9th birthday. Ive played it yearly for a decade. I play sea of thieves now, and this song echoes in the memories of my mind EVERY time i drop sail. I wouldnt have it any other way
Nothing will ever hit home just like The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker but very few games come close to it: First being Sea of Thieves and second Valheim, both great games with the same idea. Always and will love Windwaker!
I love that the original trumpets aren't as loud, that way the theme feels less cartoony and more balanced. It also adds to the moments where you go through a storm as the violins play, or when the bass kicks in when you open a chest during the setting sun. It's even better when you hear it start up as the sun rises again.
The experience of sailing through the open blue sea with this song is amazing every time. No other game has evoked such feelings of freedom and bliss in me. Also I love how the triumphant section at 1:22 almost evokes the call-and-response of a sea shanty!
I was a 2000’s DS kid and played Phantom Hourglass before ever playing Wind Waker. Hearing the Wind Waker ocean theme always fucks me up because it sounds like a wrong version of Phantom Hourglass’s theme 😂
Whats really crazy is that the original music in one of the Wind Waker trailers had the same intro as the one in phantom hourglass, the one in this trailer: ruclips.net/video/BP42wusaHJI/видео.html
I had my first boat trip recently. This song came to my mind first, played this on the deck while sailing across through the cloudy, rippling vast sea with a few rocky forested islands on the other side. It was one of the greatest experience I've had in my life.
Same here. At least the one i got close to completing. The first zelda game i saw was ocarina from my older brother. That opening music still ingrained
God I love this music. It’s makes me feel so excited and alive. It fits so well sailing through the vast open seas with the bright and colorful graphics of Wind Waker (especially the HD version). Makes me feel like it’s a nice summer day at the waterpark.
I remember back when i was a kid my brother and i would play this game every day, though i was doing more watching than playing lol, but this brings me back to those sleepless nights as a little kid with no worries in the world
Played this game for the first time about a year ago at 26 years old, no attachment or nostalgia (I never played any Zelda games as a kid) and this is one of the only games I've played in recent years that's stuck with me. I think it can truly be called a masterpiece because it's so impactful to a completely new player even being as old as it is, a timeless classic even more so than any of the other Zelda games. I tried all of them and the only ones able to hook me to the point where I completed them are Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, and Breath of the Wild. Going to play Tears of the Kingdom soon, I'm glad this series exists.
My only Zelda game I’ve ever played has been breath of the wild (and age of calamity, though I don’t really think that counts) so I desperately hope that Zelda gets the same treatment (albeit a lot better) that Mario’s 35th anniversary got so I can finally experience these amazing games for myself
Mario 35th was kind of a letdown, yes. I partially blame the Pandemic for ruining the celebration. Zelda got its Skyward Sword port. I was definitely EXCITED for it.
