I've watching your 2 videos about the Mini Play, very fun and well done! 👍 Now, because of this, I chose the Mini Play (over the Mini Mk II) and I'm wating to putting my hands on it! I think this is a "misunderstood" keyboard. Really, *what do you expect for the price it costs?* It's obvious its GM internal sounds will not sound like state-of-the-art VSTis or something like that. But hey! The sounds are pretty nostalgic! You could recreate those MIDI-based videogame music from the 90s! And with a looper pedal, it could be maximum fun! 😃

Beginner question. How do I record the internal sounds onto my Mac? Assuming I need to go from headphone out into an audio interface then into the Mac. Any recommendations on a cheap interface that will do the job? Tkx
@@BoneZone Thanks dude. I did some research and picked up an M-Audio M-Track Solo. Works a treat, especially with my old Logitech Grunge pedal. Quite nice turning a piano sound into a thrashy guitar synth noise.

Honestly the mpk2 is all I have demoed and the only thing I kind of have right now. I've been looking into the yamaha sonogenic and I think that would be cool to get and demo.
The mpk mini play. For me I wanted those built in sounds where you don't need a computer, and you still get the midi functions of the regular mpk mini if you want them.
Does anyone know if there are ways of programming one touch chords? On the keys or the pads? I thought I saw a video that allows the manipulation via computer program but now I can't find the video again. Any info would be helpful!
I would go with the mini play. It can do almost everything the mk2 can do but it has sounds built in so you don't have to plug into a computer, but you can if you want to

Hi, i get this nice Keyboard, and i use my Zoom B1on, a fine and "cheap" MultiFX with onboard Loopersection ;-) its works very well, any other Looper do the job too, its a question of price ;-) Have fun!
In my setup I plug the mini play into a mixer because i use a lot of instruments but you can plug it straight into the looper pedal if you want. I usally start with a 4 bar drum loop, then add a bass line, then I play trombone over it. Its very very fun and a great time killer
When I get back to the west this is how I want to o it although iPad has a mixer looper that may be better make sure the looper is battery powered and its totally portable

A little complicated but here's what I think you can do. Live playing you cant transpose except in octaves... having said that, you can change it in the software to a specific sound bank (which are saved as "favorites", the mpk mini play has 8 custom presets). So for example you can save sound bank 1 as the key of C and sound bank 2 in the key of E or something... if that makes any sense.
Yes, Totally ok. I had an electric piano growing up. I didnt know how to play it but had hours of fun messing with sounds and eventually was able to play piano.
The preset sounds wont change, but you can use the keyboard as a midi controller and play any sound you want through a program like ableton or fl studio, which does require a computer.
It's ofc best to learn some basics, but sure you can make music without piano knowledge/skills. Creativity doesn't have rules. You can also learn piano online

There are built in reverb effects, but I think at some point in the video I add a hall of reverb effect pedal that makes it sound really cool
