    it works for me. the brightness setting of my loptop has gone useless. I cant decrease the full brightness until the battery often drained quickly. Just turned it off and removed the battery, pressed the power button for 15 times before switching on. It was restored then. Thanks!

    So the Function key brightness overrides the Windows display parameters which were at 100%.. I suppose that makes sense in retrospect as a desktop can't adjust brightness controls on an external monitor. Pointing those out was a big help.

      - If available, select the brightness button until the desired brightness is achieved.
      - If your display is still dim, continue to the next step.
      - In Windows, open HP Support Assistant.

      - Turn on the laptop, and then immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu displays.
      - Press the down arrow key to go to F10 BIOS Setup, and then press Enter.

    My problem was, when i disconnected the power, the brightness would drop significantly on battery mode, even when everything was set to high. Here's my solution:
    The option not mentioned in the video is to check the settings on your integrated graphics, which is possibly Intel or AMD. Just right click on your desktop and you should see a selection for Intel//AMD settings. Hunt all the options, its buried in there somewhere.
    Mine turned out to be AMD's Vari-Bright which was turned on by default. After disabling the Vari-Bright the brightness shot up to maximum immediately. Others will Intel graphics have reported similar success.

    I purched HP15s GR0500au RYZEN 5 model from hp world on 01.08.2021 and I realised after bringing it home that the brightness of this model is very high. I tried to fix the brightness level by adjusting the bar handle in settings but it was of no help.

    • @HPSupport
      @HPSupport  3 года назад

      +mahmoud abd elkarem In the BIOS there is an option under the "Advanced" tab, Scroll down to the "Hybrid Graphics" checkbox, and UNCHCEK that box. If you are having this issue, this simple thing could fix it for you. What that does is enable the AMD graphics chip, and when that is enabled it will interfere with the fn-f9/fn-f10 options to dim the screen. If you don't have that option then you don't have dual video chips, and your issue is probably drivers with the video and/or hotkey software.

    my laptop isnt so much struggling with dimity, its just whenever i put the brightness up, the whites on the screen get too bright and its like the shadowing and certain details dont show up and the colour seems to be more washed. i dont know what to do about this. ive tried calibrating my colours but when it comes to the gamma part, i cant get it to a place where its not either too high or too low. i have the HP pavilion g6 notebook (maroon), processor is AMD E2-1800 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.70 GHz System Type x64-based PC. I'm also apparently up-to-date with all updates, i thought itd maybe be the driver but apparently not.

    This doesnt fix my problem, whenever i open a different application the screen synchronizes the brightness, light, shadows and everything to the application i am running. Say if i run a movie and the scene is dark, screen changes colors gets darker and if i instantly switch tab to example google sheets, the letters seem very bright and the whole screen. I have changed 4 different laptops so far and i have never had this problem. There is some sort of Auto brightness/gamma/color setting running in the background which i cannot find. Please advise, it is very annoying to my eyes. Thanks
