@@TheWeldLab bubba I would love to see some more tig work and more 6010 roots maybe break down the heat form your sa 200 so we can try it out at our trade schools or wherever we practice
Great videos. Subscribed last month. I did a career change(at 54..) and just got my first welder/fitter helper job. Not a welder yet but your videos are very informative. Thank you.
@@mikeundereood1071 Hey man. My goals are my goals. You don't think they are right, you can scroll by. You are the only person who has said anything. I'm a painter, have been doing it since my senior year of high school but after seeing your channel.. It has motivated me to learn welding and attend a school to learn.
The machine you have is set just fine, next time try to adjust your temp to 52,53 on your remote that setting will be your sweet spot for stainless sch.10. Try it!!
When you’re caping a 2” stainless sch. 10, what amps would you run at? Also would you weld the cap in 4 quarters or would you weld in half’s?? And how many minutes would you wait for it to cool down between each pass on the cap only? Wondering for a test I have coming up soon.
Nice video bro 💯 Do you usually grind out your tacks when it come to 3oclock & 9 ? & what about on your stick welding do you weld it until u get to your tack or just tie it in?...
You can wet your finger and feel argon flow but your lips are very sensitive, you can really feel the tiniest purge flow with your lips. Also you can feel argon flow out of a gas lens or just the gas flow out of the cup. I always set my flow meter by feel rather by cubic feet per hour to give me a smooth non turbulent purge. Too much argon can be worse than not enough. Also remember argon is heavier than air, always if at all possible introduce the argon below the level of the weld joint and have your vent point at a higher level. Think of it like you are filling the pipe with water, as the pipe fills it displaces the air inside which flows out of the vent opening on top. I worked in aerospace primarily, so some of what I advise may be overkill but the stuff we welded is in the space station right now.
Ay man no lie your videos get me super excited for working, im 18 doing combo starting tig pipe then tig stainless pipe soon , your videos give alot more good info for pipe welders and its so much more personal.
You can also use a sheet metal deburring tool, to also get in the root, to get your grinding shavings out from the backside of the root. I used to use it, to make sure my roots were as I chose to not fail! AS I always say keep'em guessin!!
Nice stainless work. I do my 6 in sched 10 at 100 to 1 08 amps with a tight gap and Walk the cup 99 percent of The time. Nice Seeing different techniques applied. Props on the glove or rag on the purge line. I agree, it's all you need. 🔥💪
Sick bro, the root on the stainless steel came out nice and flat all the way through. I have issues on the corners, usually blows a big hole and starts looking sloppy with all the rod i quickly fill in with. Any advice to keep it smooth all the way around? Thanks man! I’m working on getting my stick certification pretty soon. 👌🏼👍🏼
Love your videos man keep them coming i want to be a welder looking into going to a school but idk if i should don’t want to go in and not really get taught what i need to learn but love your videos did you go to a welding school or you started as a helper ?? God bless
Nice seeing a lot of younger guys doing trades work. I'm 23 and just rigged out in Oct doing gas distribution work. My advise to you is to get into gas distribution cause usually when a company finds a good hand they'll keep you working in the long run.
The grind never stops my man! Keep up the awesome content, your videos motivate me every time I watch one. Getting ready to sell my Mustang to get a truck for when I get into rig welding. 👍🏻
I like your videos, bro, thank you for sharing with us! I have a question. So not long ago I've grinded a bevel like you did in this video (the stainless pipe ). I ended up with a grinding powder inside the pipe, contamination and failed Xray. So , how do you extract that dust out of the pipe, and do you even get any issues with it. I extract the powder with some magnets from time to time, but not working on stainless. I only had low pressure purge, do you think that may caused the problem?
The only alway you fix the pipe not being level is If you roll it. The only thing that can go wrong there is you gonna draw the pipe in or out at the 90. Or you can also draw the flange to the left or right side.
Great job man, love your videos, just starting to weld on my own as a side hobby for now, have always been fascinated about welding and metalwork. Where i live there isnt market for rig welding atleast not at the moment. But yea. Great job.
Dude, what do your proceuders say about weld prep? Every procedure I've ever welded to, and every travel sheet I've been given for a job, has always said: "all peices to be welded shall be free from oil, grease, diry, rust, paint, milscale and all joints to be welded must be ground to sound metal prior to welding
How do you purge a pipe with a lot of 90s ts and really long? Besides using bags? I always purge from the lowest part of the pipe but sometimes when im welding at the very top of the line it wont purge right.
What’s up bro it’s been a while but it’s good to see that everything is going good for you Cant wait till I get my welder and get my own thing going just waiting on that bonus check till then I’ll keep watching your videos and keep learning. Nice work bro🤙🏼

Be careful for them saw blades. The paint can come off and be on the bevel causing weld porosity.
