Checking in. How is everyone doing? I started this RUclips channel in hopes of building a community of like minded people so we can all support one another ❤️
Thank you for creating this channel! You’ve really inspired me💞 I am a family medicine doctor overseas but I want to move to USA. Please provide an email where we can reach you at. Thank you❤️❤️
Right!! I was looking at old video of when London was just a few months old and Wyatt couldn’t even say chocolate milk ... now he’s asking for it non stop 😅
I am a new mom and also a doctor. My dilemma is being good both at being a mom and in my career but you make me realize that its okay to step back from work a little and be present for your kids. I just found your channel and you are amazing! ❤
Its really encouraging to see you value your children and balancing work. I'm matching FM in March and I would like to have children and after talking with my husband we decided that we both aim to work part time after our residencies
Yay family medicine 🙌🏽 it’s a lot easier to go up in work hours from an administrative stand point. Harder to pull back, especially if you already built a patient panel.
So proud of you for choosing your kids first! I made the same choice. I work part time. As much as i wish I could stay at home, we can't afford it. So I work part time so I can be with my kids as much as possible.
Hi Jenny(: just wanted to reach out and let you know how much you have influenced and positively impacted my life. I found out I was pregnant during my first year of dental school... unexpectedly 🤪 of course I was super happy but at the same time I was SO OVERWHELMED and discouraged. Most people in my life told me I would have to drop out. I didnt know what to do... and I found your videos. Just watching your journey and seeing how you were able to do it and persevere gave me hope I could do it too and encouraged me to keep going. Now my son is two years old and I will be graduating in May ❤️ there were A LOT of failures and bumps along the way... but in the end we are almost there!! So thank you Jenny for helping and inspiring me so much.
That is amazing! Most people who that tell you you can’t do something usually are the ones who haven’t tried it themselves. I am so proud of you! I’m sure you inspire those with your circle. Almost graduation. Hopefully you’ll be able to have a celebration this year 🥳
This come ontime, this particular video cured me from a mom disease that long to go back to school but do not want to separate from the children away to pursuit education. Postpone the education for a while but the heart is not at home with the children.. thankyou fot the inspiration jenny
Thank you very much for the beautiful inspiration I'm tired of seeing my parents growing old when all I do is skip family time for endless amounts of studying and working , becoming a doctor is definitely worth it but enslaving myself to the workforce is not , ain't no amount of money is worth being prioritized over family ...
@@drjennale I'm good. My daughter is turning 1 next weekend 😢. I am loving this vlog. I didn't have my kids until after residency but you are reminding me that making a decision to do a sort of nontraditional path with medicine was the best decision and I can always pivot latter when my kids are older. Also...I am working on starting an online business which would never have been possible if i was still doing private practice.
Hi Jenny! Really enjoy watching you! I’m planning to work part time as well while I start my family when I finish Medical School! You really inspire me to push through and still enjoy life even with all the responsibilities med school brings! Thank you 🤗
@@drjennale I'm feeling good☺️. Ups & downs...all part of life. But I'm on track now... doing things as I planned & growing 🌱 Thank you for asking 🙆🏻♀️ you're so kind & amazing ❤️ I've always looked up to you:)
I have started working full time as a nocturnist and it's killing my fitness regimen. I have been trying to work out at home with both of my kids. My 4 year old lifts my 25 lb dumbells and my 1 year old does jumping jacks with me.
Damn you 4 year old is strong! What’s your sleep schedule like as a nocturnist? I felt like I wasn’t sleeping when I was on nights cause I was still breastfeeding 😭
@@drjennale He lifts in a very unsafe way, I'm constantly afraid he's going to hurt himself. I honestly hate nights, but this was at a hospital that I really want to work at. I normally get about 4-7 hours of sleep the week that I'm on. When I'm off, I'm really off and spend all the time at home.
Yasss! Granted, we still have the Cares Act and I’m not paying anything to my school loans. I’ll give up update when we start paying down and see if that stresses us financially.
I lost all the footage from the Q&A with Stan cause my laptop broke right before Christmas 😭 we’re thinking maybe we should do a Live? What do you think?
Love love this kind of video, as it is tough to be playing both mom & working doctor roles in a real life... Keep inspiring us and thankyou for being you❣️
This has to be the cutest video ever!! I just love how Wyatt asks you “what’s his name” 🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️♥️ your kids are just so adorable 😍😍 god bless!!!♥️♥️♥️ always love your videos!
Wyatt is becoming quite the young man. Amazing how fast the kiddos grow. Mine is four and some change. Actually chuckled when London engaged the camera at 8:26 . Sometimes it's good to turn the news off. With the pandemic and the negativity in the White House, it's upsetting. Hoping in the next ten days things will be better. Looks like Biden will enact the Defense Production Act. Hope this will help with vaccine availability and PPE. Glad you're choosing to spend time with the family. You really have your priorities straight. Shower the kids and Stan with love every chance you get! You've set it up to where work will always be there when you want/need it. Be proud of yourself and enjoy all that you've worked for. Regarding the vaccine, what are your thoughts on being the only one vaccinated against COVID in the household? I'm still taking precautions at home as to not expose anyone. Basically nothing changes in terms of my behavior. The vaccine rollout is frustratingly slow. People are dying, and things are the worst they've been. No one seems to take the shelter-in-place or stay at home orders seriously anymore. I realize people need to work in order to pay bills and put food on the table, but there are safer ways to do this without all the collateral damage! /rant off. ;) Night off. Time for some coffee and to do some work around our place. Stay safe!
I think the issue with vaccine distribution is at the state level. There just isn't enough funding to roll out vaccines on this large of a scale. I am hoping that would change in the near future. I feel some relief even though I'm the only who got the vaccine in my household. Given that I'm the one with the most exposure. But same as you Matt, precautions are still the same. We go out once a week to get our groceries, not much socially distant out door activities currently because it has been cold and raining the last few weeks. Otherwise, we have been home. It is going to be a rough few weeks in the hospital seeing the surge from the holiday gatherings. It is frustrating and heartbreaking to see because it didn't have to get this bad. Stay safe my friend ❤️
Hey! I liked your video sm! I just wanted to ask how you have 350 k in school loans? Is that all the money you have to pay back from university? I thought to study medicine it was around 10 k a year?
Loved the video! Question I didnt know the covid vaccine wasnt approved for kids. Is there any updates on when they will come out with one? And any updates on when it will be available for the rest of the population?:) hope all is well for you!
Hi Bree! The vaccines are not approved for kids yet because kids weren’t included in the study. But! Trials are already underway for both Pfizer and Moderna. We should have data soon. I am hoping this new leadership will sign the bill soon to help states fund vaccine roll out. Hoping the general public will have access within the next few weeks.
Thank you Jenny 4 another amazing video.. Just one question.. Is it okay to travel right after getting your second dosage of the vaccine (in terms of the temporary side effects)
The vaccine is 95% effective so there is still a chance we can catch SARS-CoV2 until we are able to reach herd immunity (70-90% immunity in the community). That’s why we still urge people to wear mask and socially distant. That being said, if everyone in my family was vaccinated, I would feel a little safer to travel to lower risk areas.
Me too, I want to be a neurosurgeon but people keep saying I'm not supposed to think that big cause my family is supposed to be my only priority and this specialty is the hardest. Should I still continue or just opt for something simpler which I am not sure I want?😢😢
I think not being there enough for your children is something all mom's fear. But in reality all mothers, with the exception of wealthy families in modern times, have had to work since the dawn of humanity. It takes a village!! Don't feel bad or guilty!!
Capitalism is a pain in the but. Why can't we have financial support for families? We worship the god of money...the very old and the very young hold no value to our society....how horrible!
