Thank you for watching my videos! Great question- I believe everything is possible however, it will be very very very difficult to do so. US programs want to see US clinical experience- and hands on electives are ideal to show that. Without Observerships or electives in the US, it’s very unlikely to get an interview. Again, everything in this world is possible but the chances are low from my experience as an IMG and as someone conducting interviews now.
Family medicine residency vs internal medicine residency.. which is lesser stressful ?
Great question but quite frankly every single residency program is stressful. While specialty does play a factor in determining the degree of stress, there are a lot more factors that are important to consider. Most importantly, anything is stressful if you do not enjoy what you do and/or do not have the support of the leadership. It's important to pick what you enjoy and find a program that is a good fit for you as an individual.
