My brothers would rent this movie from time to time growing up and it was always such a treat. Classic movie that puts a smile on my face every time. To all the fans of The Last Dragon, your comments are universal and positive, don't lose the glow.
The 80's were and still the best are ever for music and everything else in this world! Back in the 80's this country was awsome and the deamons in the whitehouse were still in chains! But thanks to movies like this I can remember back to those days in the 80's when me and my older brother would kung fu fight in the living room to this movie lol =-D!
I have this on my phone so whenever I face any adversary in life (term papers due, need to workout, etc) I plug in my headphones and listen to this to get motivated to kick some ass. Corny? Perhaps, makes me feel awesome? Sho'Nuf!
I remember my big sister taking me to NY to see this movie back in the 80's when it came out. This movie has stuck with me and influenced me so much it's crazy. I even started going to Tae Kwon Do school because of this movie!
classic track to one of the best martial arts movies of the 80's, i remember when i was a small child i used to rent this film out of the video store and watching this film a lot. man me and my bro must have wore that fucking tape out. still me and my bro live in england. and not a lot of people know about this film in our country. so me and my bro feel this is our film. we always wanted to meet lee roy green. if you have seen the movie truist me you want to. THE SHOGUN OF HARLEM.
Yeah, I had it on VHS growin' up -- wore it out. I would do all the Martial Arts scenes as a kid, and get into it. Loved Karate Movies as a kid in the 80s.
Ha ha those were the days, funny thing is i live in england and not too many people know about this film over here,to me and my young bro it is a lost gem.
The Last Dragon still remains to this day my favorite martial arts movie. I met Taimak last year at San Diego Comic Con. I've met quite a handful of celebrities but meeting Taimak was the only one that I was really excited to meet.
I can't beleive she is gone. Such a beautiful spirited woman she was in her final ays. We love you beutiful - say Hi to Prince for us - both gone too soon. *tears*
i love this movie, watched it the other night actually.i own this movei,i watch it all the time it never gets old.Taimak and this movie got me into Martial Arts for sure.i wanted that Glow!!!!! still do!!!
+BrockL191 But we could never have a villain as pimp as Sho 'Nuff and he's probably too old to play the role again...eh. I'm kind of glad this doesn't have a sequel. They usually just end up tarnishing the original's charm save for very few exceptions (Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future 2, etc.).
When I hear this playing, I begin the war with all the imaginary villians that surround me, seeking to destroy me. From there, the most epic of battles begins...
This is still hands down my favorite movie, good music cool bad guy. its just sad nobody gave it more credit for being an all around great movie. but its good they have dvds ha ha.
Of almost all of the 1980s movies, the very funny ones,I like "Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon" as #1,"Ghostbusters," as #2,"Beverly Hills Cop", as #3,"Little Shop of Horrors", as #4 and "Major League" as#5. This would be my top5 movies list.
This beats the living Hell outta the Karate Kid any day of the week twice on weekends! Daniel-san was a straight punk ass while Leroy was a peaceful warrior.
Haha true. I laughed so damn hard at the part where Leroy comes in and they say "Hey you wanna smoke a little herb, drink a little" and he says "No thanks, I've had too much already." Perfect anti-drug add
I love how this song builds the intensity as it goes and then BAM at 3:38 is the payoff "You are the last dragon, you possess the power of the glow." This song is like the story of the movie and they coincide perfectly. They sure don't make them like they used to.
This soundtrack was one of the only tapes I had for a long time as a kid,I used to sleep to it when walkmans first hit the scene! i know this soundtrack forward and backward LOL!... The Glooooooow! LMAO
dude, this was and still is a great movie. listening to this song again, is it just me or do the bells in the beginning remind me of the taco bell commercial?
my master from the sky is bruce lee. i believe in myself and love holding my head up high. i wish you was still here bruce cause i wish i got to meet you. you gave me a lot insperation thank you so much. you are my martial arts hero. i hope i get to meet you in heaven.
Sho'nuff: Am I the meanest? Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Sho'nuff: Am I the prettiest? Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Sho'nuff: Am I the baddest mofo low down around this town? Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Sho'nuff: Well who am I? Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Sho'nuff: Who am I? Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Sho'nuff: I can't hear you... Sho'nuff 's Goons: Sho'nuff! Pure 80s magic.
This was one of the best movies ever! The part when he finally gets his glow is priceless!

I caught the last 15 minutes of this movie on HBO (or some other movie channel) and had this song stuck in my head the rest of the day.
I have this on my phone so whenever I face any adversary in life (term papers due, need to workout, etc) I plug in my headphones and listen to this to get motivated to kick some ass. Corny? Perhaps, makes me feel awesome? Sho'Nuf!

BrockL191 well you have the ufc fighter bruce leroy
I agree, that would be cool.
+Daric Soldar you're right. the shogun of Harlem was great. they would never be able to replace him.
My glow is overflowing right now
Thumbs up if you study or practice any kind of martial art and you will never stop looking for the glow, till you posses it
When I hear this playing, I begin the war with all the imaginary villians that surround me, seeking to destroy me. From there, the most epic of battles begins...
I don't understand how you could see the movie and miss this song, its fucking awesome
Playtime's over boy!!!
The secret awaits eye's unclouded by ambition, those bound by desire seek only that which can be held in the hand!
tobroke2007 there is still 1 place you haven't looked, and only there will you you find the true master
They should re-release this movie next year in March for its 30th anniversary

Booker T the pro wrestler should play SHO-NUFF....HE CAN DO ALL HIS OWN STUNTS AND KICKS..AND HE GOT THE LONG DREDS TOO!!!
I can dig that, suckaaaaaaa!!!!!!
Now that you say it bro. Your right, I couldn't think of a more perfect casting-choice for him in a last-dragon remake
I've always thought Booker T looked and sounded somewhat like Sho Nuff
posquale21 great idea and the ufc fighter bruce leroy as bruce leroy

"I sock it 2 U~~U sock it 2 me"~~~Now, we both have the POWER of the GLOW!~!
LOVE THIS MOVIE
I have seen this movie a hundreds times when i was still a kid. I even thought the movie was named: Leroy
the remake is going to be sweet cant wait for it
yes... play time's over, boy!!
This movie would've never been as legendary as it is, if it was not for that bad ass soundtrack and ShoNuff.
This soundtrack is the greatest ever to me because it packs so much power just like the movie.
I like this Mr. Nuff's intensity. He'd make a great counselor at a fat camp.
the remake is gonna be beast Samuel L. Jackson says he cant wait to revive Sho'Nuff's character
Thanks so much for this posting, 5/5 stars.
dis my workout song lol
Those three guys at Sum Dum Goi were classic. "Ain't no masters here.....Ain't no slaves either!" hahahaha.

Barry Gordy produced and directed this film and he's a Sagittarius like myself LOL.only a SAG could put the Psychedelici fusion in this film.Classic
I had the red glow in 2007/2008 for about 7 months then lost it. I cannot even enplane its power but I lost it one day it was just gone.
The best theme song
I love how this song builds the intensity as it goes and then BAM at 3:38 is the payoff "You are the last dragon, you possess the power of the glow." This song is like the story of the movie and they coincide perfectly.
They sure don't make them like they used to.
i miss songs like this. songs that only make sense as an action movie theme song.
