When she first appeared in the euphoria everyone was saying she was amazing. Now that she blew up and everyone loves her she sucks. Lol. It’s funny how if she wasn’t this beautiful, and people didn’t like her no one would be talking about her being a “bad actress” Funny how when she was new, and blowing up she was amazing in euphoria everyone said. Aww I think Sydney is a very pretty, talented actress. She has been acting since she was a little girl like age 7 or 8. Plus she is so interesting! She is a master mechanic you know! Sydney can easily take apart and put together cars, has high intellect, and I hear she is super kind to everyone. I love her looks because she is relatable and her figure, eyes and smile are stunning! I like her so much and look forward to watching her career grow. She is beautiful just the way she is~!
I didn't know about the mechanic part. I only know about Sydney because my daughter likes it when I watch Euphoria with her. Now I'm going to look her up!

Sydney was fantastic in Euphoria. Her crying looked real as can be. She had tons of emotions on that show. She knocked it out of the ballpark. Everyone did a great job on Euphoria.

i follow her on instagram, she posted a photo a year ago and it was so stunning i ss it and i still have it just to look at it for inspiration in my art and also in my fitness journey. i thought she was so drop dead gorgeous and there was just something about her smile, she looked like a real American sweetheart to me. idk how anyone could say shes not pretty

Is she kidding? There are plenty of actresses that aren't pretty and can't act. I understand what she's saying, but I don't agree. I think she's pretty and can act. I can think of several women on tv that are a big deal and shouldn't be.
I believe Sydney is a talented actress. Her performances in Euphoria and Reality were impressive. To say that Sydney is not attractive is like claiming that pizza isn't delicious.
I first saw her in Handmaid's Tale, i thought she played the part really well (and incidentally was super hot). However i have never felt the need to share or broadcast that opinion to anyone (until now in her defence!). Also had decent appearances in Sharp Objects, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I get freedom of speech etc but why Baum would feel the need to sh-- on Sweeney like this i do not know. I love the film Dead Ringers but it's not HER film exactly. Its David Cronenberg's film really! Maybe she should use her position of privilege to educate us on what true beauty and acting skill is, not make subjective comments about someone else who, until now, could have had a starring role in one of her films? People develop and change and some improve... I hope Baum has the capacity to do so too.
I trust the producer lady, she's got decades of experience in the industry. Sydney has only been famous for a few years. Sometimes a glorified actress needs to hear such words not to become full of herself.
Then why didn’t she say it to Sydney Sweeny’s face. Why in an interview if she felt the need to talk about her that bad? It felt like she just doesn’t like her and it has nothing to do with experience. If she wanted to give Sydney constructive criticism about her acting she could’ve used to connections to contact her but she didn’t.
Sydney’s beauty may not be universal or by usual standards, but she has her own beauty. And i think she’s working hard in every project she is in. Well, for the lady producer, she said her opinion.

I havent liked a single show that I have seen Sydney on, and I can't warm up to her on interviews, but Baum's comments were so pointless, Does she really think it is women that should find Sydney attractive? Does she think she is Sydney's target audience?
I don't find Father Of The Bride to be great either- just a movie trying to portray male incompetence as "endearing"... but I know I am not the target audience for that movie.
If Carol had made a greater point about the state of Hollywood at the moment, without naming names I would have really appreciated and respected that, but this just came across as immature and unbecoming, especially for someone in her position within the industry and society.

Sydney Sweeney is one of the most gorgeous women in the world. She is also a good mannered artist from what I've seen so far. I'm not a huge fan of her filmography, not to say she's bad just that it doesn't resonate much with me. And that is subjective. However comments like that aren't very constructive. Critique should be supported by points. Ones that educate you, not slow you down. This woman was not critiquing her, she was being malicious.

Sydney is gorgeous, gracious, and witty. I do not agree that she is a particularly good actress, though. She nails the role of Cassie in Euphoria, but I never fully buy her in other more serious roles.. her voice and cadence don’t make for a very convincing performance whenever the character isn’t a boy-crazy valley girl teenager. That being said, she certainly does not deserve to be bullied or reduced down to just her looks.

So, a producer which had her last hit when the stone age of entertainment was barely in colour televised...and who only produced TWO barely successful movies dares to criticize someone she doesn't even know.

First, Hollywood doesn't forget to remind us every 34.6 seconds that the movies now are made for a more "modern audience" while impressively failing to pull said audience into the cinemas. Second, in Carol Baums movies were actresses that at that time were definitely not more talented than Sydney.
Third, Sydney is a fresh breath of feminity in this wretched hollywood were you actually have to ask the acting humans their pronouns because just from looking you wouldn't even know if they are actually female.
Fourth,...even on a bad day Sydney sweeney could never act more talentless than the likes of Brie Larson or Daisy Ridley..

I have no idea. The only reason I even know who she is is because my daughter likes when I watch Euphoria with her. That show isn't really a show where they act. They're just a bunch of good looking people brought together.
Which brings me to my next point. Saying Sydney isn't pretty might be the biggest case of sour grapes ever. Lady, you're objectively old and haggard. While Sydney may not be a supermodel, she's obviously pretty, with a great body. And again, so what if she's not pretty? I don't get the point of the attack out of nowhere.
