All this voice does is put focus on the ultra rich indigenous Australians in Canberra and I'd never vote for that in a million years.
@@WesleyAird I'll only listen to people who have a cup of tea and a biscuit (uneaten) while they lecture me in a calm voice to infer intelligence and special information 😉
Vote NO to this constitutional change if you believe that each individual is fundamentally responsible for their own future. Vote YES if you believe that race or heritage should define an individual's place in our society.
Gingernut biscuits [if I am correct], absolutely, a calculated partial dunking [in a cuppa hot tea] is what makes them crack n' snap with every bite, then, dissolved on the taste buds of your tongue to then be washed down by a good swig of hot tea [no milk, no suger, please].
I grew up with kids (some of them Children of Stan Gran Sr), they used to tell me all sorts of strange stuff. Like they would receive government payments for mowing the lawn and stuff like that. It was at this time I wondered why there was this division in our society based on being Aboriginal or not. At that stage I didn't know about all of these guilt trips that people now hang over the head of every white Australian like 'White Australia policy' or 'The stolen generation' or anything like that. I was never exposed to anything like that, my Dad grew up in Kempsey and there were Aboriginals all over the town, my Dad had very friendly relationships with all the people he knew there and I (as a kid) didn't know the difference between his friends that were Indigenous or not. So this whole Yes vote and especially the campaigning for it is extremely racist in my opinion. It does not promote equality and the promoters are hiding behind this lie of recognition. recognition of what exactly? I am pretty sure it was mentioned on this channel that according to the census information, the number of indigenous people recorded is vastly overstated as there is no onus of proof, You can just claim that you are indigenous. This drastically skews the population of indigenous people and also the level of government allocation of funding. Another interesting statistic was that 1/7 indigenous people live remotely. This too also drastically affects the level of funding required to assist such groups. Overall I don't think there should be special funding based on someone being indigenous, it should be special funding based on people living remotely, just like the onus of supplying internet and telecommunication services. There should not be Abstudy there should only be Austudy. There are many other areas that are quite clearly divisive and discriminatory based on race, culture and genetic heritage. If we want our country to be 'our' country then we have to stop using the terms 'indigenous, first nations' and so on for political purposes. Not indigenous lands but Australian lands. No native title, no specific benefits given to any one group, what is accessible by one group is accessible by all. Being indigenous is not a disadvantage like being in a wheelchair, I would say when judged on merit it is not a disadvantage at all. If you have the same level of education, health, intelligence as the next person then you will have the same opportunities (luck aside). I am a bit sick of being told by someone that has decided to vote Yes that voting no is racist or timid or you are only voting that way because you are scared, it is like a five year old school yard bully. I ask many of these people why they are voting yes, not one of them has given a cohesive answer yet. It is all just fluff and 'recognition' and "it's just right' and 'they deserve it' and rubbish answers like that. Not one person has been able to articulate why it is important, right or why 'they' deserve it.
"If you have the same level of education, health, intelligence as the next person then you will have the same opportunities (luck aside)." but they don't see www.closingthegap.gov.au/national-agreement/targets
I have indigenous people around me. We all get on there is no problems and they seem to be doing well. I will be voting no. And I love ginger bread cookies but I didn’t know there were other recipes. You can do a greta and simple desert roll with them just with some wiped cream.
I was surprised when I checked the wrapping on my packet of Ginger Nut biscuits and noticed that it actually referred to Queensland. And I thought that odd for a national product.
Thanks Wes, for the work you put into these videos. I subscribed a while back, and appreciate the calm thoughtful way you approach a topic which seems to have fired up people's passions. I don't like the divisiveness, i don't like the lack of information, and i really don't like the way AnAl and the big corporations have been pushing this down our throats. I beleive a royal commission to find out where the money currently being allocated to indigenous affairs is being spent (and by whom) would be a lot more help to all of Australia than enshrining the greed and corruption of the Canberra elites into our constitution. Oh, and yes, I'm definately a dunker !!
You can make a great ripple cake with ginger nut biscuits and cream laced with butterscotch schnapps. Thank you for another great video, it's so good to hear from an indigenous person who isn't part of the elite.

MLK Jr "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
Your dead right. If Australia keeps heading down this path of treating aborigines as victims then nothing will change. Aborigines need to take real responsibility for there own outcomes and stand proud( content of character) then will prevail.
Essentially there are two parts the the referendum on the Voice. Firstly there is the warm and fluffy introduction as displayed in some posts, you might say a “hale and fair well” moment. It is about time the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders were recognised in the Constitution. But, and everything comes after the but❗️If we were to liken the second part of the Voice Campaign to a red car then we would discover the following. The Car is still on the drawing board. The project is still in development. It’s formate is still being shaped does not even have a colour. Still to come, we are to learn AFTER the referendum, is how it will be represented by the Indigenous people, how many sitting members, how will it interface with the executive government, how will it be funded❓ Most importantly for me is how it will impact and change the quality of life for the Indigenous people living in rural and remote communities❓❓❓
I don't drunk! Thank you for another informative tutorial. My main reason for thinking I should vote no, is I perceive this to be divisive racially. If I voted yes, I would be patronising.
I would like to do the right thing for indigenous Aussies, but I believe that there is more to it than meets the eye. I watched the Kitchen Cabinet with Linda Burney who is very likable but there is something that those on the 'Yes' side need to clarify when Linda and Co say things like '......the Uluru Statement - In Full'. What is 'the full'. Also, when there are hardcore socialists involved in the formulation of The Canvas and The Voice as well as the PM being economical with the truth it means I'm the 'No' camp.
I recommend downloading the Uluru statement as released by NIAA under freedom of information. You'll find 112 pages in the pack, document 14 is the Uluru statement in full and it has 26 pages.

Two songs that sum up the people of Australia. 1st Song by Peter Allan I am Australian. Written in 1980 2nd Song by written in 1987 by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers. Both songs have always hit Australians at their core both sing about how we are all Australians. I have posted both Songs lyrics because they sang about being only one thing above all else “We are Australians” It was this that drew so many people around the world to our shores and to call this great country HOME 1st Song by Peter Allan I've been to cities that never close down From New York to Rio and old London town But no matter how far Or how wide I roam I still call Australia home. I'm always travelin' And I love bein' free So I keep leavin' the sun and the sea But my heart lies waiting over the foam I still call Australia home. All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world Away from their families and friends Ah, but as the world gets older and colder It's good to know where your journey ends. And someday we'll all be together once more When all the ships come back to the shore Then I realize something I've always known I still call Australia home. No matter how far Or how wide I roam I still call Australia home. 2nd Song, Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers. I came from the dream-time From the dusty red-soil plains I am the ancient heart The keeper of the flame I stood upon the rocky shores I watched the tall ships come For forty thousand years I've been The first Australian I came upon the prison ship Bowed down by iron chains I bought the land, endured the lash And waited for the rains I'm a settler, I'm a farmer's wife On a dry and barren run A convict, then a free man I became Australian I'm the daughter of a digger Who sought the mother lode The girl became a woman On the long and dusty road I'm a child of the Depression I saw the good times come I'm a bushie, I'm a battler I am Australian We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We'll share a dream and sing with one voice "I am, you are, we are Australian" I'm a teller of stories I'm a singer of songs I am Albert Namatjira And I paint the ghostly gums I'm Clancy on his horse I'm Ned Kelly on the run I'm the one who waltzed Matilda I am Australian I'm the hot wind from the desert I'm the black soil of the plains I'm the mountains and the valleys I'm the drought and flooding rains I am the rock, I am the sky The rivers when they run The spirit of this great land I am Australian We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We'll share a dream and sing with one voice "I am, you are, we are Australian" We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We'll share a dream and sing with one voice "I am, you are, we are Australian" "I am, you are, we are Australian"
Treating individuals differently is the right thing to do, treating groups of people differently is divisive and always leads to negative consequences...and in this case, it is racism...
Not all biscuits are equal. So sometimes I dunk and other times I shove it straight in my gob. As for the voice, it isn't an equal representation of opportunities to the majority of the Australian mob. As mentioned by some comments, the full Uluru statement was written by radicals that have one interest and that being, they should be treated differently to the rest of Australia.
Straight off the bat, the assumption is that my position is wrong because I'm just not thinking the way you would like me to. This is the hallmark of idealogical enthrallment. The fact that you wish to hold both sides of the argument on my behalf, is ironically the very point of patronisation from which you yourself claim immunity by virtue of accusing others of it first. Perhaps my disagreement stems from a more sophisticated grounding than simply an imaginary one that you have constructed to furnish your argument. Clarity of conviction by will of authority is always the poorer substitute in comparison to a resolution by merit of reasoned measure. It is for this particular facet of the proposal I find weakness and vulnerability inherent in the structure. I do not trust that the idea, its political vehicle or its destination are robust nor secure enough to stand with equal footing next to a nations constitution.
Simply write NO. It's RACIST and DIVISIVE. If in doubt look at what's happening in Canada New Zealand and what they tried to do in Western Australia and now Redlands Brisbane all of these allows us to preview what the voice is about. It goes against the Anti Discrimination Act so that raises the LEGALITY of the voice. NO NO NO HELL NO
Not racist (we are all members of one race - the human race). Only as divisive as a Grand Final - day after the Referendum it will be like there was no disagreement Not illegal.
Not so keen on that shirt, Wes. Would you call that "salmon" coloured? And I'm not keen on Gingernut Biscuits. Excuse me. Hey you! Yes! You out there somewhere? Would you exchange your constitutional citizenship equality for being an Australian citizen just so you could get a “YES 23” T-SHIRT? A true blue Aussie would never do that and nor would a 🐨 Koala Bear or a Kangaroo 🦘. 🇦🇺💯%
Even if you want to vote yea. The idea that you can’t remove the voice shouldn’t be seen as a good thing but a worrying thing. Every previous federal aboriginal organisation was abolished for either not achieving outcomes or even fell into receivership. You WANT to be able to get rid of ineffective bureaucracy. The idea that the voice is the perfect solution and will deliver outcomes where previous attempts failed is something of a faith argument in the YES campaign. Not one substantiated by evidence or past examples. In short enshrining a voice may end up being worse for aboriginals and for far longer.
~ The Voice members can be replaced if they are not effective. They can also be investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Commission, if needed. ~ The Voice cannot "fall into receivership" as it will NOT manage money or deliver any services. ~ Nobody has ever said that the Voice will be "the perfect solution" but if we keep doing what we have been doing for the past 56 years NOTHING will ever change. ~ There are several examples (Aboriginal Medical Services, Dhupuma Barker School, Indigenous Rangers) in the Yes pamphlet where listening to A&TSI peoples has seen improvements. (I note the No Pamphlet cannot produce a single fact supporting any of its arguments)
Taxpayers may be forced to pay “reparations” to Indigenous Australians for “past, present and future criminal acts” under a proposed treaty, with suggestions that “a fixed percentage” of GDP be handed over through “rates, land tax and royalties”, documents released under freedom of information reveal. Participants in the Hobart dialogue stated that a treaty “must include” land and sea rights, “a fixed percentage of gross nation [sic] product” through “rates/land tax/royalties” and “Aboriginal control”. A number of participants said the Voice to Parliament must be “better than ATSIC”, the scandal-plagued Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission which was abolished by the government in 2005. “We lost ATSIC at the stroke of a pen,” one Brisbane dialogue participant said. “Would you abolish Westpac Bank if two or three of its directors were not doing the right thing? I don’t think so.” ATSIC allowed them to access cash payments that they didn`t have to account for. The document outlines a number of radical proposals such as “job quotas” with a “minimum 10 per cent appointments” of First Nations people for roles including judges, magistrates, Australian Defence Force officers and state and federal police, among others. It also suggests “no entry tests” or university fees, first preference for all public housing, and “all beaches and national parks to be property of the relevant tribe” with “non-First Nations people to be charged” for their use.
We are ONLY voting for Constitutional recognition and an ADVISORY body, called the Voice. We are NOT voting for any of the things you have listed here. This is called fearmongering.
Patronising is a moot argument and a trap. Regardless of whether or not it is patronising, the important question is whether or not a majority YES or NO vote will be good for Australia. I will be voting NO because I believe a YES vote will damage our great country. Take your heart out of your decision. Think for the country first not for your heart. Yes I dunk 😊
this voice may seem unfair to non original peoples, yet we do need help to form our own big companies, factories, banks, sports teams, medical research, scientific studies of our selves,we do need help to get some multi billion dollar original peoples to,all the big money making schemes are run by non original peoples, and yeah its true we dont need help on a micro level but we do need help like all the settlars got free land, resources, money to start their big companies way back, they all had a great hed start over us blk fellas and now we need that great hedstart now that was denied us for over 200 years
My parents are dunkers, I am not lol. I like a Big Mug of sweet Campfire Brew, my latest favourite after I went off Dilmah due to the tannens being too bitter. Much of this Voice carry on is to permanently establish the activist lead Aboriginal industry. As someone who's paid to hear Jacinta Price and Warren Mundine speak the truth, having visited remote communities I don't see any good coming out of the Voice. The goal is not to fix disadvantage but to perpetuate it so as to grow the industry for a select few. I'm a firm NO voter.
Why would I be patronising by voting yes, which I will do, I have family and great mates who are indigenous many are voting no, many are voting yes..John Howard wanted this many years ago, many great Australians thought the day would never come and have passed on, my belief, and with the utmost respect, I wish we had this happen under a liberal government because our adjustment for change would have probably been smoother, having said this do you not believe that the indigenous mob which is so multi culturally diverse now should not be recognised within the confines of the constitution, me, I , us , constitute, the benefits will negate any so called racial, some say apartheid like effects..I want recognition for our first people , not through bloody pity or patronage..for me it's from love

The focus should be on the money and what happends to it. And most importantly of all the children should be the focus.
All this voice does is put focus on the ultra rich indigenous Australians in Canberra and I'd never vote for that in a million years.
I'm fine with however anybody votes, but I want them to know 'why' they are voting that way.
😂CONstitution, nothing but a CON against my peoples
I am definitely a dunker! Thanks for the thoughtful videos.
There are some that have black tea with a slice of lemon?!
Indeed, a slice of lemon would be nice, or even a few blades of lemon grass.@@WesleyAird
Great channel. Well done. Wesley.
Thank you.
Saying yes to something before you have read it (the 26 pages) is uneducated madness, which pretty well sums up the yes voters 🤨
Really enjoying your content, feels all inclusive ❤
I have indigenous people around me. We all get on there is no problems and they seem to be doing well. I will be voting no.
And I love ginger bread cookies but I didn’t know there were other recipes. You can do a greta and simple desert roll with them just with some wiped cream.
I was surprised when I checked the wrapping on my packet of Ginger Nut biscuits and noticed that it actually referred to Queensland. And I thought that odd for a national product.
The post video interaction , love it.
I am so grateful to have found your channel, grateful for your thoughtful insights, am now a subscriber, and hoping you will soon have millions more subscribers ❤
My favourite biscuit and yes I dunk that is why gingernut biscuits are great they don't just turn to a mess in my coffee.
I don't drunk! Thank you for another informative tutorial. My main reason for thinking I should vote no, is I perceive this to be divisive racially. If I voted yes, I would be patronising.
dunk?
Well made video
'In Full'
Watching that crap show would turn any one off. Crabb woman is a suck up.
Linda Burney is far from likeable.
I met the person who invented the TIM TAM now passed. Dunking is the only way to go.
Winner of the 1958 Kentucky Derby!
Food for thought.
Very true
No!!
The yes voice is to divide Australia we migrates will vote NO!!!!
Yes mate... I dunk and I love ginger biscuits. Enjoy your comments too.
I am doing the right thing and voting NO
wish you were a politician !!!!!
SY no and no and keep your home!
Yes I dunk..😀
The article on gingernuts has shocked me more than I expected! A commercial company imposing divisions in a hidden way according to which state you live in!
Though I'm kinda proud to be a NSW tough hard gingernut - which is why you have to dunk them because you could break a tooth otherwise.
I'm going to have to try them all though.
Ginger nuts are the only truly dunkable biscuit. 🤤
Agreed
What about scotch fingers?
@@BigGen222 my husband would agree with you. He dunks his scotch fingers, I dunk my ginger nuts. Haha.
Two songs that sum up the people of Australia.
1st Song by Peter Allan I am Australian. Written in 1980
2nd Song by written in 1987 by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers.
Both songs have always hit Australians at their core both sing about how we are all Australians.
I have posted both Songs lyrics because they sang about being only one thing above all else “We are Australians”
It was this that drew so many people around the world to our shores and to call this great country HOME
1st Song by Peter Allan
I've been to cities that never close down
From New York to Rio and old London town
But no matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.
I'm always travelin'
And I love bein' free
So I keep leavin' the sun and the sea
But my heart lies waiting over the foam
I still call Australia home.
All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world
Away from their families and friends
Ah, but as the world gets older and colder
It's good to know where your journey ends.
And someday we'll all be together once more
When all the ships come back to the shore
Then I realize something I've always known
I still call Australia home.
No matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.
2nd Song, Bruce Woodley of the Seekers and Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers.
I came from the dream-time
From the dusty red-soil plains
I am the ancient heart
The keeper of the flame
I stood upon the rocky shores
I watched the tall ships come
For forty thousand years I've been
The first Australian
I came upon the prison ship
Bowed down by iron chains
I bought the land, endured the lash
And waited for the rains
I'm a settler, I'm a farmer's wife
On a dry and barren run
A convict, then a free man
I became Australian
I'm the daughter of a digger
Who sought the mother lode
The girl became a woman
On the long and dusty road
I'm a child of the Depression
I saw the good times come
I'm a bushie, I'm a battler
I am Australian
We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We'll share a dream and sing with one voice
"I am, you are, we are Australian"
I'm a teller of stories
I'm a singer of songs
I am Albert Namatjira
And I paint the ghostly gums
I'm Clancy on his horse
I'm Ned Kelly on the run
I'm the one who waltzed Matilda
I am Australian
I'm the hot wind from the desert
I'm the black soil of the plains
I'm the mountains and the valleys
I'm the drought and flooding rains
I am the rock, I am the sky
The rivers when they run
The spirit of this great land
I am Australian
We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We'll share a dream and sing with one voice
"I am, you are, we are Australian"
We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We'll share a dream and sing with one voice
"I am, you are, we are Australian"
"I am, you are, we are Australian"
The undertones are amazing
Mate. I like the way you think
People that vote yes should be sent to Kerobokan for processing.
😊
Treating individuals differently is the right thing to do, treating groups of people differently is divisive and always leads to negative consequences...and in this case, it is racism...
Yes, I do dunk 😁
Very good
Not all biscuits are equal.
Yes, I dunk and I also have a fabulously delicious recipe to make myself !!
If anything it is racist to vote yes. Vote no and save Australia from albos racist voice.
NO NO NO
i dunked as a kid, but haven't for 30+ years now.
Patronizing to have to vote at all on a dead horse.
I a No voter because I want all people to be treated equally.
Yes.
Voting No
Harold Holt was probably disappeared by the WEF because of his efforts
😊 love gingernuts! And I dunk them!
?
Simply write NO. It's RACIST and DIVISIVE. If in doubt look at what's happening in Canada New Zealand and what they tried to do in Western Australia and now Redlands Brisbane all of these allows us to preview what the voice is about. It goes against the Anti Discrimination Act so that raises the LEGALITY of the voice. NO NO NO HELL NO
Not racist (we are all members of one race - the human race).
Only as divisive as a Grand Final - day after the Referendum it will be like there was no disagreement
Not illegal.
I dunk and will vote no.
Not so keen on that shirt, Wes. Would you call that "salmon" coloured? And I'm not keen on Gingernut Biscuits. Otherwise your latest video was really informative, unbiased, fact based and desperately needed at this critical time so the rest of us can make the proper decision on October 14. I look forward to your next posting.
I don't have a good explanation, but the colour is 'fiesta'. Go figure.
Excuse me. Hey you!
I dunk.
How will a Yes vote damage our country?
A “Yes” vote, is a vote for the soft bigotry of low expectations.
I am still on the fence about this.
Not me. A lot of indigenous people I know will be voting NO. This looks like a power grab by elitist wannabes.
Weeks to go. Plenty of time to research and talk it through.
Im voting yes because i think indigenous people should have a voice in parliament
this voice may seem unfair to non original peoples, yet we do need help to form our own big companies, factories, banks, sports teams, medical research, scientific studies of our selves,we do need help to get some multi billion dollar original peoples to,all the big money making schemes are run by non original peoples, and yeah its true we dont need help on a micro level but we do need help like all the settlars got free land, resources, money to start their big companies way back, they all had a great hed start over us blk fellas and now we need that great hedstart now that was denied us for over 200 years
My parents are dunkers, I am not lol.
Vote No for equality. Vote yes for unfair treatment.
IS IT PATRONISING TO ASK ME TO CHANGE MY FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMEMNT I LET YOU INTO IN 1967
Why would I be patronising by voting yes, which I will do, I have family and great mates who are indigenous many are voting no, many are voting yes..John Howard wanted this many years ago, many great Australians thought the day would never come and have passed on, my belief, and with the utmost respect, I wish we had this happen under a liberal government because our adjustment for change would have probably been smoother, having said this do you not believe that the indigenous mob which is so multi culturally diverse now should not be recognised within the confines of the constitution, me, I , us , constitute, the benefits will negate any so called racial, some say apartheid like effects..I want recognition for our first people , not through bloody pity or patronage..for me it's from love
