Western Colorado is awesome! The drive through Colorado on highway 50 between Cañon City and Montrose is incredible too! Thanks for sharing your adventures!
@@AdventureEndeavor I only mentioned that because I'm traveling through Colo vicariously through you guys this month! Hopefully I can get up there next summer! Thanks for letting us in on the fun and beauty!
Telluride and crested Butte and Buena Vista these towns are much better than the towns that you claim as the best in Colorado I lived in Grand junction Colorado!!
We love Ouray, the mountain “Landrover trails” and Colorado mountains in general! This is the first of your videos I watch, you guys are so smooth and down to earth. I’m old enough to be your grandfather but I get your youthful exuberance, great job!
Colorado is a great state for camping! Our son lives in Aurora, so we go out there every year now and visit different places. Though we spent some time at Mesa Verde,we missed out on Durango due to Covid. We'll need to go back. The Million Dollar Highway is another trip we need to do. We'll be at Great Sand Dunes at the end of September this year as part of a 47 day trip we have planned.
I may have watched this two years ago but it popped up again today so had to check it out again. What a great recap and we have visited all these towns this summer and love them too. Great video you guys
We just got back yesterday from our Colorado trip..we never spend time in CO but this time we focused on it. We went from the south, Chama NM to Pagosa,Alamosa, Salida, Leadville,Dillon, Estes park,Georgetown, Gunnison, Montrose, Ouray, durango and out. Our favorite spots were pagosa, Blackhawk, Georgetown.
Durango is my favorite in CO as well. So want to move there. My teen sons loved it as well. Lots to do. We went whitewater rafting on Animas River, took the scenic train up to Silverton which was awesome, went to the Bar D Chuckwagon show/dinner, camped just barely outside of town in national forest etc etc. We got some great food in Durango and the best coffee on the trip.
My sister and I stayed at the Purgatory Ski Lodge in late September (off season) in 2016 on an 8 day vacation. I think the mountains across from the lodge are 14k...very nice. We also rode the Durango Silverton narrow gage railroad into Silverton. The day of the ride the skis were a beautiful blue and the sun made the yellow aspens that much prettier against the sky and mountains. It snowed the night before we left Durango headed for Denver. The snow covered mountains stood majestic against the early morning sky. We traveled on the 550 highway so having just a little snow on the road as opposed to a lot of snow was a good thing in my opinion.
Great trip! I love the little town of Fairplay myself. Small. Great little shops and bars, even a distillery. And wow...Thee Pits Again used to be near me in Glendale, AZ. I never knew they relocated- Guy reviewed them here in AZ.
Well, check this out. Most residents in Colorado are so ILLETIRATE to Who ACTUALLY owns 90% of the Land within the state boundaries of Colorado. We stayed 3 days in Durango at the SATTER hotel. The real special treat was the Louis Lamore room which overlooks main street. It was a perfect room with a perfect view.
Great Vid! Love Southwest CO! Been there numerous times on Street Bikes and Dirt Bikes. Done all the Passes on my Dual Sport Bike many times and it never gets old! If you guys get back there ya gotta see Telluride, Lake City, Delores, and Crested Butte! BTW I Love seeing both of your Facial Expressions! Always puts a Big Smile on My Face!!!
I love that you love my home state! Steamboat and Ouray are my 2 favorite towns to visit but I haven't been to Pagosa yet. We are booked there this fall tho.
Neglected to mention that you can take the Narrow Gauge halfway up to Silverton, get off, and pack back to Paonia. Also see The Royal Gorge (not King Henry VIII), Grand Lake, the headwaters of the Colorado at Lulu City and Granby (location of what I call “ the killdozer incident”). RMNP REQUIRES a reservation to get in during prime hours.
Pretty good first time loop around Colorado, but there is SO SO SO much more to see. Come back n see central Colorado....Buena Vista, Aspen, Salida, etc
@@AdventureEndeavor you spent a lot of time driving some ugly desolate stretches…. Denver to canon city and montrose to I70. Not Colorado at its best, but u made to some cool destinations. I love Silverton
We love that part of Colorado (South). We fly into Alburquerque, NM and drive up to Pagosa Springs--- it's shaves off a couple of hours compared to Denver. I won't drive North on the Million Dollar Highway between Silverton and Ouray. It's too stressful and scary. I'll drive it going South, as we "hug" the mountain tho. Never bean to Steamboat. We also like Frisco/Breckenridge area (closer to Denver/ West-- a couple of hours). We plan to check out Colordado Springs next trip. Love your video! Makes me want to go to Colorado now.... 🙂
Uncompaghre: un-come-paw-gray. Not exactly dictionary spelling, but that's how you would pronounce Uncompaghre. It's the name of a national forest in Montrose, Colorado (about 40 miles north of Ouray. Good job pronouncing Ouray though, a lot of people get it wrong.

Moved to Colorado a couple years ago and have been all over the state except the southwest portion. Been thinking about where to stay where im down there and durango seems like the perfect hub to stay at for a few days while I explore the area.
I would pass on Durango. It's expensive compared to Cortez, and the dog park is built on the old Uranium smelter site. Lake Nighthorse is placed where the old smelter put all of it's radioactive rock slag. A honest to god mountain of it! Some of the older homes are radioactive as well, because before every one knew how dangerous it was the Smelter offered these radioactive slabs of rock as free building material. It was cheaper for the company than hauling it off themselves. Source: Pinkerton Springs is named after my grand mothers grand father. I moved to Montezuma County as soon as I could. Definatly visit but not many who live there know it's past.
Born and raised in Colorado from Pueblo Which is popular for green chili and state fair. Now living near Glenwood springs very popular for its Hot Springs Pool and Doc Hollidays grave hike. In Rifle Colorado we have Rifle falls which becomes the Ice Caves during winter
I appreciate your insights into the towns; however, the Colorado I visited in the ‘70s and would like to see again wouldn’t be friendly to RVs. Colorado is awesome for tent camping and hiking in July and August. Of course, things have changed a lot, I’m sure. My favorite campground was Collegiate Peaks campground in the NF near Leadville. We did a little of the touristy stuff and I really enjoyed the Durango-Silverton RR. But realize that when there are more restaurants per capita than SF, the tourists are the ones who keep them going. I just wanted to give an alternative take. Again, thanks for the video.

I have been to Colorado every summer since 2016. I live in Florida. You didn't include Leadville? Historic mining town at 10,150ft elevation, near the center of the state. Colorado's highest mountains there. 550 Million Dollar Highway southbound from Ouray is a blast. Near vertical drop offs into the canyon with no guardrails first couple miles. No distracted driving on this road! Crested Butte is another cool mountain town worth visiting. Salida on the Arkansas River. I highly recommend Boat House Cantina. One of my favorite restaurants in CO.
Thank you, we are fulltime so we took about a month and a half to tour the area. You can do this loop faster if you want, a month would be solid. Thanks for watching.

You keep misusing the term "a ton". You missuse that term many times in your vids. Haven't you ever heard somebody use or missuse a certain word or term so often that you get sick of hearing it so much that you tried to avoid being around them or hearing them! I'm sure that other people feel the same way. How about using the term "a lot" or "lots" more often instead of misusing the term for a specific amount of weight! Lots of people are afraid of leaving constructive comments. In a big survey they found out only one out of every twenty-seven people that did not like something ever said anything. So multiply each negative or constructive comment by 27. I worked in construction operating heavy equipment most of my life and it is amazing how many so-called professional heavy equipment operators don't know what the equipment is called that they operate. They call almost every piece of equipment by the wrong name, or by the wrong type, or by the wrong manufacturer excetera. It gets extremely frustrating and irritating! So far I like some of your travel videos. I lived in a travel trailer for several years when I was younger and I want to return to that.
@@AdventureEndeavor Not saying you are the ones from outta state visitors that are rude and trash this state out. We have so many that do.
Ah,.... thanks?
Hard to take a guy with his cap on backwards seriously.
Hahah apparently 15000 people do.... Thanks for watching.

@@AdventureEndeavor Not saying you are the ones from outta state visitors that are rude and trash this state out. We have so many that do. That it has put a sour taste in our mouth when it happens over and over. Hope you can pass that on to others. We respect what a beautiful place we live on. Sincerely smiles..
