It’s a team effort! I develop the recipes, write the books/blog, photograph, do the cinematography, editing, sound editing, and operate our social channels (among other backend things). My mom designs the set and stages crafts, illustrates our books and products. If there is a more intricate craft, she painted it. My dad built out the set and farm structures.
This is life goals 🙌 im currently on medical leave for cancer scare, hysterectomy is in two weeks and the pain isndriving me to tears, but this video helped, it is very relaxing and peaceful to be in your workd for a little bit. It's very nice! One of my favorite calm cooking channels (no talking no music) started piping in mouth chewing and crunching noises when they "taste" the food and it's the worst. And they're not even the real noises (not that I'd like those either) but they're clearly fake. Like why.
My guy friend feeds all the birds and critters around his house. Some of them come right in the door now. Birds chipmunks. The birds wait outside at times just staring at the door. I think they are spoiled now. 😂

Those vatrushka buns look amazing. Of course, I had never heard of them, so I had to google. They're eastern European and a very popular treat in Ukraine. They look like a variation of Czech kolaches, which are (surprisingly) popular in Texas of all places. 😅
they’re a staple pastry in Russia, too. Probably a lot of CIS countries, too - they used to be (maybe still are) a part of the standard school lunch menu
That's what I was going to say, kolaches with a custard & fruit filling is all. Blueberries make me ill, I always love a 🍍 raspberries (my favorite) or 🍒 cherry filling. My Bohemian step grandmother made the traditional prune or poppy seed filling. Yuk, as always though who made those fillings a tradition, must of had a constipation issue. Besides, they taste horrible.
Those deviled eggs looked scrumptious. I'm definitely trying out all the little tricks you showed us - loved the presentation. Sweet kitties and healthy chickens too. It's always good to help out the wildlife, I don't 'feed' them but I grow a long row of elderberries and all sorts of things they can munch on year-round in our climate. Providing a water source in the heat of summer and drought is important here so they can cool off, bathe and drink. There is a line at their favorite birdbath - I guess that means I need another one. Love your 'fantasy' kitchen.

I baked the Vatruska yesterday and let me tell you all.... that was FIRE !!! Oh my god I shared them with my neighbours and flatmate and they completely fell in love with it ! I'm definitely making them again for our next brunch.
I can make some pretty complicated meals but making bread still scares me! I think it’s working with yeast that does it. Are you an experienced baker or can a newbie like me make a decent Vatruska?

Love the cats and chickens (maye you could get a couple of ducks also, they're a blast!) I've got some home canned blueberries just waiting for a good recipe! What a blessing to be able to use your beautiful antiques! I use mine also! Many of them belonged to my Grandmother, it feels like I'm a kid again helping her cook in her kitchen when I use them. I'm over 60 so you can imagine how old they are.

Just a little tip I learned from my mom! If you want to break the eggshells without losing an egg, it's a good idea to break them all in the same pan with a little bit of cold water, swirling the eggs around in the pot so that all sides of the eggs are being cracked on every side (i recommend at least 2-3 eggs in the pot and not a whole bunch of them) and then use a spoon to carefully wedge it between the shell and egg! Cold water stops the cooking process but also hardens the outer layer of the egg and the spoon is more nimble than a human finger. I usually go for the spot in the egg where the air bubble formed and I carefully wedge the spoon through there! I hope this helps!
