      I mean they are definitely using quality materials, but the technique is really kind of questionable. It will look great for a while, but they will be long gone with check in hand by the time the owner notices trouble with the floor I guess 🤷‍♂️.

Still no cavity wall, no insulation and dpc.. brick's and blocks is really soft. It just won't last. I build my home in Vietnam with cavity wall and in summer is cool, in winter is warm.

    I use to set tile, marble, and granite for many years and I was surprised they're not using wood to help level the tiles. The new flooring looks awesome!

    • @Xylume
      @Xylume 2 года назад

      @Ricky Anthony You take a 2x4 piece of wood, cut it so it isn't too long. You place the wood over several rows of tiles while pressing down to even out the thin-set mortar so that they're all at an even level together.

      @@davidf2118 well, the quality of the tiles is everything. Cheap tiles are different sizes and not plane. We do it differently First make the floor absolutely plane, then you after this you lay the tiles. We use those clamps to ensure that the tiles are layed plane as well. spacers are good practice if the tiles are uniform. Yes a thick adhesive makes it easyer.

      @@davidf2118 Yeah it is a problem, I usually makes a more smoth adhesive by adding some more water. So it is easyer to work with it.

      @@thomasbuhrkall969 id imagine how much you get paid to work alone would pay for several workers in other countries. My Grandad was a carpenter in the Orkney Islands and his team would renovate whole buildings for people. There would be a team of 4-7 and they all had their individual jobs and smashed out buildings together. Less tasks to focus on, quicker work, time to do more jobs.
      Similar situation here??

    • @thomasbuhrkall969
      @thomasbuhrkall969 2 года назад

      @@blacky1987 A Welfare state as Denmark; where I am from; comes with a prize. Demands on insurances, vax, tax, etc. That means 50% ontop of your salery goes to insurances, 12% vacations, pensions. So the cost of running a company alone are twice the price of your salery+ the cost price of a van and diesel. + the cost of a auditor.
      So if you work alone offcourse you can earn a lot. But you are also cheating yourself for the benefits. You really have to take 2.5 times of your salery as your prize to equalize the benefits.
      In some countries the salery are really high, you can buy lots for, but all in all you dont get the "benefits". It will be hard to compare. I know where you can earn alot, dont have much vacations either, nor benefits and insurances.
