I'm pretty sure that they are going to increase the hight of the overworld with the next update, and that will be a pretty good opportunity to do the same with the nether.
7:17 actually, if you had a world on legacy console Edition where you had build something on the nether ceiling and would convert it to break, it would be deleted. You used to be able to properly build things on top of the nether ceiling on legacy console, but unfortunately that got change. Now on legacy console Edition there are barrier on top of the nether everywhere and if you throw an ender pearl on to the nether ceiling, it just won't teleport you. So some people might still have builds in legacy console that would get deleted when converting to bedrock.
Building on top of the nether roof in the last version of legacy console edition (ps4, and not bedrock edition) is possible, even with the barriers. I play on a world that stayed dedicated to not updating to bedrock edition, due to too many bugs and too many things broken. But there definitely is ways to build, move, and do other cool things. Let me know if you're further interested!
I know. I have a world, where I did that when it was possible to properly do things on the nether roof and there I destroyed the bedrock in the ceiling using the dragon egg glitch and made a bug hole. I think, I could still break more bedrock, by just pushing all of the blocks I need using pistons.

I always thought that bedrock edition is basically the 'intended' version of minecraft. They left TNT duping in Java because Java edition is unable to push dispensers, furnaces, chests...etc. In bedrock you can build some crazy things that aren't possible in Java pushing dispensers. Just look at this that shoots 3 tnt upward to clear out the nether for netherite. ruclips.net/video/6dVdFaAXGMc/видео.html Java actually wants moveable entities blocks but they haven't done it yet. If they change that like bedrock they would do away with tnt duping.
@@kwft9504 you know by far bedrock has way more effiecient/succesful duping methods u can literally dupe a full chest of diamond blocks in a second. And java can dupe one tnt or two per second
bedrock is more than mobile, its also console which is a extremely large percentage of players that are getting a cooler, but harder, and less good version. basically java is better in basically every way, bedrock only has these fun details like leaves turning white in snow, while java has little details like no instant death, being able to start the game, having extremely easy bosses, trapdoor crawling which leads to bedrock breaking, and also building on the nether roof which is a huge advantage.
The Legacy edition is an interesting case with this one. If I remember correctly, it was possible for a while to build above the Nether roof unimpeded until a few updates slowly restricted the ability to do so further and further. It is still possible to get above the Nether roof in Legacy, but it is nearly impossible to move, and blocks cannot be broken outside the use of explosives.
I had an experience when I was younger where i thought that i could better the realm i was playing on at the time, by making ice highways on the nether roof,( i play on bedrock edition btw) and so after a bit I figured out how to glitch myself through the bedrock layer, I did and the sheer disappointment I felt when it gave me the text in chat that I couldn't build up there was so bad, and as a plus, I was stuck up there without any way to get back, I ended up finding out that there is a chance for endermen spawning up there so I just ended up getting killed by one. As a bedrock player myself I believe 100% that java is better and that parity should mean all features regardless of initial intentions
Ive been playing bedrock for about 5 years now and it would take a while for me to get good at using a computer so they should just add everything java has to bedrock in a mass update
I wish I did more research on this before going to the nether roof on my bedrock edition world. Honestly, I find bedrock edition really is just a bad version as I have never found anything good with the game and it pisses me off that to play it I have to fight with it. I have ended up deleting a ton of worlds because of all the annoying things with bedrock. Like the fact that mobs lag really bad on single player, and that when your in a loading screen, you can still die. All of the little and weird things like that has just made me hate minecraft bedrock
Even on my ps4 when i break a block and it dosent do the animation and i place a block and the block i placed dissapears and im on singleplayer at the lowest rendar distance

Imo Having a larger build height on bedrock edition would allows us to make so many advanced and efficient farms that we simply can not do on bedrock edition currently. Ex: Gold farms, ghast farms and any farm that is better with more mobs. Another reason is that clearing out farms for spawns in the regular nether is a heck of a task and very annoying, so having a flat space would just be helpful, convenient and less time consuming.

You don't get Achievements on Java; you get Advancements, which follow a completely different system, including being unique to each world. In fact, the crafting book recipes are essentially hidden advancements on Java Edition. Hopefully Bedrock will get advancements at some point.
simple answer: because developers opinion about what mechanics players find fun and useful and how they want to play differ greatly from the actual player base and rather than listen to the community and please them, they rather proceed and try to enforce their view of how a game is played onto the players. In some instances this is a good thing. In cloning a game to an other plattform or an open game that has lots of creativity involved it generaly isn't.

Hello Mr nex Since you told us to suggest a topic, I suggest that u talk about flying machines in minecraft, how do they work, linking them to dispensers (in case I wanna tnt flying machine) and some models cuz they are incomprehensible to many minecrafters.
I remember playing on ps3/ps4 back in the day you could actually build and travel on the roof. I'll never forget the day the patch came through and made it to where you couldn't even move once up there, nevertheless build anything. Me and a buddy had a gold/xp farm and had broken bedrock and everything. We could only climb the ladder and look at the pillar going up to build height where our farm was. Such a saddening day. We didnt play as much after that. Really felt like Mojang alienated us from PC players. That's when I bought a pc and started playing java mc.
@TerrariaCrafter 4382 there's a lot of things I wish they would bring to bedrock, but as much as I like Java redstone, that's not one of them. Bedrock's redstone is far more different when you dig a bit deeper, and just "copying it over" would be very very difficult. Plus there's so many things that bedrock offers that isn't in Java. And no I'm not referring to movable block entities because that's been confirmed to be coming to Java eventually. That being said there are still some features that I'm frustrated are not in bedrock (specifically target blocks actually being opaque)
“Removing it would be more problematic that leaving it” Mojang certainly don’t apply this logic to bedrock though eh. I genuinely believe that they make bedrock intentionally bad so that more people convert to java.
The players that would be upset at the updates breaking their world is a bad reason to not "fix it". Those players don't update to any new update without backing up their world first, and they don't update if it would break the parts of their world they care about most. It's pretty rare that people even update without starting a whole new world anyway as far as I can tell. People tend to stick to the same version for as long as they play in the world.

99% of the so called changes for the better by the developers suck, if you like to play survival but build big structures. 1. farms are less efficient 2. mob drop rates are lower 3. not giving options to see chunk boarders or other debug infos like lightlevel sucks, especially if you have lots of issues stemming from chunkboarders with contraptions. It is frustrating and gets me to a point of not playing the game and switching back to java as soon as my finances allow me to buy a pc I want to be able to enjoy, what I like in minecraft, building big structures in survival and therefore have a relaxing experience. As a Student I have studying and then afterwards working a sidejob to do, so only a small ammount of time to play the game. In java, automation and large scale farming is possible, to an extent which in bedrock atm it isn't. Meaning in Java I can grind a few weeks (playing a few hours a week) and invest into automated farms, afk for a night or two and then focus on building. In bedrock, atm it is not even really possible to fully automate treefarming... tnt only drops 20?% of the blocks, is not dupeable (ok, cheaty) and the other options, whiters and ghasts are either scary or dangerous and not that simple to use, whiters also beeing able to glitch out of cages or requiring the optaining of bedrock (cheaty), also the fact that bonemeal gets wasted when growth doesn't occure, means you need a huge supply, which again with the verry low drop rates of mobdrops, even with looting, compared to java leads to a frustrating experience of getting nothing done in the time aviable to play. Also, that hoppers have a chance of randomness is gamebreaking, since it basically means that either contraptions need unnecessary redstone, thus creating more lag than needed or just accepting that filters have a chance to break and or have only a 90% reliability... All in all: Why bother automating things if the rewards are almost as low as just running arround killing mobs at random and chopping trees at random and therefore, why bother playing at all, if I can't get to a point where I can focus on the part of the game I love?
You could consider building on the nether roof a feature for creative mode because bedrock is breakable in creative and people might want to build big things in the nether in creative. I think it's important to remember that the tech community is a much smaller part of the Bedrock target audience than the Java audience. The tech community also doesn't generate as much profit; it's the vast numbers of little kids buying the game and going on to buy Marketplace content, that pays for our free updates. So you have to consider the cost/benefit analysis: How would Mojang benefit from giving us the Nether roof? It would generate good will and please a small segment of the community, but add little to profits, and most players would never use the feature at all. What would it cost them? Developer hours, more testing work, possibly problems cramming more into those little kids' hand-me-down devices until they can't run the game any more. And those kids are where the profit starts, so losing them would be pretty bad. One other thing: Be careful what you ask for. If they ever achieved complete parity, there would be no reason to continue supporting Java Edition.
They used to have the ability to build on the roof in bedrock, but for reasons you stated, when they realized this bug they had nothing to lose so they deleted it. On Java, however, they kept it so they wouldn’t lose money

I’m angry they haven’t added a 256 build limit.

Yeah tnt duper’s are op but you know typical mojang removes very useful stuff like that.
Because it's honestly complicate things and also Mircosoft accounts won't work well, I guess they can make it like how people join the beta progam
thats pretty unfair considering there's alot of people who plays on mobile that also wants to make some sick buildings on the nether roof.
bedrock is more than mobile, its also console which is a extremely large percentage of players that are getting a cooler, but harder, and less good version. basically java is better in basically every way, bedrock only has these fun details like leaves turning white in snow, while java has little details like no instant death, being able to start the game, having extremely easy bosses, trapdoor crawling which leads to bedrock breaking, and also building on the nether roof which is a huge advantage.
so basically, mojang sucks and pays no attention to bedrock, they treat java like their child, and bedrock like ants.
That's interesting. I never played on console myself so that's definitely good to know.
Console Redstone wasn't really the same as java, either.

Another reason is that clearing out farms for spawns in the regular nether is a heck of a task and very annoying, so having a flat space would just be helpful, convenient and less time consuming.

Yes I totally agree that increasing the nether build limit should be data drivin
simple answer: because developers opinion about what mechanics players find fun and useful and how they want to play differ greatly from the actual player base and rather than listen to the community and please them, they rather proceed and try to enforce their view of how a game is played onto the players.

No shit my guy. Java is written in Java which can’t be done in a console
99% of the so called changes for the better by the developers suck, if you like to play survival but build big structures.
1. farms are less efficient
2. mob drop rates are lower
3. not giving options to see chunk boarders or other debug infos like lightlevel sucks, especially if you have lots of issues stemming from chunkboarders with contraptions.
It is frustrating and gets me to a point of not playing the game and switching back to java as soon as my finances allow me to buy a pc
I want to be able to enjoy, what I like in minecraft, building big structures in survival and therefore have a relaxing experience.
Well, mojang needs to take a decision on nether roof if you can build or not, and stay the same on both versions of the game.

It makes sense. You shouldn’t be up there. Yet it would be nice to build up there.
U are first
I think it's important to remember that the tech community is a much smaller part of the Bedrock target audience than the Java audience.
I think they should add this but they also need to fix realm lagg and render distance on them! On my realm, it felt really laggy for a while but then i found out that it was all caused by 1 chicken farm that was out of loaded chunks!
I didn't learn about building on the nether roof until it was removed from console.
I'am Stuck i cant build 😢 i grab my Obsidian and my ladder with an Ender Pearl i Go on the Nether i will build Obsidian for a portal and i dont can Switch on Java😭 my 1 jear Hardcore world is over 😢😢
The reason why the nether roof is at y 128 is because before 1.2.1 the build limit was 128 but extended to 256 after 1.2.1
