    I'm at the salon right now and just got finished with the best highlighting job in my small 4 years of doing hair! I watched your videos all morning and I know that is why I did a much better job today. Thank you, I love your work so much!! It really inspired me and gave me a skill and confidence boost. 💜

    This was therapeutic to watch. There's just something relaxing about watching someone foil. This was also very informative. Sometimes I feel like my foils could be neater.

    My biggest problem is my timing! Maybe a video on how to be efficient time wise or how to formulate based on our speed! p.s. I love the board! life saver

    Awesome video! I would love to see a video on how to plan your sections for what the client wants. In the video you say to have a vision for your foil placement so a video on how to do that would be great. And include in the video different weaves. For example how to get more of a natural look where the highlights blend into the natural hair color vs a more defined look where you can really see both the highlights and the natural hair color.

    I absolutely love this series already. I've already learned so so so much from you. The root smudge at the bowl with shades EQ really changed my highlighting game in a great way. I had a client who's roots after highlights looked a little too bold and I did your smudge trick and she loved it! I'm definitely going to invest in Framar brushes and foils :) In the future could you make a video on time saving techniques and tips to help those of us who are a little slow? I love the work I do but I can tell my clients get a little squeamish sitting in the chair for so long. Lastly could you recommend a blow dryer under $100 dollars? The one I got from beauty school recently broke and I desperately need a new one. Sorry for the super long comment lol! Keep up the great work.

    You should do a video on root smudging! I don't understand how it turns out perfectly blended when I see people just slap it on real quick at the bowl? Love your videos!!

    I use the Costco food service foils... they pop up and are already cut. I just fold them lengthwise in half and place it over the edge of a table and it easily rips in half very cleanly. I use those foils and a board. I'm able to do a partial highlight or a face frame and even the nape of my neck myself in between salon visits. My hair is dark (level 4) and I found that using a plain white bleach powder with no blue helps me gauge the level of lift more easily- the blue tint fools me into thinking it lifted enough when it didn't yet. Also, I always tap the roots with a Demi in 7n and 8n with violet additive to erase the stitch marks and ease the grow out process. This allows me to see a professional a couple times a year for a full baby light/balayage touchup. I know these videos are not intended for non-professional DIYers but I wanted to thank you for these videos and everyone who does them bc it allows me to achieve my dream color and maintain it (it's not just about saving $, it's about education, and it's about valuing the work for good colorists). The more clients are educated, the better it can be for the professional.

    Great video! You do such nice, clean work. Your foils look so organized and neat. I'm struggling with slippage and bleeding and I'm going to try your tips. I know you recommended Framar brushes, is the black brush a Framar? Also, I like the suggestion of painting 9NB at the root. I worry about it not blending. Can you do that without a toner on the ends or is it necessary to tone the ends also?

    I just found your channel and I am obsessed with your work! So beautiful. Whats your average timing for doing a full foil or balayage? I feel like the thing I struggle with most is timing. I'm I bit of a perfectionist so I overthink every section. I'm trying to work on my timing so I can fit more clients in, but still do beautiful blondes.

    • @madelinebryant6511
      @madelinebryant6511 6 лет назад

      mimi90921 sometimes with hair being 2+ shades lighter than desired level, you need to fill to give the color molecules something to grab onto. Depending on the situation, most of the time you fill with a warmer tone because of not enough pigment.

    Personally I don't like to flip my foils up and to re tighten them once I place it and get my product on I just fold it up and done and their super tight I feel like the more you flip it and move it the more it's gonna slip... just try it on a couple foils and see what you think also I've been doing hair almost 10 years and I still fold the sides of my foils bc it just insures the sides won't lift up 😊 thanks for this video!

    • @JV-ut5sw
      @JV-ut5sw 7 лет назад +4

      I feel you on flipping the foils, but going underneath and bringing that extra foil lip up towards the scalp does ensure a consistent highlight because all of the product resides within the foil during the swelling/thermal expansion process. I feel that not doing this can cause the exposed portion to dry out from being exposed to the outside air or the product has free dominion to bleed on the client's scalp and/or neighboring sections of hair.

    Love your videos they're always so informative! What advice do you have for someone that's indecisive about going to cosmetology school? I've wanted to for years since like the 8th grade & I'm 20 now but haven't gone due to it being the type of job where your job doesn't typically get insurance/retirement benefits with this profession typically. I'm going to school for something now in the healthcare field. I like it but my mind still goes to cosmetology and wanting a job in the industry. So any advice would be helpful! Thank you!

    • @justjessiiii
      @justjessiiii  7 лет назад +1

      because the purpose of the video was foiling and avoiding tiger stripes, but this client likes a little depth in the root so we root shadow her at the bowl for about 10 minutes and that blends a lot better with highlights then if i were to put it straight on!

    I wanted to say first thing that you are charming, and that your channel contributes a lot to those who like to make changes in hair and has no budget for it.
    What I wanted to ask was: Can I dye my hair after I have made it clear to Blonde whether chemically it has no effect?
    And will I be given a beautiful transition of shades ..?
    I'd love to hear your answer
    Thanks .
