I've always had a sweet spot in my heart for Detroit. It was the first truly big city I visited as a teen (grew up in the Dayton 'burbs'). I spent two great weeks there before my senior year in high school - 59 years ago), at U Detroit. I did the Fisher Theater (Henry Mancini & Detroit Symphony), Cobo Hall (Wayne Fontana & the Detroit Wheels and Herman's Hermits), the lake and a great picnic in Kensington Park, many of the city's neighborhoods with locals I met, saw my first James Bond movies ("Dr. No" and "From Russia with Love") and fell in love myself. I went to MSU for grad school, and met more Detroiters - from the city and Bloomfield Hills and Oak Park. I''ve been a happy Cincinnatian for 50 years, but Detroit is still in my heart. I wish Detroit only the best, now and in the years to come.
Detroit is the most ragged city in the world. Everything is burnt up go to the east side. The whole east side of Detroit is phone rest in peace to Detroit .
4 major sports teams, over 5 corporately owned venues, and countless independently operated restaurants and small businesses (who host events), but there's nothing for you to do?
