Hi, do you maybe know if plants like orchids can grow without something to grow in? like just on the desk as long as you give it water or does it need a substrate?
I use a spray called Vitality Plus and haven't had a Spidermites outbreak since. There's a video on my channel about pest management that details what I use for Spidermites, thrips etc

I rather like the wall until but with shelves you could get creative with how you layer them, maybe add a wall trellis for tetrasperma?
