I messed up the calculation a bit. It's actually a 0.3% chance of figure cancellation. not .0033. My b, I was working remote and suck at math (no printer). Fact remains, the chance of a figure getting cancelled is basically 0.

I'm not concerned. These were clearly cancelled due to extremely low preorder numbers.
Hot Toys needs to do a better job choosing projects, though. We pay NRDs so Hot Toys being comfortable cancelling projects that are up for preorder is concerning.

I’ll be more worried if this happens again, say inside this year or next year. But so far it’s a one off and the figures kind of make sense as far as ones to cancel.

I had to chuckle of course with this weeks' HT news and subsequent wide ranging responses in the premium action figure community to HT's PR. From overreaction by some to simple shrugging off by others with the official heads-up by HT staff. But that's certainly to be expected with passionate fandom.
My direct & sincere compliment to you is for the quality of your timely, professional video to again, this wide ranging fandom community.
Your synopsis of "the event" was spot-on. You then began to systematically
layout, for your fans & community, probable reasons for HT's unprecedented PR move, which is a positive IMO. You then qualified your perspective w/ historical examples within HT and their competitors.
Further impressive to me, you then shared a few personal examples of your own collecting passion & history with your audience, hoping to quell any anxiety a few may have.
You used example & analogy very well to sum up certain unknowns & finalize a fair & accurate accounting (to me) from the outside looking in behind the MFG curtain. You signed off by reminding the figure collecting community at large that hey, it's a wonderfully fun & enjoyable hobby don't forget and great things lay ahead.....
Dude.... was a master class in thorough analysis and effective mass communication my friend. Kudos. 💪

I'm glad they're doing this and focusing on better received figures instead. Better use of resources. This isn't Star Wars The Vintage Collection where even the most obscure characters get a figure. The community complains when a character that received 10 seconds of screen time gets a figure (*coughs* Rex from the Ahsoka series, when we already have a Rex figure that's still available at a discount). Sorry to the folks that were looking forward to these two though.

Great video. I think the statue analogy was great as that was my first thought too. I assumed it was a Prime 1 type of situation where they did not have the demand to make it worth producing. It does make me wonder why these are the straws that broke the camels back in comparison to other low PO figures like Morbius or the 2 Eternals figures

Excellent video Will, i totally agree with you, as Sideshow is restricting pre orders Hot Toys is also calculating and i think they should have done the same long time ago with some figures, that's why when they announce something you know it's not gonna sell well they could made other thing instead, like Terminator or Aliens or other i.p that we are actually waiting the 2.0. But if Hot Toys lacks something is logic. Greetings !!

Im actually surprised that transforming mecha black panther hasnt been cancelled yet. The young Barry getting cancelled is a bit of a surprise though. The movie was mid but definitely a figure rich prospect. Just hope the cancellation doesn't extend to modern batman and supergirl

If you take into account all the “coming soon” items such as 1989 Batcave computers, Mando’s ship, and a bunch others still marked as coming soon on sideshow, they technically end up cancelling more than we know, just at different stages.
I’m trying not to be concerned but I really am!

Although, I understand the cancellation announcement for these two figures. It’s not rocket science or alarming. What I don’t understand is why Hot Toys can’t do the same announcement for past figures like Endgame Time Travel Cap and even as far back as Baze Malbus. I think we can agree no one wanted Time Travel Cap but I think a lot of people wanted Baze but we were left in the dark as to why it was never release.

I did want to complete the whole Flash line, but I definitely get it. I never pre-ordered young barry and was going to pick it up later for less than retail, so it's no sweat off my back lol

If the figures aren’t meeting sales goals then it’s kind of silly to waste time and resources on production. Simple as that really. I don’t necessarily see an issue going forward. The big thing is choosing characters people care about versus announcing whatever.

Are you going to be doing a preview for the new storm trooper and it is it worth 240? I’m a little new to hot toys and this new storm trooper seems to be a bit less then buying backwards
It wouldn't surprise me if The Flash Batfleck Batman and Supergirl get cancelled as well, I think the young Flash looked good as far as accuracy goes but I think the movie was that bad that no one wants it

I missed out by 2 days before it was waitlisted on SS. I PO the young Barry last month on SS and it was already on low stock warning . How does this get cancelled before Super Girl ? LMAS

Some things don't make sense:
I dunno how they can be making super limited exclusive figures all the time now (artisan, chrome thing, WB 100, that weird yellow trooper) and then also suddenly be not selling enough of something to continue production, even weirder when you think of all the other figures that nobody talks about that likely didn't sell but still got released. And didn't Ezra Miller already get canceled!? Couldn't have happened to a better person! Weird about Iron Man though, even if he looked like Picasso threw up on a transformer it's still Iron Man, people hoard that dude.

I seriously want a kraven from the game and dont understand why they bought the license for spider-man 3 but only give us black suit 2.0 no venom or sand man or new goblin 2.0 lame in my opinion
Completely agree. No one gives a damn about this sakaarian Iron man lol. The what if stuff is a small market to begin with. But it goes to show hot toys and sideshow dont want dead stock, and they also very clearly care about the asian market more than north america. Meanwhile, Keco is probably in shambles over all these Bengals trade requests though 👀
