Two-time GRAMMY-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater are back with the latest live installment to their impressive thirty-one-year catalog of releases. Scheduled for release on November 27th, the band is set to unleash their ninth career live album Distant Memories - Live In London. Recorded at their sold-out show at the Apollo Theatre in London, the live release documents the band’s popular world tour in support of their latest critically acclaimed studio album Distance Over Time and the 20-year anniversary of their seminal concept album Metropolis Part 2 - Scenes From A Memory.
“Whether you had a chance to see this tour in person and want to relive what was hopefully an awesome concert experience or enjoying the performance on video for the first time, Distant Memories - Live In London very accurately and very beautifully captures the energy and excitement we all felt together at the Apollo this past February,” explains guitarist John Petrucci.
Distant Memories - Live In London is the band’s first since 2014’s Breaking the Fourth Wall. The new live release will be available in various configurations including digital only, a 3-CD and 2 DVD multibox, a 3-CD and 2 Blu-Ray digipak with slipcase, a limited deluxe 3-CD + 2 Blu-Ray + 2 DVD Artbook and a limited 4-LP and 3-CD box set. The video components will also feature a Behind The Scenes look at the band as they get ready for the shows.

Saw them twice on this tour, Toronto and Biloxi. They were tighter than ever and sounded fantastic.
The first show I saw was in OKC in 1992 and I was at the Score show at RCMH and front row for Gigantour in Tampa. The shows I saw on this tour were better than any other than MSG theater on the TOT tour! These guys are like wine, they get better with age!

I know many people did shit on Astonishing but I really liked it. Would've like to see that album as a live release. Many of the songs here we've already seen many times.
I like it too.. I went to the concert in 2016.. they played the album in its entire..such amazing experience!
It was much better live with all the video elements and production.
It's a different DT but personnally I have no complaints. Its melodies are rich and its story interesting to explore. Love TA !

Different is why the Astonishing is fine with me. It's DOT that's 'oh, I know this song. And this one. And the next one too'.
Stop dying you hair and beards. If you all just let it all out you would look like 5 wise sages who still rock.
That's what I'm saying. John Petrucci could keep the beard and go bald, and he'd look like Kratos. James could look like the Canadian Robert Plant. Jordan would look the same, and Mangini could go back to his salt and pepper look from 2011. Funnily enough, Myung is the only guy who looks exactly the same as he always has, but even his hair has started to naturally turn grey. They could look like the elder gods of prog, instead of the typical metal band appearance.
Finally a good audio mixing, where I can hear the bass drum and the bass lines properly as they deserve. I've missed those since Live at Budokan!

they technically made one song, but they had to divide it into 4 albums (SFAM, Train Of Thought, Six Degrees, Octavarium), because the world wasn't prepared to see it on the full version, Dream Theater's power is really hack, they hacked the reality
@@xibitho wait what? I thought it was just SFAM that was split up in several pieces for an album that was written for FII but didn't make the cut. I know the closer of SFAM, SDOIT and TOT all segue into the intro of the opener of the album following it but Imma need a sauce to believe all content from those albums were written as a single song

They keep missing Mangini's best bits on this. That run during Untethered Angel and in the Fatal Tragedy vid the little solo bit while Jordan was suiting up the keytar. Instead they showed Jordan being handed the keytar ☹☹
Is there an option to have dedicated camera angles on each of them? I would love to see Mike during certain sections and I would also love to see JP during specific solos.

Oh man, I'm nervous to hear the rest of that Untethered Angel chorus. It was rough when I saw them in Peoria, IL. They started the set with that one and A Nightmare to Remember, and it was perhaps a little early in the set for those two. He did sound great following those songs, though. I was pretty pleased.
