And that's the Iceland series done and dusted!! Anyone got any extra money saving tips they'd like to share? And anyone now planning a trip to Iceland?! 🇮🇸
Just watched your series on Iceland.. Well done! Love the no nonsense vids. I am now planning to go there post covid after the jabs. Just waiting to book a flight when it opens.
THIS is one of the BEST travel guides to Iceland I’ve seen yet! I’ve already been twice and this still covered more than I’d thought about personally! Incredible work!
OK, now I´ve visited, too: All is true! :) But 3 more tips: 1) If you like camping and have a camper, it´s probably cheaper to take the ferry and bring your own than renting one in in Iceland. 2) If you camp, get the camping card, it´s the cheapest way to stay there. 3) Don´t think about the cost, it´ll make your stay in Iceland really bad.
We're going to Iceland later in the year and you've already saved us £200. Thank you so much for your vlogs, they're interesting, funny and saving me money, what's not to like 😊❤️
Nice video, only thing I would add is why restrict yourself to just coffee out of a flask? Just make up the hot water then you have the choice of what to do with it, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, instant Porridge or Noodles etc…
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I ran into your blog while looking grocery prices in Iceland, thank you for all these tips! I saw in the comments that you're planning to go to Oslo, if you didn't go yet I can give you some recommendations :) keep on the good work!
Excellent video. Just what we were looking for. We'll be using these useful tips when planning our trip and will check out your entire Iceland series. Keep this up! 👍👍
Hi Chelsea, thank you so much for your series! It really helps a lot. Can you maybe share your planned route with all the attractions you have visited? 0:11 in this video
Hi Chelsea, i'm sorting my own trip currently and have taken your advice on guesthouses over hotels. When it comes to the car hire, would you suggest to extra insurance (expensive Extras) for things like ash damage etc, or am i still good to stick with the standard insurance they provide? Thanks
Is it cheaper to get a car and stay in hotels? Or book a camper and stay and cook in it? I’m planning a trip in this September! Would like to know if you have any thoughts on this :) thank youu!!
Great tips thanks so much! Great video too. I made one similar but not as good when we went to Oslo and realised all the budget Oslo videos spoke about hotels and restaurants and I was like wtf do you people not cook
Heyyyyy - welcome!! No, definitely not though there's been an impact on destinations where Thomas Cook was one of the main carriers - so Turkish resorta for example. But still plenty of ways to get away for less!
600 pounds for 6 nights total?thats crazzy I'm going to check out your other related videos soon- but is there a breakdown list of that amount roughly? or how much each night cost for you for those 6 days?
Chris C We’re off to Thailand in 3 weeks but I have a horrific backlog of videos to edit so you’ll see our first class trip to Madrid next, but then hopefully (finally!) our Scottish road trip from last year!

Hello m'am love from India... 😘😘 so nice of u... U make a vlog soo nicely... Tell me the route from where u have to start the journey by car and where do u submitted that car...??
Main tip is to be careful with drinking. UK drink drive limit is 0.08 Most of Europe (Italy etc) is 0.05 Iceland is only 0.02! A quarter of what the UK limit is, so extremely easy to be over!
Less a cheap thing, more a don’t get screwed: for gas at the pump you need to acknowledge when you start pumping and when you stop, otherwise you could end up paying for the next folks. At least that’s different from how the pumps work in the US.
I've done Iceland TWICE, 4 weeks per time, with HITCH HIKING and CAMPING, and I'm no cheap holiday "GURU????" either, I've also done another 27 countries with HITCH HIKING and SLEEPING ROUGH,. the moto is "the ROUGHER you travel, the CHEAPETR it is" LOL, and when yer used to hitch hiking and sleeping rough, all other methods of travel and accommodation are "a God damned expensive LUXURY" LOL, I have NEVER had a cheap holiday, BUT, I have had LOTS of FREE ones instead.
@@Yoom5 To hitch hike around Iceland, you need to have the correct kit, like thermal clothing, gore tex waterproofs, proper hiking boots, decent sleeping bag, expedition type tent, these things are not cheap, and I wouldn't advise anyone to cut corners by getting cheap stuff, it was a long time ago when I hitch hiked around Iceland, I would imagine its still feasible to hitch hike around Iceland nowadays.
@@CheapHolidayExpert Thnk you for the qick answer. I am going in the beginning of October. I have booked an 4x4 Dacia Duster with Tend on the Roof. I will take some tips from what you said in the Videos that you have in RUclips. If you can advice me something else, please just do it before it's to late :P :D
Technically... Yes. But I wouldn't - you'd be in the car most of the day and wouldn't get to truly enjoy it! Choose to either do just the Golden Circle and a bit of the south coast, or go up north where less people travel to!

Thank you, great tips! One you forgot is to EAT at Costco, cheap hot dog & pizza you can actually get to go for later.
I’ve been to Iceland four times and this advice is brilliant. Well done.

Do you really need a car or you can Uber to places
When you do the Ring Road Trip, do you need a 4x4 vehicle or it can be also a normal vehicle?
In the winter, you really do need a 4x4. In the summer, less so if you’re just keeping to the ring road but the weather does like to surprise you.
