    Swansea City Association Football Club is a Welsh professional football club based in the city of Swansea, South Wales that plays in the Championship. Swansea City represents England when playing in European competitions, although they have represented Wales in the past. They play their home matches at the Liberty Stadium.
    The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and joined the Football League in 1921. The club changed their name in 1969, when it adopted the name Swansea City to reflect Swansea's new status as a city.
    In 1981, the club were promoted to the original Football League First Division. It was during the following season they came close to winning the league title, but a decline then set near the season's end before finishing sixth, although a club record. It was from here the club suffered a relegation the season after, returning to the Football League Fourth Division a few seasons later, then narrowly avoided relegation to the Football Conference in 2003. Prior to playing home matches at the Liberty Stadium, the team had previously hosted at the Vetch Field. The Swansea City Supporters Society Ltd owns 20% of the club, with their involvement hailed by Supporters Direct as "the most high profile example of the involvement of a supporters' trust in the direct running of a club".
    In 2011, Swansea were promoted to the English Premier League, becoming the first Welsh team to play in the top division since its formation in 1992. On 24 February 2013, Swansea beat Bradford City 5-0 to win the 2012-13 Football League Cup (the competition's highest ever winning margin for the final), winning the first major English trophy in the club's history and qualifying for the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League.

    Fair play Swansea, that was a gutsy recovery. We’ve snatched last minute away draws vs Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City so maybe this was football karma. Looking forward to the return fixture under the lights at the Liberty 29/12. Best of luck for the rest of the season, no doubt you’ll be in the mix again for the play offs.

      Because the referee thinks it's Luton's ball, Ryan Manning blocked the player and got kicked and Tom Lockyer was fuming that Swansea was wasting time. But despite this, it's still a red.

      Most definitely mate. I reckon if we manage to hold on this season, strengthen that defense and we could have a chance next time around.
      Benda is class but he needs discipline, too much fooling around with the ball in his box. Piroe is a magician, Paterson got some kick behind em and Obafemi and Ntcham have a lot of promise.

    As a referee in the Czech Republic, I also give a yellow to both of them... Luton player wanted a quick play and when he was in upswing, Swan player kick him ball away and he hit his leg instead of ball.. It's beautifully seen at 1:36.. First yellow for Swan player for unsporting behavior (And for that behavior he also get another punishment cause of kick) and then yellow for Luton's for foul.. If you've ever played football, you surely know, when you're in upswing, it's impossible to stop.. I think referee did pretty good job in this curious situation.

      Kuba, what a crock. Totally uncalled for, violent play by the Luton player. He could have restrained himself, but chose not to. Violent play for sure, as his opponent even had his back to him. I stopped attending football matches partly due to appalling referreeeing.

    • @kubashejbal6852
      @kubashejbal6852 3 года назад +1

      The Lutoner wanted to play and Ryan has no pretension to obstruct a play. When he kick a ball away just in front of him, even when he is in upswing, he really can't do nothing..
      I love Swans and I'm a fan since 6yo, but also I play football 19 years now and I have understanding for that, cause Ryan really fucked it and he fully deserved it..
      And I absolutely hate unfair behaviour, simulations, deceits and so on.. This really have no place in football, so I'm 100% on a referree's side.. That's a football rules.. Once again, look at the time at 1:36 and be more objective..
      And Ryan Thomas.. Yes, I'm a referee and I'd say on pretty solid level.
