the animation starter pack works if i use another tipe of weapon, for example: i have classic shotgun and i use the shotgun animation fom my game.

I started reading several books and tried several tutorials but all of them wasted time doing seemingly pointless or cumbersome things or made you memorize stuff that wasn't immediately useful which just was too overwhelming. This tutorial taught me more in 5 minutes than I learned from the others in hours.

4:10 For those who are having issues finding "Duplicate and Retarget Animations Assets" in UE 5.4, you do it in "Retarget Animations" instead. Under Target choose SKM_Manny_Simple then in the bottom you will have to chose the animation you want to retarget which in this case Idle_Rifle_Hip. Then click Export Animations.

Hello, thank you for this tutorial! However I have encountered some issues regarding character animation after they are hit with a bullet. It seems like the event that triggers physics for the character to fall are not playing correctly. Could you pleas give me a hint why that may be happening?

44:20 My details thing and preview scenes tab is gone so i cant add the animations how do i get the back. the entire thing is gone so i cant even see the manakin now and when i delete it and make a new one it still doesn't show
Just a suggestion, try to slow down and explain why we do things and not just what buttons to press. It felt like you were trying to rush to the end, lol.

5.4 is now out and at 4:20 you used the "Duplicate and Retarget" Option and i cant find it anywhere, maybe someone know where it is now? Tried to just replace skelleton but it doesnt show the UE5_Mannequin

I can't find the folder input in the folder ThirdPerson, i followed along but there is no input folder for me. I get Content > Third person > then just Blueprints or Maps but no input. searched all and there is no folder anywhere labeled Input so im not sure where to go from here, if its a version compatibility issue or what. i also noticed my Event Graph has entirely different stings of Blueprints added so im assuming this is some issue coming from the different versions but even still i would imagine there would still have to be an input option, i am stumped, anyone have advice for me?

Hello, I got a problem where the bullet was only shooting when I jump and still doesn't shoot properly, when I shoot when standing it creates a sphere in front of the shotgun. What do I do?
Hi really want to do this tutorial I am sure I have followed it exactly, am at the twenty mns bit with the bullet, I have created it, and it shoots, but is static, just hangs a whil ball in front of gun an doesn't move? Im sue I've followed everything, please have I missed something.
why can't i shoot when there are buildings near me? the only way to fix this was to change the collision preset of the bullet to NoCollisions but i can't hit the enemy if i put NoCollisions, but if i put BlockAllDynamic it won't shoot if there are buildings near, for example if i jump in the void i can shoot, how can i solve this?

The attack radius was small, increased the size and the issue was fixed
with the 5.3.1 update any recommendations on animation packs compatible with the new version

I had some trouble with the bullets, they were stuck in mid air and not moving. Some were, but great tutorial I hope you have a vid to fix the problem.

**IMPORTANT** At 12:30 you are told to change the anim class of your third person mesh *after* you've already been instructed to compile. Unreal, like most engines, will not allow you to change the anim class while the game is running. At the top of the screen you should see a red stop button if you haven't already stopped the game. Click that and you will be able to resume following along with the video.
in version 5.2 the skin is corrupted for the idle rifle does anyone know how to fix this ?

yeah absolutely. So casting is basically referencing the Blueprint and acessing it, and it consmumes some memory to do so. Now, it really isnt sooo expensive, but making sure that it is just done one time i the LONG-TERM it will make a growing game scale much better

I noticed that the enemy health bar stays wherever the enemy dies. So if you move an enemies dead body the empty health bar stays, and also has a collision effect that impedes the user's movement. Do you know how to fix those issues? Great tutorial by the way I really enjoyed following along!
Hi! Maybe you have already figured it out but if not I will help you. First go to BP_Enemy, then the blueprint containing damage and death. In the end of the blueprint where you have the functions "Set simulate physics" and "stop movement immediately" you add "Destroy component", choose "HealthWidget", this will remove the enemy health as soon as they die.
From there you drag a new function called "Set Collision Enabled - Capsule Component". In "Set Collision Enabled" you choose "no collision". This will make it so that you can walk trough where the enemy used to be. I hope that helps!
The health bar keeps attacking me. Any idea on how to fix this? I did what you suggested but anytime i go near the dead enemy's body I get attacked lol@@SuperDierckx
@@shahimpanjwani8547 4 months late..... But just in case anyone else has this issue, I added 3 "destroy component" following the "Set Simulate Physics" BP's , one for enemy attack radius, one for health widget and one for Capsule component. There is no longer ghost collision or damage.

Can anyone help me? for some reason my Floating Platform has become a trampolim, and when my character jumps on it, he is launched up very strongly, i've followed everystep without any other problems...
A heads up for anyone believing that all the assets used in the video are free (as we're told they're meant to be), the combat animations used at 1:01:48 are not free. While they're only 50c, it does still go against what is said in the video.
They are free, if you read the description on the item, the hosting website required a price but using the discount code directly from the description the price is removed.

If I want my character to start off without the weapon, then after he picks it up do I somehow change Animation Blue Prints to this one? I know how to have him pick it up, but not sure what would be the next step as far as having him with the new weapon idle ABP. Can you please tell me?
ok yeah I see.. So you would want to create a new state in the Anim BP, and then make a new belndspace with unnarmed animations. And then transition between them depending if you have them equiped or not. Let me know if this helps!

@@derf0007 yeah, so in the Anim graph, right click to add a new state machine, then inside, add a state, and plug in inside the normal blendspace without the shotgun. Then create another state, and plug in the blendspace with the shotgun anims, and you can drag arrows between the 2. So you can open that transitions and pass a bolean parameter, so it would be if the gun has been picked

22:00 all the jump and move buttons work, but my EventGraph only displays three empty and disabled nodes, and I can't find any input folder or file. I'm usning UNREAL 5.0.3
