The best part was that the Celtics still ran a play despite there being no time on the clock. Tatum wanted the ball immediately, but instead of hovering at the three point line and potentially pouting if they missed, he reacted to the ball movement and the ball found him anyways.

He said he was going for the offensive rebound because he thought Marcus was gonna shoot it. He definitely wanted the last shot. Didn’t look like a play, rather they wanted the Nets defense to scramble and wanted the advantage of being able to attack certain matchups, in the end it worked.

Hats off to Tatum. Played great D on a superstar scorer and immediately wanted the ball going the other way. He called for the ball three separate times on that possession before he got that layup. And when he didn't get the ball, he didn't mope or throw his hands up and pout for the cameras. He still had the presence of mind to make the high I.Q. move to dive to the basket and make himself available for a clutch pass from Smart. I love it when the best players don't shy away from the biggest moments.

You can be overmatched and still understand responsibilities. They don’t know when to help, when to stay home. On screens they never seem to know to switch or fight thru. Backside help gets sucked in deep and can’t recover. They literally play like Nash on D but as a unit.
